Be advised, this provider (Himalayan Recreation Treks) is just a booking agent, and not a guide. From the time I was picked up in Kathmandu, I was constantly handed off to another person at each leg of my trip, who seemed to need a lengthy explanation on what he was to do with me next. I don't believe there was any organization between the individuals involved, and they simply called around to find someone to provide the service I needed at the time. While the things listed in the itinerary were provided, the description is VERY misleading. 1. The "tourist bus" was a long distance public bus that anyone could board. I was put on the bus by my first "guide". The extent of his english was "sit here", "hotel pick you up Chitwan". The bus made multiple stops in Kathmandu before leaving and made multiple stops before arriving in Chitwan. When I arrived in Chitwan, it was left to me to ask the multiple cabs at the station where the driver for my hotel was. 2. The one and a half hour "jungle walk" on the first day consisted of walking through town to the elephant breeding center. We walked through this center for approximately 15 minutes. My second "guide" for this activity was the clerk from the front desk of the hotel. He did not know anything about elephants and could not answer any of my questions about the center. 3. The second day, I was introduced to my third "guide" for the canoe trip. The extent of his english was naming the animals we saw, but could not provide any additional information about the park or the places we went. There was no jungle walk provided this day. Later in the afternoon, I was put in a jeep with my fourth "guide". He proceeded to drive around town for an hour, picking up more tourists from other hotels. Then he dropped us off at the entrance to the park where my fifth "guide" picked us up for the jeep safari. The safari felt rushed, like the driver of the jeep was hired to drive from one end of the park to the other, and the sooner he finished, the sooner he could leave. 4. The "tourist bus" on the drive home was a similar experience on a public bus. When we arrived at the Kathmandu bus station, there was no cab or ride provided for me to return to my hotel. I was forced to hire and pay for a cab myself. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The itinerary and description make this sound like an informative, well organized group trip. It could not have been any further from this. Do your research and hire a well established tour operator with many reviews and viable references.
- by Kristof SchnaitmannHad a really lovely trip to Chitwan. When I arrived I met Harka and we talked about the tour. I told him that I wanted to do mostly forest trekking and he tailored the itinerary to suit this. We walked about 7 hours and after not seeing rhino, he took me to a separate reserve where there was a better chance to see them and it worked. So thank you for that! The hotel (seven star) was also very nice and the lovely lady in the restaurant took really good care of me so a big thanks to her too.

I had a great experience on the 4D3N Chitwan Jungle Safari. Everything was well coordinated and informative!
- by Angela ThompsonI recently took part in Peregrine Treks' 4-day Chitwan Jungle Safari, and it was an amazing experience. Pradip, the organizer, communicated everything clearly and responded promptly. The safari allowed us to get up close with wildlife in Chitwan National Park, and we even saw rhinos and Royal Bengal tiger. The accommodations were comfortable, and the itinerary was well-planned. I highly recommend this safari for a memorable adventure in nature.

It was very hot but that’s nit your fault. Our guide seemed irritated if we asked question that he felt he had answered. The jungle tour was great

I am not much of a reviewer. But the service provided by TCG needs to be recommended and hence this review. I undertook this trip in mid September. Normally, rainy season should have been over, but this year it was an extended rainy season, so seasonal drizzles were common. I was met at the airport by my Guide Mr. Dinesh. An excellent person with an overall information of the history and geography of any location in Kathmandu. I was boarded in a Heritage hotel (Wifi in the hotels are not good because of mountainous region. Better to opt for a local number with 4G Data). The local cuisine (I prefer to eat the locality cuisine of the place I visit, in this case Nepali food), was awesome. Even Nepal has different cuisines like Newari, Momos, Thakali, etc.). Thamel is the tourist place of Kathmandu and most visited by all tourists, which I avoided as best as I could. Most temples, do not allow photography, so please do check before clicking away. Snakes are revered animals in Nepal. The Chandragiri hill and the Mountain flight were the sightseeing highlights of this trip. Chandragiri Hills have a cable car ride to and fro. The mountain flight is operated in the mornings. Its best to take the first mountain flight of the day (as the sky is likely to be more clearer). According to me a trip is made most memorable by the guide (Mr. Dinesh Maharjan), The vehicle and the driver (Mr. Arjun) and the company which organised this trip with their local partners (in this case TCG and Associate Travel). Special thanks to Lexi from TCG who organised this whole trip along with all her team members.

