Reviews of Small Group tours to Grand Canyon
- Grand Canyon and More 3 day tour
Thank you guys for an incredible experience, I have just returned from the 3 day Grand Canyon and more trip and was over the moon with it. It is a fairly busy schedule but there was plenty of time to see everything and the guide was knowledgeable and informative. The Antelope canyon option is a must, the place is amazing and the Grand Canyon has to be seen, I found the first sight of the canyon quite emotional, it really is incredible. All I can say is if you are considering this tour, just do it…..we came from the UK just to do this tour and would use Bindlestiff again in a heartbeat.”
- National Parks Winter Tour
I did the 3 day tour and it was fantastic! We saw so much and there was a lot of driving but, I didn't feel like I was stuck in a car the whole time. Mike was a great guide/ driver and really looked after us all. Really knowledgeable too. Thank you!
What our customers ask about Grand Canyon Small Group Tours
What time of year is best for small group tours in Grand Canyon National Park?
The prime seasons for small group tours are spring (March-May) and fall (September-November). These months provide comfortable temperatures for hiking popular trails like Bright Angel and South Kaibab. The North Rim Lodge welcomes small groups from May through October offering a less crowded experience. A TourRadar traveler shared "our October small group tour had perfect weather and fewer crowds at popular spots like Plateau Point and Indian Garden."
What unique access do small group tours have in Grand Canyon National Park?
Small group tours can reach quieter sections of the Grand Canyon that larger tours can't access. This includes remote viewpoints along Bright Angel Trail and South Kaibab Trail plus hidden spots like Dripping Springs and Waldron Basin. Groups often stay at notable locations such as the El Tovar Hotel on the South Rim and get special access to ranger programs. As noted by a TourRadar traveler: "Another highlight was morning at the Watchtower at the Grand Canyon - ours were the first steps in the overnight snow dusting and the morning was magical."
What are the accommodation options for small group tours at Grand Canyon?
Lodging options focus on properties near the canyon rim including the classic El Tovar Hotel and Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim. Other popular choices include The Grand Hotel and The Squire Inn by the South Rim which provide comfortable rooms with easy access to key viewpoints. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "We were very happy with the standard of accommodation which was spacious and very comfortable after a long day."
What unique experiences can I expect on a small group tour at Grand Canyon National Park?
Small groups can explore less-visited areas like Thunder River and Deer Creek Narrows. The tours include wildlife viewing photography at key spots like Surprise Valley and detailed geology talks at sites like the Esplanade. Accommodations include stays at historic properties like El Tovar Hotel or Bright Angel Lodge. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The small group size allowed us to explore hidden gems and secret viewpoints that larger tours simply can't access."
How does transportation arrangements differ for small group tours in Grand Canyon National Park?
Transportation typically involves 14-passenger vans or SUVs rather than large buses allowing access to remote trailheads like Grandview Point and Bright Angel Lodge. These smaller vehicles make it possible to reach viewpoints at the best times for photography while avoiding peak crowds. One TourRadar traveler mentioned "traveling in a small van made it easy to stop at additional viewpoints and gave us more flexibility with our schedule."
What is the ideal group size for hiking tours in Grand Canyon National Park?
The optimal group size ranges from 4-12 people ensuring personal attention and easy movement on narrow paths like South Kaibab Trail and Bright Angel Trail. This size works well for dining at places like the Historic El Tovar Hotel and Grand Canyon Lodge. According to TourRadar travelers "the small group size made the experience much more personal and allowed for flexibility in hiking speeds and rest stops along the challenging trails."
