What people love about Camino De Santiago Tours
- Walking the Camino de Santiago
Had a great time met some lovely people. Our guide was fantastic, very supportive and helpful.
- Walking the Camino de Santiago
The tour was terrific. It was very taxing, but extremely satisfying. Mateusz was amazing - so thoughtful and considerate of all the peregrinos in our group. He made a special effort to consider everyone’s level and addressed each of us appropriately. He is a thoughtful and kind person- exceptionally right as a guide for this tour.
- Walking the Camino de Santiago
Our tour guide Els was fabulous and made this trip so successful. I am sure we were a challenging group - we had an elderly lady on the trip who really was not up to it and sickness in the group. Els dealt with it all and did not lose her patience. She was extremely kind, friendly and helpful. I found the walk challenging but enjoyed the scenery, the historic villages and the comraderie of the group and other travellers we met along the way.

The Camino's guided treks range from 8 to 14 days, with the León starting point being especially popular among our hikers. Daily walks cover 17-28km, giving you proper time to explore those small medieval villages that dot the route. Many of our travelers tell us the Foncebadon to Molinaseca section really stands out - you'll climb to Cruz de Ferro at 1,482m, which often becomes their favorite memory of the trip. If you're looking for a shorter option, the final 100km from Sarria works really well. The local guides there know every detail about places like Portomarin (a town that was actually moved stone by stone) and the fascinating Celtic settlement of O'Cebreiro.

Discover Camino de Santiago tours for every budget
The French Way offers some really practical cycling options if you're watching your budget. You'll cover about 80km each day on the guided route from St Jean Pied de Port, with your bags moved ahead for you. These tours mix stays between basic hotels and traditional albergues - it's a nice balance that keeps costs down while giving you the real pilgrim experience. A lot of our cyclists choose to start from León when time is tight; you still get the route highlights but in a shorter package. What works well here is how you can properly take in the culture even while covering distance. There's always time to check out those Gothic cathedrals, try local dishes and get your pilgrim passport stamped along the way.
The high-end Camino tours blend active travel with truly exceptional stays. You'll rest in converted monasteries and historic paradors - the one in León is particularly special, a Renaissance building that's housed pilgrims for centuries. These premium tours include carefully chosen stops at La Rioja wineries and top regional restaurants. Our travelers tell us what makes these worth it is the seamless service; your luggage appears at each premium hotel like magic and the expert guides have perfect timing about when to push on or pause at historical sites. With private transfers and special cultural site access included, you can focus completely on the Camino's spiritual side while enjoying all the comforts.

Top Camino de Santiago travel itineraries to fit your plans
The week-long Camino walks cover the final 100km from Sarria to Santiago, with daily distances of 20-25km through Galicia's rolling countryside. Our travelers particularly enjoy exploring Portomarin - a fascinating town that was moved stone by stone from its original location - and trying the local fire drink made with oruju liqueur and coffee beans. You'll walk through medieval villages, oak forests and past plenty of spots to try regional specialties. The fresh cheese in Arzua and the octopus dishes in Melide are always highlights that our customers rave about. It's an ideal choice for first-time pilgrims looking to earn their Compostela certificate while having the practical details like accommodation and luggage transfers taken care of.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Sarria, Portomarin, Palas de Rei, Arzua, Pedrouzo, Santiago de Compostela
The 10-day Camino routes come in two distinct varieties - follow the Portuguese coast from Porto to Santiago or take the French Way from León. The coastal path treats you to quiet beaches, traditional fishing villages and excellent seafood, especially the fresh oysters in Arcade that our groups can't get enough of. Walking northward through Galicia reveals Celtic heritage sites and historic towns like Pontevedra. Choose the French Way from León for Spain's architectural gems, including León's impressive Gothic cathedral and the medieval bridge at Hospital de Orbigo. Both options give you time to properly discover places like O'Cebreiro's Celtic village and enjoy long, leisurely lunches featuring local dishes.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Tui, O Porrino, Redondela, Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis, Padron, Santiago de Compostela
Our 14-day cycling tours of the Camino Frances start in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and cover 780km total, with daily rides between 47-95km through constantly changing landscapes. Day one sets the tone as you tackle the Pyrenees - it's challenging but worth every pedal stroke. Our cyclists love cruising through Rioja's vineyards, exploring Burgos' Gothic quarter and conquering the climb to O'Cebreiro at 1,335m. You'll get rest days in key cities like Burgos and León to explore historical sites and give your legs a break. The final sunrise ride into Santiago is always special, with our groups telling us it's the perfect way to complete their pilgrimage journey.