My visit to Chitwan was absolutely worth-while. I saw a plethora of birds, crocodiles from on the boat tour, deer, a few wild gharials, a few rhinos, and even a bear! The facilities at the hotel were some of the best I've had in a while. The only downside is the where the bus had to stop when coming back, but it seems to be the only spot where the buses can stop in a city as congested as Kathmandu.
- by Kendrick SharpFabulous 3 days in the jungle. Hotel Parkland was lovely as were the staff and guides. Great pool. Beautiful and relaxing. Lots of animals spotted on the game drive. Loved it

Friendly staff and guides. We had different guides for each portion of the safari. It lacked a personal touch in that we didn't get to know any one guide at all. All were very competent though; I have no complaints about their quality. A nice variety of options for the safari though, even though we did not see much wildlife.
- by Troy ByersWe did 3 night 4 days Chitwan Jungle Safari tour. We have really great time in Chitwan. Best hospitality and nice hotel provided to us. The Jungle was perfect for to see wildlife animals. Thank you !! White Hill Adventure Team

I was the only one booked on to these dates. Someone came to collect me from my hotel and take me to the bus which was good as there were a lot of buses. The bus was terrible, all the foreigners were put at the back of the bus and if you asked to move you were told that everyone had booked their seats before you (I booked my tour 4 months in advance) The bus stopped several times and the journey took 7 and a half hours ( not the 5 they tell you). The hotel was good, basic but everything you needed. All meals were included which was good. On the first night I had my own guide who took me out on a walk to see the elephants and we then watched the sunrise from a local bar. Was also lucky enough to see a rhino on the banks. The next day we went on a boat trip along the river and a walk to spot birds and then in the afternoon went on a Jeep safari. It’s a long trip, 4 hours but saw quite a bit of wildlife including elephants and more rhinos. That night I went to a cultural dance show, which the locals enjoyed but it wasn’t really for me. The next morning I was supposed to go another bird walk but they said I’d already seen everything but that I could still go if I wanted to. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and my guide was very sweet. You could easily organise the whole thing yourself but for the money paid it’s just as easy to get someone to do it. I would recommend but the bus journeys are horrendous so it might be better to fly!
- by RhiannonAyehKumiRainbow Safari Resort was great, lovely central courtyard, quiet, really friendly attentive staff. The walking, bird watching, jeep safari and canoe trip were all excellent. However the bus used to get to Chitwan and back to Kathmandu was awful. It was ancient and seriously old and uncomfortable. I noticed many other tourist buses in far better condition and much more modern. I would suggest that this aspect of the trip really needs to be improved.

Overall feeling was very good! Experienece was great! We enjoyed our time in Nepal and the different landscape and region. It was a shame that we spent so much time on the road due to the works on the roads. Aside that we had a great time in Chitwan with the rhino company 🙂
- by Cristina dos SantosQuiero recomendar a Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure, contratamos tour privado visitando kathmandu, Pokhara y Chitwan.

- by MadelasuzukiI was excited for Jungle safari since booked this trip from Approved Holidays. They took me bus station in the morning. There was tourist couch. I reached Chitwan for lunch. The food was very nice with many choices. The guide Ram brief about the safari trip. According to the briefing I did elephant back safari, canoeing, jungle walk, elephant breading centre visit, village walk, sunset view and saw Tharu cultural show. After finishing all activities in 3 days, they took back me to Kathmandu by tourist couch again. The 2 nights 3 days tour was great.

We had a great trip to Chitwan with intrepid. The tour was great value and very well organised. Our guide Fule was amazing- very knowledgeable and helped us if we had any issues. The hotel staff were friendly and our stay was very comfortable. We enjoyed all our activities and liked that there was plenty of time for rest also. The bus ride to and from Kathmandu was probably the only downer as it was long and very hot without aircon. Overall the trip was great value for money and very well organised.
- by Caitlin MageeThe Chitwin National Park (NP) tour in Nepal was our second Intrepid experience and though only 4-days we found the administration and attention to detail throughout was top notch from the briefing in Kathmandu until the tour finished. The public bus connection to Chitwin was an experience as the (main ??) road was quite rough and took around 5 hours. We were met by our NP guide Fulle who was just wonderfully experienced and knowledgeable about his job and the environment from birds to rhinoceros! On our first evening walk along the nearby river we encountered our first rhino (of three during the stay) and felt very privileged. Fulle also led us on a very interesting & pleasant naturalist jeep tour of the NP bushland. We can't speak highly enough of our tour and of our guide Fulle, thank you very much.

