5. Wat Pho

The exact moment I went down the rabbit hole 🐇♠️ ••• I loved Thailand and had some pretty amazing experiences there but some things left me a little disappointed as well. 👀 ••• For example, getting a taxi is usually quite an unpleasant exchange- drivers always refuse to turn on their meters and instead try to charge you 2-3x what the ride would usually cost, once we paid $20 for a 10min ride… 🤑 ••• One night we tried to share a ride with a couple we met at the taxi stand who was going to the same place as us but the drivers refused to take us, they said we needed to get separate cars because we had just met (?!) 🐄 ••• Now I am trying to reconcile my love for all the beautiful landscapes, rich culture and yummy food Thailand has to offer with feelings of being unwelcome and taken advantage of. Please share your thoughts? 🔬
