What people love about Malaysia And Singapore Tours
- Malaysia and Singapore Highlights (8 Days)
This tour is perfect is you have a short amount of time to see some spectacular sites. Lots of historical sites and interesting spots will be visited so be prepared to have little sleep, but it’s definitely worth it
- Tailor-Made Singapore & Malaysia Tour, Daily Start & Private Guide
Excellent hotels and locations. Agate Travel was very responsible. We did have two credit cards stolen and used — so our driver took us to make a police report.
- Highlights of Singapore and Malaysia (12 Days)
The whole trip was excellent. We have a question that we have forwarded to Trafalger with no response. Why did we have to pay room charges when we first arrived at the hotel? We had been travelling for nearly 24 hours and needed to have access to our room but we had to pay!! Also as we finished the tour a day earlier and did not have the farewell meal or stay the final night are we not due a refund?
What our customers ask about Malaysia and Singapore Tours & Trips
How long should I spend exploring Singapore and Malaysia?
Most travelers find a week in each country works really well letting you soak in the main sights without rushing. If you can swing it though go for about 14 days to really get the full experience of both places. You'll want that extra time to explore the cities properly relax on Langkawi's beaches and really understand the local culture. The Highlights tour that runs for 14 days is perfect actually - you'll get to stand in awe at the massive Batu Caves see the incredible Petronas Towers up close and wander through Singapore's amazing futuristic gardens.
What local food should I try and where can I find the best spots?
Penang's your go-to for amazing street food that blends Malaysian and Indian flavors in the most incredible ways. Just wandering through Georgetown's historic streets you'll find these fantastic hawker centers serving up dishes like nasi lemak ayam. When you're in Singapore head to Chinatown for some authentic Song Fa Bak Kut Teh - it's this amazing spare ribs soup that locals love. The Food tour to Malaysia and Singapore is great for this you'll get to taste Penang's famous dishes explore morning markets and really dig into Georgetown's food scene.
What's the easiest way to travel between these countries?
You've got a few good options here. There are direct flights from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur which is usually where people start their Malaysia adventure. If you're watching your budget the bus is actually really convenient - it takes about 4-5 hours crossing the causeway. For something more interesting try the train it gives you these amazing views of Malaysia's countryside. There's actually a Singapore & Malaysia by Train tour that includes a really scenic railway journey plus you get to explore Georgetown with locals and even learn to cook traditional Peranakan dishes.
Which local cultural experiences can I join in with?
In Malaysia you can learn to make traditional Labu Sayong earthenware jugs in Kuala Kangsar it's really fascinating. Over in Georgetown you can join cooking classes to learn about Peranakan cuisine while Singapore offers these amazing Chinese Calligraphy demonstrations. The 12-day Highlights tour takes you right to Kuala Kangsar for the Labu Sayong experience and includes watching skilled calligraphers at work in Singapore.
How do I get around in Malaysia and Singapore?
Singapore's got this super efficient MRT system that'll get you pretty much anywhere you want to go with trains running really frequently. In Malaysia the intercity trains are great for longer trips especially if you're heading to places like Penang or the Cameron Highlands. Both countries have Grab which works just like Uber - really convenient for getting door-to-door. If you're up for something different the 8-day Malaysia and Singapore Highlights tour includes cycling around Penang which is a fantastic way to explore the city.
