What people love about Georgia Tours
- Georgia Adventure
Overall very nice and good organized tour
- All Georgia tour: from the Highlands to the Sea
We had a private tour for two people for six days and enjoyed it very much. The guide was very nice and an excellent driver. The tour was quite tiring because we traveled some 1500 km but we managed to see a lot. The only disadvantage was that we did not have time to stop for proper lunches but this was probably due to the limited time available given the curfew (from 21:00 to 05:00). At the same time, we were very lucky with the weather. We saw interesting and very diverse places and also tried new dishes/drinks. We got a glimpse over wine production, met some locals and had fun with the friendly cows. The luxury of a private tour made the trip flexible to our needs. The organisation of the trip was excellent and I am grateful for the additional support provided after my flight schedule changes. I can fully recommnend Exotour.
- 5 Days Across the Georgia
The trip was great. I went to many fantastic places in this tour and the view is excellent. Mountain Kazbegi is especially breathtaking. My tour guide Levani is very knowledgeable about the historical sites. He is personable, accommodating and always humorous to make the trip fun. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful country with delicious food and friendly people. Just don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes and prepare for some climbing.

The rugged mountains of the Caucasus draw people in with incredible scenery and deep cultural roots. That trek up to Gergeti Trinity Church really delivers - you get these expansive mountain views that make the climb worthwhile. Our travelers often tell us how much they love cooking with local families, learning to make proper khachapuri with its gooey cheese filling and those twisted khinkali dumplings, all while sampling unique local wines. For serious hikers, the glacier route to Mount Shkhara's base offers a proper physical challenge, while those interested in ancient history find themselves absorbed by the old rock art at Qobustan. The small mountain villages scattered throughout the region create natural opportunities to connect with local life, and these genuine interactions consistently become the highlight of our customers' trips. June through September is ideal for visiting, when hiking trails are accessible and valleys burst with wildflowers. We regularly hear stories from guests who jumped into September wine harvests or found themselves swept up in local festivals with traditional music and dancing.

We've designed our active Georgia tours to mix outdoor fun with real cultural insights. The skiing from our Gudauri base is fantastic - good snow and proper instruction if you need it. In Kakheti's wine country, you can cycle between old monasteries and family wineries with valley views all around. Up near Mount Kazbegi, we run multi-sport trips where you can hike, mountain bike and even try paragliding if you're up for it. Many tours stop at cave cities like Uplistsikhe where climbing through rock passages adds some excitement to the history lesson. Over at Martvili Canyon, you can walk the trails or hop in a raft - the water's crystal clear and the limestone walls make it pretty special.
See all Active toursOur Georgia tours take you deep into the country's varied landscapes and rich culture. The route from Tbilisi winds through the Caucasus Mountains, where you'll walk up to Gergeti Trinity church and discover the ancient UNESCO site of Mtskheta. Our customers often tell us how much they love our local guides - they really know their stuff and share great stories while leading groups through Lagodekhi's forest trails and along the Georgian Military Highway. You'll learn about traditional qvevri winemaking and cook with local families. We've found that mixing planned activities with free time lets you really sink into Georgian life at your own speed.

Local families welcome you into their kitchens to teach you how to fold khinkali dumplings, make sweet churchkhela and bake Georgian bread just right. Most tours stop at Vardzia, where rooms carved into the cliff face tell stories about life on the old Silk Road. Our travelers love sharing meals with Georgian toastmasters, exploring local markets and learning about wine traditions that go back 8,000 years in Kakheti. We work with family guesthouses too, so you'll see what daily life is really like in Georgia.

Looking at Georgia tours, TourRadar's "Around Georgia" gets solid marks from our travelers, especially for including that unique toastmaster evening where guests learn about traditional Georgian wine culture and dining customs. The 5-day format packs in quite a lot, though several travelers mentioned they felt a bit rushed between sites and would have preferred an extra day or two to really settle into each stop. Intrepid's "Georgia Adventure" tour has sparked mixed reactions - while their itineraries cover good ground through both cities and rural areas, quite a few travelers felt the price point didn't match up with what was delivered. The local guides were hit or miss; some absolutely brilliant and others seemed less prepared or engaged with the group. For something different, Explore!'s cycling tour through Georgia consistently earns high marks. Their guide Nika gets special mentions in reviews for bringing Georgian history, culture and also food traditions to life while managing the logistics smoothly. The accommodations were well-chosen too - clean, comfortable and right where you want to be for exploring each area. Travelers particularly appreciated how the cycling routes balanced interesting terrain with accessibility for most fitness levels. The tour companies each have their strengths - TourRadar for comprehensive coverage, Intrepid for diverse locations and Explore! for active travel with strong local expertise. Just keep in mind that the shorter itineraries can feel rushed, so consider opting for longer versions if you want a more relaxed pace.
- 4.5 (11,928 Georgia reviews)
"The tour was good overall, but there wasn't much to do in Mestia and Ushguli other than the hikes, which I would have enjoyed more if they hadn't been quite so difficult. And the roads to get to these destinations were rather treacherous and would have been even more so if the weather had been bad. I know we all agreed to go an excursion to an abandoned solarium near Kutaisi, but IMO, it was a waste of time, even though our guide highly recommended it.

"A very good look at Georgia thanks to the itinerary and our guide (Vakho). Being a private tour meant changes to suit us were possible. Accommodation was good and the included meals were overly generous. For a country that invented wine it was a pity that the wine servings at meals were not as generous as the food.

Your private guide starts in Tbilisi with museum visits when other tourists aren't around. In Kakheti's top wineries, you'll taste bottles that aren't usually available to visitors and chat with the winemakers themselves. The food experiences really stand out - you'll learn to make khinkali dumplings with expert chefs and join traditional Georgian feasts called supras. What our high-end travelers love most are the visits to private family estates and art collections that regular tourists don't get to see.

The weather's just right in summer for getting up into Georgia's mountains. Most of our travelers pick tours heading to Svaneti - it's a place where medieval towers rise against snowy peaks, and the trails take you right up to glaciers and flower-filled meadows. People really love how they can do some solid hiking and then drop by places like Ushguli, this amazing UNESCO village that shows you how mountain life used to be. There's also this great route that combines walks around Mount Kazbegi with visits to families who'll teach you to make proper khinkali dumplings. If you're into wine, we've got tours through the wine regions where you'll spend evenings tasting wines made in clay qvevri pots and joining these incredible family feasts. - Fall / Autumn 2025
The mountains put on quite a show in fall when all the colors change. Our travelers can't say enough good things about hiking in Svaneti with golden forests all around and temperatures that make walking a pleasure. Down in Kakheti, it's all about the rtveli - that's the grape harvest - where you can get hands-on with traditional wine making. We've got several routes that take you through Tbilisi's old streets, out to Mtskheta's UNESCO monuments and up into the Caucasus Mountains where autumn brings these incredibly clear views. What makes these fall tours special is how you can join cooking sessions in local homes and visit small villages to try freshly made churchkhela and wine straight from the press. The path up to Gergeti Trinity Church sees fewer people this time of year and honestly, seeing Mt Kazbeg with all those autumn colors is something else.
