What people love about Adriatic Tours
- Balkan Extended - Ljubljana to Dubrovnik
Tour far exceeded my expectations; & superlatives to describe my excitement & joy. Tour Guide Marko was always professional & kind, adjusting to my pace. He lent me his arm on stairs without railings, and slippery wet cobblestones. I chose this tour & dates to parallel World Cup matches, esp following Croatia & Serbia when in their countries. Marko was an excellent driver, listener, & always punctual. I wouldn't change a thing. THANK YOU!
- 4-day Split to Dubrovnik One-way Cruise - Classic Plus above-deck, 18-35s
Amazing group, the best guide (Vlad is the man) and crew (Cheers Lovre and Brane), beautiful country, great food and weather. Totally worth the money if you are looking for a short cruise that ticks all the boxes.
- 5-day Dubrovnik to Split one-way cruise - Classic Plus above-deck, 18-35s
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I signed up for this tour. I was pleasantly surprised with the rooms and the bathrooms, we were below deck and our room was a lot bigger than we were expecting. We were one of the only people to have our bathroom seperate from our room (it was only ours to use) instead of an ensuite, this was bad in the fact that we had to take everything we wanted with us to the bathroom (only across the hall) but good in the fact that it meant our room was bigger because it didnt have to accomodate for the ensuite. The aircon in the room was amazing, we kept it as low it could go because it helped me feel less sea sick. The food was unbelievably good, it was a 3 course meal every lunch and they catered exceptionally well to allergies. Breakfast was pretty good, it was the same every day- bread, cheese, deli meat and fruit which was not the ripest at times (but we're on a boat so couldn't complain) The crew were very nice, their english was great and were always happy to help. The swim stops were the best part of the tour for me, I just wish we had more of them and we they went for longer. Because one jump off the boat and 10 minutes in the water just didnt seem long enough, I would have rather spent more time at a swim stop than docking earlier and spending all of the afternoon on the land. I was very happy with the entire tour and would recommend everyone to check it out if they are in croatia. It was a great way to see Croatia and meet some new people.

Croatia's Plitvice Lakes trek stands out among our hiking routes - wooden walkways guide you past 16 connected lakes and waterfalls. For a real workout, take on the historic Premuziceva Trail through the Velebit Mountains, a remarkable 57km route built back in the 1930s that shows off northern Croatia's hidden spots. The paths around Paklenica National Park lead through limestone gorges and up to old monasteries, while coastal walks near Zadar mix sea views with stops in local villages. Between Korcula and Dubrovnik, you can switch between forest paths and seaside trails. Our local guides make these walks special by sharing tales about abandoned summer settlements and the ancient stone Mirila monuments you'll spot along the way.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursIsland-hopping active tours pack each day with variety - morning sea kayaking to hidden caves and afternoon rides through olive groves. Families tend to love our Lopud Island base where kids try stand-up paddleboarding in sheltered bays and learn picigin, a traditional beach game. More experienced travelers choose programs that combine hiking Paklenica's gorges with climbing on quality limestone walls. On Sipan Island, multi-sport trips mix biking past historic churches and swimming in clear coves. Our customers say these active tours hit the sweet spot between physical challenge and also cultural experiences.
See all Active toursThe cycling routes along the Dalmatian Coast start nice and easy from Split before heading out to the islands. On Brac, you'll ride past centuries-old olive groves and the limestone quarries that provided stone for Vienna's Parliament building. The routes through Hvar take you between lavender fields and small villages, with stops at local wineries along the way. Our cyclists tell us they really like the Peljesac Peninsula section, where quiet roads curve past vineyards and give you great views over the bays. The guides know exactly where to stop for swims and share interesting historical details that bring the whole region to life.

Quick to respond and information provided is clear and unambiguous so there are no surprises. I had a very enjoyable and memorable private tour in Montenegro and Croatia, thanks also to the local agency that arranged the logistics. "This is a difficult review to write. The actual cruise with Katarina Cruise Line on the Fantazija was a 10/10. It was an excellent introduction to such a beautiful country. The crew on the boat were very personable and attentive. Filip, the Crew Manager was definitely a 20/10. He did everything he could to make the trip a memorable experience, especially when the boat had to stay in Dubrovnik for two nights because of the rough seas. He made sure we barely noticed the difference. Our room in the lower deck was large and very comfortable. With a max of 38 travelers, we had the opportunity to get to know several guests. We stayed 3 additional nights at the Plazza Heritage Hotel in the Split Historic District, which was a real treat. And now for the not so good part. Nature Trips gets a 2/10. Omar didn't communicate well. I had to actually call Tour Radar twice to get him to respond to my concerns. I discovered that 3 additional nights in Split were done through Expedia. Nature Trips over charged by more than $1,000. I had to go through Tour Radar to get him to realize what had happened as he was not responding to my message. On the plus side, he did respond to have the voucher ready early as we were first going to Turkey. On Oct. 12, the airport transfer was to pick us up at 3:30 a.m. The voucher only said the driver would wait for us with our name on a sign. The only problem is that the driver couldn't drive into the historic district. We had no idea where to meet him. I sent Omar a message asking him to confirm the transfer and where we should meet the driver. As usual, Omar didn't respond. The contact number printed on the voucher was missing a number. I finally found a number to find out it was no longer in service. Two receptionists at the hotel tried their best to contact someone with negative results. At 3:40 a.m. the night receptionist walked with us to where we could catch a taxi to the airport. I have sent Omar another message explaining what we had to do and that I expect him to credit us back the 50 euros it cost to take the taxi, as the airport transfer was included. Naturally, I've heard nothing back. I shall have to call Tour Radar once again. In conclusion, if I had this to do again, I would book directly with Katarina Line, Plazza Heritage Hotel, and arrange for airport transfers. I choose to book through a tour agent to receive personal attention while traveling. Nature Trips failed on this account. We had a 20/10 experience with Iglesias Tours in Turkey, so this was a big let down.

