This tour gives and opportunity to travel by many types of vehicles for sight seeing. Accommodations are varied from hotels to resorts including spending night on raft-house or houseboat on river. The tour is well planned and conducted by efficient tour Chief Experience Officers (CEOs). Wish that the information on Optional Tours were more detailed in the brochures of descriptions of the tour.

My partner (35) and myself (31) did the tour in late spring with G-Adventures. we ended up in a group (16 people) with lots of gap-year takers and a few others. The people were in the beginning 20ies, mid 20ies, end 20ies and the two of us. From Great Britan (most of them), Ireland, Iceland, Denmark, 1 Canadian, 2 Russians and us two Austrians - we are still in contact over FB with them! We had definately a blast on the tour. There were just a few things that bothered us (crap hotel in Bangkok, but easily to arrive with public transportation, and a drunken man who run in front of our public travelling bus -> cause of the full brake, the bus nearly broke down....) Our tour was absolutely awesome guided from our local thai lady Cat. We really loved her. She gave us a lot of insight tipps, and recomended always good stuff, except twice, she gave us a wrong information, but really made up for her mistake and organiced us the famous Kampot pepper within 20 minutes!!!!! And she rushed us unexpectetly to grab some stuff for the home stay, when it was already dark to find my suitcase in the bus. But again, she made up again and organiced us and the only other couple separate sleeping rooms with our own very basic bathroom...., instead sharing a room together with two others.... But this was really in the land area of vietnam.... A basic homestay with awesome food! the food she recomended us was always great, we had enough free time our selves, but she always offered us to go with her and with the group!! The travelling and hotel standard is basic, we had some good hotels, some where not so great, but we stayed a maxinum of 2 nights at a hotel, so who cares. even on our last day in Ho chi min city, when my partner and i finished the tour (all of the others travelled further trough Vietnam, Laos and Northern Thailand back to Bangkok) we were able to use the "day rooms", - we paid 2 dollar each - because we left in the evening and where able to shower and freshen up after the Chu Chi Tunnels tour before flying home. The beach time was beautiful unfortunately we stayed at a very dirty beach area, there are far more clean beach areas, in this hotel the luggage boy also broke the handels of our suitcase, smiling "sorry"..... but it was 2 minutes to the beach... If you want some insight into this beautiful but very poooooooor country - sometimes my heart really broke seeing all the poorness - you gotta go now!!!!! Not in 5 years, when the tourism buggers all the locals. (it already did, but the worst where the begging and all the beautician´s at Sihanoukville´s beach, who wouldn´t accept NO´s a dozen times... ) Oh and beginninig of may it was unbelievable hot in south east asia…. average 38 degrees and 60 – 90 % humid air… so really think of when you want to go….

Demographics
Young adults really connect with our more active, social tours around Southeast Asia. The 12-day favorite starts with street food explorations in Ho Chi Minh City before heading to Cambodia's coastal spots. You'll discover ancient temples during daylight hours then join the fun on Siem Reap's famous Pub Street after dark. Another solid choice includes motorbike rides to hidden temples, trying unique dishes at Kep's seafood market and also relaxing on Koh Rong Island's white sand beaches. For those with more time, our 27-day Thailand route keeps you moving - you'll zip through jungles on cables, snorkel in secluded bays, join beach parties and also learn Muay Thai from local boxing trainers.
Our older travelers tend to pick tours offering deeper cultural insights at a relaxed pace. The cycling options are particularly popular, covering 30-50km daily on flat ground with regular stops at temples, markets and also local workshops. Many choose our 18-day heritage route with private transport throughout and carefully picked hotels. You'll visit temples early to avoid crowds and heat, watch traditional shows in Luang Prabang, take scenic river trips and also explore Phnom Penh's colonial buildings. Having guides who know their history makes a big difference - they'll share fascinating details and find perfect spots to watch sunrise at Angkor Wat.
Families heading to Cambodia and Thailand can choose from really well-designed tours that work for all ages. The most loved option includes a full day at Elephant Nature Park near Chiang Mai - kids get super excited watching baby elephants while learning why conservation matters. Another great choice mixes temple visits with hands-on activities like joining cooking classes in Chiang Mai and creating traditional crafts with local artisans. Our 14-day route keeps everyone happy by combining cultural sites with outdoor activities: you'll go snorkeling at Koh Tao, cycle around Angkor's temples and also take bamboo rafts through the jungle. The homestay experiences really seem to click with children, especially when they share traditional meals and games with local families.

Autumn brings ideal cycling weather to southeast Asia. From Bangkok, you'll take quiet roads through Thailand's tapioca fields, temples and also countryside before crossing into Cambodia. It's manageable cycling at 30-50km daily on flat ground, passing fishing villages and rice paddies along the way. There's a great tour combining cycling with cultural sites - you'll bike around Angkor's temples early morning, take Mekong Delta boat trips and cycle through Vietnam's countryside. If you prefer not to cycle, autumn tours focus on cultural experiences with visits to floating markets, Mekong Delta homestays and also guided walks through historic Phnom Penh. Our customers tell us they appreciate the fewer tourists and milder temperatures in autumn, which makes temple visits and village exploration much more enjoyable.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter tours from November through February really shine in Cambodia and Thailand when the cooler weather makes everything more comfortable. You can cycle through Angkor's sites and rural backroads without overheating - our travelers love that. The Heritage route is particularly good, mixing Bangkok's canal scenes with nights in traditional Laotian villages by the Mekong. Food lovers and culture enthusiasts will enjoy learning traditional cooking in Chiang Mai, meeting elephants at sanctuaries and staying with local families in rural Cambodia. For keen cyclists, there are routes covering 70-90km daily through Thailand's eastern provinces and into Cambodia's temple countryside.