Burgos, Castrojeriz, Fromista, Carrion de los Condes, Sahagun, El Burgo Ranero, Mansilla de las Mulas, Leon
Demographics
You'll find natural friendships forming on our Portuguese Camino and French Way tours - it's what makes them so good for solo travelers. The coastal route from Porto keeps things manageable with 19km daily walks, following the sea before moving inland through Galicia's forests and old towns. Our travelers really enjoy stopping for oysters in Arcade and trying wines near Padron. If you're after more social connections, the French Way from León works well - you'll walk 22-28km each day and likely make some good friends along the way. What works especially well here is how you get both group time and quiet moments, plus our guides handle all the details so you can focus on walking your own path.
The Portuguese Coastal Camino fits couples perfectly, with walks that blend seaside paths and cozy stops in towns like Baiona - great for sharing local seafood and Rias Biaxas wines together. Cycling couples often pick the French Way, where you'll cover 47-95km daily but still have time to wander through medieval towns as a pair. Walking from Sarria gives you that nice mix of exercise and local culture, and our couples particularly like staying in family-run farmhouses and sharing authentic Galician dinners. These routes work so well for pairs because your active days lead into relaxed evenings exploring local food and wine together.
The French Way cycling tours really click with younger travelers - you'll push yourself with 60-90km daily rides while soaking up the culture too. Starting in Roncesvalles, you get some fantastic riding including that incredible downhill from O'Cebreiro and crossing the old bridge at Puente Villarente. Young adults also love our Portuguese Coastal route for its variety - one minute you're on beaches, next you're in historic towns, then you're crossing into Spain. The tours mix structured riding or walking with free time to check out places like Porto and Vigo, plus plenty of chances to meet other pilgrims over tapas and wine.
Our Sarria tours work really well for older travelers, with manageable 15-20km daily walks through gentle Galician landscapes. You'll find plenty of stops at old churches and villages along the way, and we've got transport backup if needed. Our older guests often tell us how much they appreciate our guides who share the Camino's stories while making sure everyone walks at their own pace. The Portuguese Coastal route is another solid choice with shorter walks on flat coastal paths. Our senior travelers consistently say these tours hit the sweet spot between walking and culture, with nice hotels and real regional food making it even better.

- Spring 2025
Spring opens up all our Camino routes. The Portuguese Coastal path from Porto offers ideal walking weather, and our travelers love mixing seaside trails with historic stops in Vigo and also Redondela. From April through May, our French Way tours starting in León draw both cyclists and walkers with great conditions for varied terrain. Keen cyclists choose the full Roncesvalles route in spring, covering between 47-95km daily through countryside in bloom. The Sarria to Santiago section really shines with wildflowers lining the paths and local farms selling fresh produce. Those longer 27km days between Melide and Arzúa feel much nicer in the gentler spring weather.

- Summer 2025
Summer brings a lively feel to the Camino. Our French Way walking tours from León adapt well to summer with early starts beating the heat and carefully picked accommodations that stay cool. Many pick the Portuguese Coastal route for summer walking, with nice chances to swim at spots like Praia De Samil. We adjust cycling distances for summer weather, and our travelers really value having support vehicles carrying extra water. Even in July and August, the final 100km stays popular - our guides know all the shaded paths and time rest stops perfectly at village cafes and churches between Sarria and also Santiago.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Fall provides perfect conditions across our Camino routes. September and October are fantastic on the Portuguese Coastal path, with clear days giving great views over the Bay of Vigo and quiet walking along the shore. Cyclists on the French Way love how the fall light hits the Meseta and appreciate cooler temps for big climbs like Cruz de Ferro. Walking from León gets perfect hiking weather, while the Sarria section shows off fall colors in oak and chestnut woods. Our travelers particularly enjoy autumn's harvest - you'll find the best Arzúa cheese and Melide's famous octopus right in season. Looking at the guided cycling companies along the Camino de Santiago, ExperiencePlus! stands out for good reasons - their guides consistently get amazing feedback from our travelers, who often mention how they blend local cultural knowledge with a great sense of humor. The support vans are always there when needed, and they handle the logistics really smoothly. Intrepid has built a solid reputation specifically on the Portuguese Camino route. Their tour leaders know exactly how to pace the days, they've picked really comfortable places to stay and they're particularly good at keeping the group flowing well together. The hotels they use are well-chosen and strategically placed along the route. If you're considering the self-guided option, UTracks does provide the basic support structure you need. However, it's worth noting that several cyclists have mentioned challenges reaching their emergency support team when issues came up. The communication wasn't as quick or clear as they expected, which is something to factor into your planning especially if you prefer having reliable backup available. Between these options, ExperiencePlus! and Intrepid tend to deliver the most consistent, well-supported experiences for cyclists who want that extra layer of guidance and local expertise while tackling the Camino routes.
