It was the biggest adventure I have done so far, full of breathtaking moments, the opportunity to walk just for me or next to other group members and the possibility to fully escape everyday life. I’m just back and already considering what tour I’ll book next. I highly recommend this tour to all adventurers.
- Annapurna Kora Trek
Me and my four other friends went to Annapurna Circuit Trek during March 2022. We really had a great time and experience. The team at World Travel Experiences worked very professionally, itinerary design and content were perfect to match the available time and an options for side trip. We will definately travel with WTX whenever we plan a visit to Nepal.
Travel Annapurna Circuit your way
The full Annapurna trek takes 14-16 days, and we always include that extra day in Manang for proper altitude adjustment - our hikers tell us it makes all the difference. You'll walk through Gurung communities, see the Manang district's biggest monastery and tackle the tough climb over Thorong La Pass at 5,416m. If you're short on time, our 10-day route still gets you across the pass and to Muktinath's temples. For something special, add Tilicho Lake to your circuit - it sits at 4,919m and the morning light makes the lake and mountains look incredible in photos. The hot springs at Tatopani are perfect after the high-altitude sections, and near Thorong Phedi you might spot blue sheep or even catch a glimpse of the elusive snow leopard.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursBeyond regular trekking, there are some really interesting ways to explore the Annapurna Circuit. Mountain biking has taken off here, following old trading routes from Besisahar through the Marshyangdi Valley. The descent from Thorong La Pass to Muktinath is a highlight - you can ride about 95% of it and the views just keep coming. Some travelers prefer mixing hiking and biking, walking the steep bits and cycling the gentler valleys. Our guides are good at reading the group and adjusting the daily plan based on energy levels and weather. The 12-14 day tours include extra days for weather changes or altitude adjustment, and cyclists often tell us they love having more time in places like Manang and Marpha, where they can really get to know the villages and try local specialties like the apple brandy.

"My friend and I went on this tour and we had the most enjoyable time on our first trip to Nepal! Ram, our trekking guide, was very kind and knowledgeable, and took care of us throughout the time that we were hiking the Annapurna circuit. We had an awesome hike through the beautiful Himalayan mountains thanks to the kindness and generosity of the locals, and the patience and good humour of our guide and porter. I will recommend this tour and company to anyone who is interested in hiking in Nepal :)

The 10-day Annapurna Circuit hits all the key spots at a quicker pace. We start from Besisahar and take a jeep through the lower sections to save time for the actual trek. The trail winds through thick forests to Pisang village before climbing up to Manang. Here's where our guides schedule a vital acclimatization day with short hikes to Gangapurna Lake. Our travelers often mention how the professional guides really know their stuff about altitude adjustment - they've got the timing down perfectly for when to push forward and when to take it easy. The big challenge comes at Thorong La Pass at 5,416m, followed by a long descent that takes you down to Muktinath with its sacred temples and also Jomsom.

Having those extra days means you can properly explore spots like Braga monastery near Manang and spend quality time with Gurung families in their villages. The longer schedule means better acclimatization stops at places like Yak Kharka and Thorong Phedi before tackling the big pass. Our guides get you up early for crossing Thorong La, timing it just right to miss those afternoon winds. After you make it down to Muktinath, there's time to check out the temples and learn why they're so important to Hindu and also Buddhist pilgrims. The trip wraps up with either a flight or drive back to Pokhara where you can kick back by Phewa Lake. Demographics
The Annapurna Circuit really works well for solo travelers, with flexible 12-14 day tours that adapt to your own pace. The guides match your walking speed and help you navigate the more challenging bits, especially near Thorong La Pass. You'll get proper time to adjust to the altitude in Manang - most of our solo travelers spend their acclimatization days exploring Gangapurna Lake and checking out the Himalayan Rescue Association. The social scene in the teahouses is great too; plenty of our customers tell us about evening card games with their guides and making friends with trekkers from all over. Starting from Besisahar, the route through Marsyangdi Valley gives you time to find your own rhythm and also get comfortable with the terrain.
Our 12-15 day circuits hit the sweet spot for younger travelers, mixing real cultural experiences with proper mountain hiking. You can take on extra challenges like hiking up to Poon Hill for sunrise or exploring the massive Barge Monastery in Manang. The social vibe is great in places like Ghorepani and also Muktinath, where you'll find yourself sharing stories with other trekkers. There's some real adventure crossing suspension bridges and working your way through mountain passes, but we keep it safe with proper altitude stops. Our younger customers love how the route blends physical challenges with local life - you'll visit traditional Gurung villages and get to try Marpha's famous apple brandy.
Our 13-14 day circuits work really well for senior travelers because we've built in smart pacing. We add extra time around Manang for altitude adjustment, which our older customers say makes all the difference. The guides know exactly when to adjust the route based on how you're feeling, and they're always ready with extra support when needed. Many of our senior travelers tell us they particularly enjoy connecting with village communities, visiting old monasteries and learning about local customs. We use comfortable teahouses along the way, and you can always take an extra rest day, especially before taking on the higher sections near Thorong La Pass.

- Spring 2025
Spring really shows off what makes the Annapurna Circuit special, with our 14-21 day journeys giving you time to take it all in. The trails between Tal and Dharapani wind through rhododendron forests in full bloom, and the air is remarkably clear for mountain photos in March and April. You'll get great shots of Annapurna II, Gangapurna and also Tilicho Peak. We've carefully placed rest days along the route - partly for altitude adjustment but also to explore places like Braga monastery, where you can join the morning prayers with those snow peaks as your backdrop.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Autumn brings perfect trekking weather, and our 12-15 day routes blend physical challenge with local culture. You'll spend extra time in Gurung villages learning traditional customs - some travelers even try making yak cheese. The October and November weather patterns work well for crossing Thorong La Pass, and our guides plan the climb so you hit the summit at sunrise for views over Mustang. What our clients really love is getting involved with local life - helping with the apple harvest in Marpha or joining festivals in Manang makes these fall trips feel genuine and personal. Looking at the top trekking companies for the Annapurna Circuit, Ace the Himalaya comes highly recommended by our travelers - including a 70-year-old client who had what they called their best travel experience. World Travel Experiences (WTX) has built a solid reputation among groups of friends who've taken their tours, noting the professional service and thoughtfully planned routes. For those going solo, Nepal Hiking Team makes the logistics simple - their guide Ramesh gets mentioned often in reviews for his deep knowledge of the region, culture and trail conditions. Alpine Ramble rounds out the top picks, with Dil and his team earning praise for their careful planning, practical support and attention to all the small details that matter when you're up in the mountains. Each of these operators knows the circuit inside out, handles permits efficiently and uses quality lodges along the route. Our travelers particularly value how they manage altitude acclimatization schedules, coordinate porters and keep group sizes manageable for a better hiking experience.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
The winter Annapurna Circuit tours are all about proper cold-weather preparation. Our 12-day routes start with detailed gear sessions in Kathmandu before heading out. The teahouses we use have good heating systems - you'll appreciate that after crossing high suspension bridges in the winter chill. What makes these trips work so well is how the guides handle winter conditions. They know the exact timing for Thorong La Pass to avoid afternoon winds and have plenty of experience managing snowy sections on the upper trails. The extra acclimatization time in Manang lets you adjust safely to the altitude.
