Bunica Maria at Mahmudia is an excellent base to see the Danube Delta Reserve and some of the surrounding area, which is representative of the entire Delta area. Our boat trips showed how this wetland environment is varied and included several lakes. The lodging, as well as the provision of the meals, were a family affair and both were definitely top-notch. I enjoyed so much the variation of fish dishes. Andrei, our guide and host, was excellent and showed a deep love and appreciation of the Delta. Andrei provided an enjoyable and congenial environment for everyone. His boat was very comfortable and provided excellent viewing of the surroundings. He was very knowledgeable about the biodiversity and enthusiastic and helpful in conveying this information to the tour participants. The many species of waterfowl as well as other bird species were the main attraction and I doubt could be seen anywhere else.

Great experience, guide Andrei was knowledgable, enthusiastic, friendly, and professional. He went out of his way to ensure that our group of 4 had an enjoyable and satisfactory experience. Accomodations were terrific, as were the home-cooked meals that were included. Would recommend!

"We liked how easy going the itinerary was as we were on a different tour prior to this and it was just nonstop go go go. That said, there was a lot of down time to rest & recover so I think 3 nights vs 4 would’ve sufficed. Nonetheless our experience was good. The customer service was super responsive and reliable. Our driver made us feel safe and comfortable given the roads were narrow and slippery from the rain. Our tour guide was very warm and welcoming and took her time to show us around. The accommodation was superb. The host made us wonderful breakfast and the view was to die for. I would recommend anyone planning to visit Rize/Trabzon to book with this tour.