Demographics
The Zagreb to Dubrovnik routes work brilliantly for solo travelers - you'll share costs on rooms while keeping the freedom to do your own thing. Our independent explorers tell us they love having all the logistics sorted but still getting free afternoons to discover Split's hidden spots or join optional boat trips after morning activities like guided walks through Diocletian's Palace. The group dynamic really comes alive at places like Plitvice Lakes National Park, where travelers swap photography tips and take turns getting everyone's photos with those multi-layered waterfalls in the background. You can join the group dinners or branch off to find local restaurants - it's totally up to you.
Our Split-Dubrovnik sailing routes attract young adults who want a social scene and also some culture. The 4-8 day trips mix swimming in quiet bays with evenings exploring Hvar's bars and Dubrovnik's waterfront lounges. Your boat docks right in town, making it easy to join crew BBQ nights and group dinners before heading out or doing your own thing. During the day, you can go buggy riding above Dubrovnik, cycle through Mljet National Park or just swim at a different island each day. The guides know all the good spots - from beach clubs worth your time to local restaurants that won't break the bank. The whole vibe stays casual and social without being too structured.
Along Croatia's Adriatic coast, our luxury small-ship cruises earn consistent praise from senior travelers who value the mix of comfort and cultural immersion. Starting from Split, the island-hopping routes weave together UNESCO site visits and leisurely afternoons, while the professional crew takes care of all the details behind the scenes. Solo travelers in their 70s often mention how much they appreciate the intimate atmosphere, immaculate cabins and fresh Mediterranean cuisine served in elegant dining spaces. The Dalmatian cycling tours offer a different pace, with both standard bikes and e-bikes available for routes covering 35-45km each day through Brac's ancient olive groves, coastal paths and also Hvar's gentle terrain. These premium tours include upscale 4-5 star accommodations, support vehicles and local expert guides who adjust the cycling tempo to match each group's preferences. Our mature guests particularly connect with the guided walks through Korcula's medieval quarters and intimate wine tastings at family vineyards, as these activities blend cultural discoveries with a comfortable, unhurried pace.
Our family groups really connect with the island-hopping routes around Dubrovnik and the Croatian coast. Kids get excited about kayaking to Sunj Beach where they learn Picigin (a local beach game) in the shallow waters, while parents love how the active fun mixes with cultural stops. The routes take you to caves only accessible by boat and give everyone a chance to learn about old island traditions. When we dock at Sipan Island, families can cycle traffic-free paths past olive groves and wild fig trees - our young travelers love picking fresh figs as they ride. The swimming spots around Sipan are perfect for snorkeling and even some cliff jumping, though we balance that energy with interesting visits to places like Dubrovnik's Old Town. Most groups stay based on quiet Lopud Island, where the kids can swim right off the beach near their rooms.

Best time to visit Adriatic
- Spring 2025
By spring, conditions are just right for cycling and sailing the coast. Cyclists cover about 35-45km each day, winding through Korcula's medieval lanes and past Hvar's hilltop vineyards. The April and May sailing conditions really deliver - steady winds and calm seas make island hopping a joy. Over at Plitvice Lakes, walking tours catch the waterfalls at full power from the winter melt. We always work in cultural stops too, like visits to Trogir's UNESCO old town and local wineries just opening their doors for the season.

Summer tours naturally lean into swimming, sailing and culture. The island-hopping routes take you to hidden bays around the Pakleni Islands and sea caves near Sipan. Our travelers tell us they love starting with early walks through old towns before it heats up, then cooling off at spots like Zlatni Rat beach later on. Sailing trips mix busier stops like Hvar Town with quiet coves perfect for paddleboarding and snorkeling. As evening comes, we often visit places like Dubrovnik's walls when the heat drops and the light turns golden for photos.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Autumn brings that sweet spot for active coastal trips. The September and October weather hits just right for our cycling groups - warm enough to swim but perfect for pedaling through Brac's olive groves and Korcula's vineyards. Walking tours can really take their time in places like Mljet National Park's pine forests and lakes without summer crowds. It's also when we catch local olive oil tastings and wine harvests in full swing. Our customers say they love how the mellower temps and quieter towns let them get closer to local life and traditions. Based on their guide Luca, Outdoor Croatia really knows how to keep families happy with activities that work for everyone. Kids and parents tell us they love getting out on the water for stand-up paddle boarding and working up an appetite with some cliff jumping - though there's no pressure if you prefer to watch. The day wraps up nicely with a proper Croatian dinner at a local farm where everything's fresh from the garden. If you're after a cycling holiday with some extra comfort, Laganini has built quite a reputation. They've got the logistics sorted with quality bikes and carefully chosen hotels, plus they make sure you're well fed with some really good local food along the way. Our travelers consistently give Intrepid Travel solid feedback for their Croatian tours. Their local guides actually live in the areas you're visiting, which makes a real difference - they know exactly where to take you and can share genuine local knowledge rather than just tourist facts. Katerina Lines runs good cruises with excellent food and well-planned stops, though some of our customers mention they'd prefer adult-only sailing options. Their crew is professional and their excursions hit the right spots, but if you're after a quieter atmosphere you might want to check when families are less likely to book.
