Sadly there can only be one winner but it was an incredibly difficult decision for our judges as they combed through over 4000 exceptional entries.

So…did you win?

Let’s find out!

We’re starting with the top nine and working our way down to the grand prize winner!

8. The Summit Of Snowdon in Wales by Grace

What did The Broke Backpacker like about this photo?

This was an insanely tough group of photos to make a decision on, there’s some real talent here and choosing a clear winner was not easy. What I really like about Vision’s of Grace photo is that she placed something very simple into the foreground of the shot – two pairs of walking boots. This tells a story and raises questions, so much so that at first you don’t even really notice the truly stunning backdrop of blue lakes and rolling hills. I personally find the use of walking boots a lot more powerful than having a person in the foreground and it works really well with the overall composition of the shot. Walking boots shout out to me – adventure and trekking! Two pairs of walking boots shout at – Going on an adventure with a loved one…

7. Two Totoro treats at the famous Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo

6. Hot air balloons in Cappadocia, Turkey by Lo B

Some of our judges had this to say:photler

As a photographer, I pay attention to all technical aspects of photos – yes, it’s well framed, the exposure compensation is definitely correct, the depth of field underlines the beauty of the place… But this photo is much more than that. It tells a story that is understandable for everyone, in every language. It’s a form of photo essay that opens our eyes to a much more complex meaning of ‘traveling’. It’s about being present wherever you are. Being close to the nature. Being a human and discovering how big that issue is. – Piotr Kulczycki of Photler

This image has a stunning backdrop, and the lighting is magical. The girl’s blue jacket pops nicely and the dog along with its story is also adorable. This image really stood out to me and should definitely be the winner. – Cailin O’Neil of Travel Yourself

I picked Karl’s gorgeous snowy mountain picture as my top pick because the lighting, composition, and energy in the photo blew me away. It’s an already beautiful scene, but adding the subject (and the dog of course) really makes the picture pop. I felt like I connected with the image and its story instantly. It was tough to choose, but this is my favorite for sure! – Helene of Helene in Between

Honesty is important to me when it comes to imagery. As it becomes ever challenging to capture real moments in a world that’s always ready for its photo op I felt like this image really came out on top. Simple but straight composition with a good lightning, all elements that work together to support an honest moment. Not to mention the stunning landscape really makes this picture spring to life. – Jesus, Head of Design at TourRadar
