South West England Tour Companies

We were on the 5 day tour to Devon and Cornwall with David as our guide. The amount of time in each stop was well planned. David's information was very interesting and made the experience come alive.

Overall I had a great time visiting Portsmouth, Isle of Wight and Runnymede which I’ve never been to before. I’m glad to have visited Winchester again as I wanted to see King Arthur’s Table in the Great Hall. Our tour guide and driver Neil was great. I enjoyed my time on this tour.

The tour was excellent. I learned much about the places we visited and had fun doing so.

I enjoyed all aspects of the locations. B and B's very good. Christo a great guide and Omar a good driver. More time in Winchester would have been good. Andrew a good driver.

The sights were amazing. We had a great driver. The reason I didn’t mark it as excellent is because several stops felt rushed. It would have been nice to spend more time at most of our stops.

Greg is an excellent tour guide, knowledgeable, friendly, cheerful and very helpful. As well our driver was the best, kind and helpful.

Wonderful - especially for first trip to England. I feel like the time in London was used well to cover many of the most famous landmarks, or at least tell how to visit many more while not touring. Our tour guide, Bruce, was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer any questions posed. He was very accommodating to each one in our group and very friendly and approachable to all. The side trips to historic Stonehenge, Bath, Windsor, Salisbury and Lacock were most interesting. I would not hesitate to recommend.

This itinerary is superb. Our group saw the chief attractions at each place. (You must see the Roman baths in Bath!) Our guide was exceptionally informative and friendly. The time allowed at each location was about right. Plenty of free time was allowed for us to wander on our own as we chose.

A fabulous, considerate and knowledgeable guide

What should have been a fantastic tour, (we have been on Highlights of Britain and Wonders of Wales, both were exceptional) was a total let down, due to having a tour guide who was in her words ‘just learning’, we learnt nothing, every question was responded with, I don’t know, I need to do some research, we received no guidance on what to on the day excursions, and left feeling that we paid top dollar for very little. This experience has put me off backroads. We feel used and abused,as far as cost goes, we did not pay for a rookie guide.

This was my second tour with Dacey's, called the revisit tour. It did not disappoint. Can't say enough to recommend Dacey's tours. So much to see in Cornwall and Dacey's gives a great experience with wonderful sites and great lodging experience. David is a superb travel guides providing fascinating information and also a few jokes along the way. A can't miss tour for anyone.

I enjoyed my tour immensely in 2019. (When I entered correct date on this site it wouldn’t accept it! ) I booked another tour but coronavirus arrived. I thoroughly recommend David’s tour to anyone considering a trip to beautiful Cornwall. David is a fantastic gentleman, his itinerary is well planned and accommodation was delightful. I was fortunate to meet Doc Martin’s policeman - a real treat for me. If you are considering a Cornish tour please peruse David’s site. The only downside for me was the exchange rate between Australian dollars and American.

The guide Theresa was amazing but I was disappointed with the accommodations. They split the group up. People who booked a single got to stay in a nice hotel overlooking the water and people who booked a double stayed in a rundown hotel down the street. The guide said in the past everyone had stayed at the same hotel so it was disappointing that I paid the same amount for an experience that wasn’t as good. The breakfast in the morning wasn’t worth it.

I am still waiting to be told where to meet and where accommidation is. Supposed to be meeting g at 12.00 cannot get contact with anyone

We did not have an Insight Bus, driver or tour director. There was no well-being person on the bus and only one local guide. Places were missed several times due to mismanagement. We had 3 great hotels but a couple that were below acceptable and the rest just average. The food was mediocre with very little input into were to dine while left on our own. Certainly did not come close to what was promised in the brochure - definitely will not go on anther Insight Tour and will not recommend them to others.
