What people love about Yellowstone National Park Tours
- South Dakota to Yellowstone Parks Explorer
Jessica wa great! Our guide she really took care of us - the trip was amazing and I would recommend it. Only complaint- van not that comfy - kind of cramped
- Yellowstone / Grand Teton 4 Day / 3 Night Wildlife Adventure
Mike knows the park very well and where to find the animals. The transport was ok but fairly cramped for 8 people and luggage. The seating should have been rotated as viewing from the back was limited. The 2nd single seat at the door was probably the worst as she had to exit every time to let people out and in. I would definitely recommend this tour as Yellowstone is a beautiful and diverse NP and we could never have done it by ourselves and learnt so much.
- Yellowstone / Grand Teton 4 Day / 3 Night Wildlife Adventure
Fantastic tour. Mike, the guide, was brilliant!

The multi-day Yellowstone treks let you really get to know the park's changing landscapes up close. Our most-loved route takes you up Elephant Back Mountain, where bits of black obsidian catch the light as you make your way to excellent views over Yellowstone Lake. The walk up to Mt. Washburn at 10,000 feet is another highlight - you'll find meadows dotted with wildflowers and often spot bighorn sheep grazing nearby. Daily walks range from 2 to 8 kilometers, and we've got options that work well for different fitness levels and what you're keen to see.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursOur most popular explorer tours of Yellowstone run 4-7 days and really get into the park's key regions. These small groups start with stops at Wall Drug Store and Badlands National Park before heading into Yellowstone itself. What makes these special is the mix of expert guides - our travelers often tell us how much they appreciate learning from Crow Nation guides at Little Bighorn Battlefield and joining naturalists for early morning wolf-tracking. The tours balance must-see sites like Old Faithful with quiet spots most visitors miss, and the guides are pros at positioning groups in Lamar Valley and Hayden Valley where you'll have the best chance of spotting wildlife.

"The scenery and the animals were spectacular. The pace of the tour was great. Our tour guide, Cade, gave us enough time at the stops to see the wildlife. He would search until he found animals to see. We were able to see bears, elk, moose, sheep, wolves, prong horns, sheep. It was an amazing trip. Cade is an amazing guide.

"Amazing camping and hiking experience!! I highly recommend this tour for solo travelers, or if you are traveling with family/friends. I had an amazing experience camping for the first time. We covered two national parks - the Grand Teton and the Yellowstone in 4 days. We did a lot of hiking, we drove around the national parks, stopped to photograph wildlife, and then we stayed the night at the campgrounds. The hikes included the trails around the Genny lake, several geysers, canyons, etc. We ended the days chatting around the campfire. It was a very enjoyable experience. The trip was very well organized, and I had a lot of fun! Hailey has been a great tour guide, and she managed everything really well. The temperatures in the park can swing between 90s (Farenheit) during the day to the 40s at night in the summer - so come prepared.

Seven days gives you room to really get to know Yellowstone. You can start from Bozeman, Jackson Hole or also Salt Lake City - each jumping-off point adds its own twist to the journey. Winter brings unique experiences like tracking wolves with local experts in Lamar Valley and exploring by snow coach. Summer routes blend Yellowstone with Grand Teton, where you'll float down the Snake River, hike to Hidden Falls and also visit the Tribal Heritage Center. Our travelers consistently tell us how much they love the extras - private raptor shows and early morning wildlife tours with park specialists who know just where to spot wolves, bison, elk and also grizzly bears.

If you're traveling solo, you'll find several tours designed to help you connect naturally with other travelers. The 4-day camping trips from Salt Lake City are a hit - people often tell us how quickly they make friends while cooking together and sharing stories around the campfire. Groups stay small at about 13 people, so everyone gets to know each other well. There's also this excellent wildlife tour where you'll join professional guides tracking wolves in Lamar Valley and looking for grizzlies in Hayden Valley. Our solo travelers like how these tours handle all the planning but still give them space for quiet moments in the park. The guides are really good at creating a friendly vibe without pushing it.
The week-long National Geographic Journeys works really well for families - our guests love how it mixes wildlife spotting with hands-on learning at places like the Teton Raptor Center. Kids get excited about the Snake River float trips and the walk up to Hidden Falls. There's also a great option that starts with a Jenny Lake cruise before heading up to Inspiration Point - it's a 200-foot climb that kids 8 and up handle just fine. The guides know how to make geology fun when explaining all the geothermal features, and parents appreciate having some wiggle room to adjust the pace. Families tell us they like having active mornings followed by easier afternoons, and the hotels are picked to be close to the main sights which makes everything run smoother with children.

Best time to visit Yellowstone National Park
- Summer 2025
Summer's long daylight hours mean more time for exploring, and our camping adventures put you right in the park. You'll have evening campfires and early morning wildlife viewing before the crowds arrive. The guided hikes run 2-5 miles depending on what you're up for, and there's rafting on the Snake River too. Our travelers really like tours covering both Yellowstone and Grand Teton - you can walk to Inspiration Point, explore Jenny Lake and watch the geysers when they're most active. The best summer tours start with early wildlife safaris in Lamar Valley, include stops at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center and take you through all the main geyser basins.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Fall tours catch wildlife getting ready for winter, with great autumn colors as your backdrop. Wolf watching gets especially good in Lamar Valley as pack activity picks up, and our specialist guides know just where to look. Several tours loop through both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks when the crowds thin out and animals are extra active. Our travelers love camping under clear autumn skies while guides cook and share stories around the fire. The cool weather works perfectly for mixing hiking with wildlife spotting, especially around Jenny Lake and along Storm Point Trail where you might catch yellow-bellied marmots soaking up the last warm days. Based on what our travelers tell us, BrushBuck guides Mike and Daniel really know their stuff when it comes to spotting and explaining Yellowstone's wildlife. You'll get solid wildlife viewing chances and interesting commentary about the park's ecosystem, though some folks mentioned the vehicles can feel a bit tight during longer drives. Bindlestiff Tours does a nice job with their Yellowstone and Grand Teton trips - guide Hogan Malek especially gets lots of positive feedback from customers for making the parks come alive. Just keep in mind that if you're looking at their camping options, a few travelers mentioned wanting more structure in the camp setup and daily routines. Both companies deliver good wildlife experiences, but they each have their own style. BrushBuck focuses heavily on animal viewing and naturalist expertise, while Bindlestiff offers a broader park experience that includes camping, hiking and also cultural sites.