This is actually a great experience but couldn’t mark it any higher due to some negative experiences. In terms of value for money though it is excellent. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the bus which was nice. The bus journey states 5-6 hours but in reality was 7 hours there and 9 hours back for us. The coach isn't too bad but there is some bumpy twisty roads so if you are not a good traveller you might struggle. The resort itself is lovely, with great rooms and a pool onsite. The staff, drivers and guides are excellent and offer a real personal touch. One thing we felt rushed with was coming off a 7 hour journey and only being given 45 minutes to get unpacked before the jeep safari left. Safari was really good though. The canoe trip was a highlight but we were not told that afterwards there was a 2 hour trek through baking heat through some dense jungle and across some tricky terrain. If you have any walking difficulties this would be pretty impossible and you would have no warning. Also no guide on footwear, almost wore sandals for the canoe ride which would have made the trek not possible. Actually wore shorts aswell which meant my legs were scratched and bitten from the walk. Had I know I would have worn trousers. They also advertise bird watching on the last morning which didn’t happen. I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat any even though it was included. We were on a specific diet plan and asked Tourradar if there was somewhere to buy snacks there. We were told yes but there wasn’t so we were left with no food for 2 days. Also, after a 9 hour journey back to Kathmandu we were just dropped off in a random location (not where we left from). I had no clue where we were and had no working internet. We managed to get a taxi which turned out to be about 20 minutes from our hotel. It’s definately an adventure and the time you have at the resort you will enjoy!
- by Dale AnnableThe accommodation facilities were very good and the staff in general very attentive. The guide had an excellent knowledge of the Tharu village, the local culture as well as the wild life. What I liked above all was that he was able to provide much needed advice on decisions regarding the tour itself and that made it feel very personalized. I am also immensely happy with the welcoming nature of everything one I came across!

- by FelixForcadesWell run and personable tour. Met me at Kathmandu Airport with card and my name. Put flower necklace on me and took me to hotel. Next morning put me on a bus for 7 hour ride to Chitwan. Man from Aama Gardens Hotel met me there and took me to hotel. Excellent from Menu lunch and dinner ordered and served (drinks extra charge) .Three great meals next two days and breakfast on 4th day. Day two dugout canoe ride in am saw marsh mugger crocodile. One charged boat in defense of nest. Saw many birds and turtles. Afterward went on Jungle walk and saw wild bull elephant with history of attacking people and during many baby elephants and Gharial and mugger crocodiles and parrots. Afternoon was 4 hour jeep safari saw palm civet black faced languir, several Indian one horned rhinos, many pea fowl, storks etc. no tiger 🐅 Drat!! But many footprints, tons of axis deer one hog deer. Evening was fantastic local dance especially the magnificent “fire dance” near end. Next morning was a highlight riding elephant across rivers and walking right up (40 feet) on three rhinos unconcerned with us unlike bolting from jeep jeep safari. Mahout took us through thick brush trying to see a leopard or tiger no luck but came within five feet of big spotted deer buck. Would love to have full day elephant safari off the beaten path. Afternoon was spent at Chitwan natural history museum. Not the Smithsonian but plenty to see and learn about Chitwan. Btw Aama Garden hotel only five minute walk from A Chitwan gate. Wildlife Guide Kush walked with me back to park to see a few extra things right at dusk ( he was guide on bush walk and his twin brother on the jeep tour. Really knowledgeable (I’m retired wildlife biologist) so not kidding. Showed me a video of adult rhino walking down street past Aama Garden hotel the day before I arrived. These guys were good and jungle walk is not without some risk but really neat being on the ground with elephants rhinos and tigers. Not the same as woods walk in Pennsylvania. Ask for Kush and his brother if you book this tour. Trekking Planner headman Dipak was attentive to all details. The only wrinkle in whole multifaceted adventure was being a little late in retrieving me from elephant safari back to hotel but I enjoyed myself looking around waiting so no big deal at all as I saw the mahouts skillfully handling their beasts. Next morning made to order breakfast and seven hour ride in great bus with onboard WiFi for return seven hours to Kathmandu where I was met and raked back to hotel
