Some of them spoke very limited English so the information about sites was forwarded in a very limited way and answers to questions were not to the point. I was disappointed with safari. The guide did not cover any of the vegetation or wildlife habitats, he was not on the lookout for the wildlife. The most of the wildlife spotting was done by the tourists. His focus was on the tiger which was a rear occurrence in this area so he got all attendees disappointed when we had not seen one. I was not there to see the tiger, I wanted to learn more about the local fauna an flora. I wish his English and dedication were better. He kept us safe and was flexible to take us anywhere we’d like to go! I was lucky enough to be on my own and my driver and guides took very good care of me each day along the way. The castle stays and the couple of heritage hotel stays were also fantastic! Please be sure to read the fine print as not all of the experiences mentioned in the day-to-day itinerary were included in the overall price. Also, India is very much a tipping culture so be sure to budget for those additional costs as well. You will cover a lot of ground so be prepared to spend a lot of time in the car and in traffic. - MMMarilyn· December 27th, 2024AWESOME tour!!! Some of the things to consider: 1) Weather -- always check prior to you coming to India. Wear layers for it gets very cold in early morning/night time & a bit warm in midday. Having a scarf is good to have. 2) Castles --- this is an amazing experience! Love the royalty treatment!! Especially with meals & entertainment, Luni village excursion & lodging. My "room" was huge! Had my henna tattoo done. People are so warm. Electricity in India goes off briefly, which I was told was common. Only lasted about a couple minutes. 3) Wildlife --- didn't see tiger in Ranthambor. But during the entire trip seen lots of cows (on roads/highways), buffalos, goats, wild pigs, peacocks, monkeys, different birds & others. The train ride & monkeys coming on board was fun! 4) Stops at shops for carpets, paintings, arts & crafts, textiles --- I know that we don't have to buy at these places, however, I can probably skip these. 5) Tippling --- tipping is common in India. In restaurants, at least tip 10%. 5) Tour guides --- you have a different tour guide for the day. The ones I remember that made quite an impact are Mr. Lal, Vishal & Amit. Taj Mahal --- we opted to have a professional photographer do the photos for us, with all the photos downloaded on our mobile phones, plus a hard-copy photo album. Price is reasonable. 6) DRIVER/Tour guide --- You have different tour guide for different days. However, your driver will remain with you for the ENTIRE tour. From picking you up at the airport to dropping you off upon your departure to your home. Plus, drives could be long (i.e. 4-6 hrs at a time). Your driver is also a tour guide. Hence, choosing your DRIVER is critical! I would highly recommend Mr. PRADEEP SINGH. Mr. Pradeep is professional, punctual, very considerate, customizes needs of each clients, treats you as his family. Yes, he speaks & understands English. He also has taken us to places that are not even on the itinerary to experience India ---- magnificent old century temples, Chand Baori (stepwells), Indian folk dance & others. We visited so many places including Taj Mahal in Agra, which was the highlight of my trip. I also visited Chanwa fort in Luni which was another favorite of mine. This hotel treat you like a QUEEN or KING. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe in India. People over there are very friendly. My driver, Vishnu was amazing. He drove me every where in India. He’s one the reason I feel safe. I would definitely recommend this tour as long you not booking it mainly because of the wildlife (Safari). The safari tour in Ranthambore is definitely overhyped.
