Travel Peloponnese Islands your way
Typical sailing trips run 7-8 days from Athens into the Saronic Gulf islands. You'll dock at spots like Hydra, where donkeys still carry supplies up marble-cobbled streets since cars aren't allowed. Many guests mix morning yoga with sailing - there's something special about doing poses on deck while Greek islands pass by. The stops at Poros and also Aegina get good reviews for swimming and local food. Our skippers know their stuff, finding quiet spots and working around the weather. One captain named Elias comes up often in feedback - he knows all the hidden bays and seems to be friends with every taverna owner around.
The three-day tour through Epidaurus, Mycenae and Delphi really gets you deep into Greece's archaeological treasures. Our travelers tell us how their guides make ancient stories come alive - you'll walk through the massive Lion's Gate and learn what made the Oracle's sanctuary so powerful back in its day. For something a bit different, take the path less traveled along Arcadian shepherds' routes through the Lousios gorge. You'll find hidden monasteries tucked away and cross old stone bridges that have stood for centuries. What our customers love most is how these tours mix famous sites with real Greek life - one day you might help local farmers bring in their olive harvest, the next you're sharing dinner with a family in their mountain home. The guides know all the quiet spots and perfect timing to visit popular sites like the Theatre of Epidaurus when the crowds thin out.

Group
70 tours in Peloponnese IslandsOur group tours mix classical sites with genuine local experiences. There's a popular 7-day cycling route combining ancient ruins with countryside rides - groups tell us they really appreciate how the guides time visits to miss the crowds at places like Epidaurus. Another favorite follows Hercules' mythological path through Olympia, Delphi and other sites. Our customers particularly enjoy how it balances historical locations with natural landscapes. These tours usually run with 12-16 people, making it easy to keep things social while staying flexible enough to adjust plans based on what the group wants to do.
Small Group
38 tours in Peloponnese IslandsSmall group tours really come into their own when exploring lesser-known Peloponnese spots. Our food tour keeps it intimate with 8-12 people, so you can actually get into local kitchens and visit small family producers. Travelers tell us they love learning to make traditional foods like lalagia in real Greek homes. We also run a small-group tour through the Mani Peninsula's tower houses and hidden coves - the smaller numbers mean we can book traditional guesthouses and eat at tiny family tavernas that couldn't handle bigger groups.
Private / Personalized

Top Peloponnese Islands travel itineraries to fit your plans
Our 3-day tours hit the essential Peloponnese highlights, starting at the Corinth Canal before heading to the archaeological gems. The ancient theater at Epidaurus is a real highlight - our guides love showing off its perfect acoustics, and many travelers catch evening performances during summer. Day two takes you through Mycenae with its massive Lion Gate and royal tombs, then on to Olympia where you'll walk the actual grounds where ancient Olympics began. We wrap up at Delphi's Oracle sanctuary - our customers tell us morning visits are extra special, when mist still clings to the Temple of Apollo and treasury houses. You'll stay in good hotels in Olympia and Delphi, though some travelers mention the hotel taxes can be a bit tricky to understand.
A week in the Peloponnese lets you blend coastal adventures with inland discoveries. Many routes kick off at Athens' Acropolis before sailing to the Saronic Islands, where you'll find hidden coves perfect for paddle boarding and Hydra's charming waterfront. Inland tours mix wine tasting at Nemea's vineyards with visits to mountain monasteries. The sailing portion includes plenty of quiet bays for swimming and snorkeling, while land routes wind through olive groves to family honey farms. Our travelers particularly enjoy cooking classes in Poros and evening walks in Nafplio's Venetian quarter. It works well for history buffs and active travelers alike - you can choose between easy coastal routes or more challenging inland paths with monastery hikes.
See all toursTen days really opens up the Peloponnese's hidden corners. Several routes follow Hercules' mythological footsteps, mixing famous sites with lesser-known spots like the monasteries of Lousios Gorge. You'll explore Diros cave networks, swim at quiet beaches near Cape Tenaro and discover the stone tower houses in Mani's villages. Our travelers love how varied the activities are - rafting down clear rivers one day, exploring Byzantine churches or cooking with local families the next. These longer trips include special touches like tasting wines in family cellars, sampling olive oil at historic presses and also visiting thermal spas. It's ideal for curious travelers who want both cultural immersion and outdoor activities.

You'll get such a nice mix of experiences: perhaps starting your day among temple ruins before catching an evening ferry to watch the sun set behind a traditional fishing village. - Fall / Autumn 2025
Autumn coincides with harvest season, and our tours tap right into local traditions. You can help pick olives, join in wine making and explore ancient sites all in the same trip. Our travelers tell us these authentic experiences really make their trip - one day you're walking through Delphi's sacred sites, the next you're in a family kitchen learning recipes passed down through generations. We've got several routes through lesser-known Peloponnese villages where you'll meet local producers and learn their crafts. The sea stays warm well into autumn, so we still mix in plenty of swimming at quiet beaches and also hidden coves. Both Epos Travel and Pictours stand out as solid choices for exploring Greece, based on what our travelers tell us. Epos Travel's Peloponnese tours get particularly enthusiastic feedback - guides like George and Argiris really make the history come alive while keeping things relaxed and friendly. The way they organize everything, from local restaurants to site visits and cultural stops, works smoothly without feeling rushed. Pictours of Greece does similar quality work, with George (their tour director) putting together some excellent accommodation choices and finding those local restaurants you wouldn't discover on your own. Their guide Aristotle has a gift for storytelling that transforms ancient ruins into vivid scenes from the past. What comes through in the feedback is how both companies nail the basics - good planning, knowledgeable guides and authentic experiences - while adding those personal touches that make a tour memorable. It's worth noting that travelers often mention the food at both companies' tours; they've clearly put effort into finding the right local spots rather than just hitting tourist restaurants. The main difference seems to be their focus areas - Epos has really made the Peloponnese their specialty, while Pictours works across different Greek regions. Both maintain small group sizes which our travelers say creates a more intimate atmosphere and lets you actually chat with the guides rather than just listening to speeches.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter brings a different pace to our tours, with quieter access to major archaeological sites like Mycenae, Olympia and also Delphi. Our local guides make these visits extra special - they've got perfect timing for site visits and share fascinating stories about Greek history that bring ancient stones to life. We've noticed travelers really enjoy mixing cultural visits with practical activities during the cooler months. You might spend your morning exploring ruins, then warm up in the afternoon learning to cook traditional dishes in a family kitchen or tasting locally pressed olive oil. The traditional hotels we use add an extra layer of comfort to winter touring.
