    Asked on July 12th, 2026

If I do not want to share my room with another person, is there accommodations for this? How much would it be?

    Accommodation
    Single supplement
    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten July 2026

We don't offer Single room upgrades in Japan, one reason is the cost of standard hotel rooms in Japan not being budget friendly and would make the tour significantly more money. Furthermore, we prefer to include some really cool unique accommodation experiences, i.e the temple stays and pods, rather than standard single hotel rooms, so you can make your time in Japan as memorable as possible!

We're thrilled that you are interested in joining us on an unforgettable One Life Adventure. However, I do come bearing bad news. As much as we would love to have you on board this tour, we have to follow our guidelines as per our tour requirements, meaning we are unable to accommodate guests who are over the age of 59 to help us better manage group dynamics and ensure the experience meets the expectations of everyone travelling with us.

  • M

    Michele

    Asked on May 28th, 2026

We are interested in your May 10th 2027 Japan classic 10 day tour. I am specifically wondering if we could do the tour with you, then take the shinkansen to Kyushu for another week of self-guided touring? Would this influence our trip with you at all? I speak semi fluent Japanese and used to live in Japan, so we have friends in Kyushu. Do you have any similar tours that are 7 or 8 days where this could also work?

    Tour Details
    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2026

There is no issue at all with doing a tour and then doing your own thing after. With this specific tour, the accommodation looks like this: Days 1, 2, 3 you will be in twins in a hotel, On day 4 you will be staying in multi-share accommodation in the mountain town of Hakone, day 5 in a multi-share accommodation in a temple. In Kyoto on days 6,7,8 you will have your own pod in a capsule Ryokan and in Osaka you will either be in twins or triples. The train travels from major hubs like Osaka or Tokyo, then passes through Hakata Station (Fukuoka) to Kyushu. So as long as the tour ends in Osaka or Tokyo you are good to go.

    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2026

For the 10 Day Tour it will end in Osaka and the accommodation is not very far from the train station, so it would be super convenient. Regarding the tour length, we have the following tours: 10 or 14 Day Classic, 4 Day Tokyo Snapshot, 6 Day Osaka - Hiroshima Snapshot.

    Asked on May 6th, 2026

Is it possible to make some changes to the itinerary and if possible, what the new budget would be? I'd like the trip to start and end in Tokyo. In Hakone, I'd like to experience an onsen (hot spring). From there, I'd like to go directly to Kyoto to visit the Bamboo Grove and Fushimi Inari Shrine. Then, in Osaka, I'd like to visit Universal Studios, specifically the Mario Bros Land. From there, I'm very interested in going to Okinawa and staying there for three nights. I'd like to visit the Okinawa Pokémon Center, the Churuami Aquarium, Murasaki Mura, and go scuba diving on one of the nearby islands—preferably the most beautiful one. Finally, I'd like the return trip to Tokyo.

Our itineraries are fixed so unfortunately we wouldn't be able to adjust the tour - but your itinerary does sound amazing! Looking at where you are looking to go, I think it would be easiest to do this tour yourselves using Japan's public transport to get yourself to each location - giving you the freedom to go to all of the places you want to go. If you wanted to still join our fixed itinerary tour you can join the 10 Day Japan tour which starts in Tokyo would end in Osaka and includes Hakone and Kyoto. You could find time after the tour finishes in Osaka to do Universal Studios before then heading to Okinawa.
