What people love about Active Tours in Albania
- Highlights of Albania
We were very disappointed that the itinerary was changed from a supposedly 10 day tour to an 8 day tour...there was no program on either the first or last day and everything was crammed into 8 days giving us less time to enjoy the attractions. Therefore for 6 days the itinerary altered from the advertised program. We chose tour tour as it had a.good itinerary and were not happy with the outcome.
- Small Group Tour; Peaks of the Balkans – Theth, Valbona & Koman Lake
One of the best trips. This was an amazing tour- incredible scenery, friendly local people, mountain food such as cheese and home baked bread. We had such a pleasure hiking and climbing together. Our tour guide was extremely friendly and helpful. I will strongly recommend this tour.
- Cycling in Albania
Great organisation, encouragement and Albania by bike is a beautiful way to see the south of the country!
What our customers ask about Adventure Tours & Trips in Albania
When is the best time to go on an Adventure tour in Albania?
Albania's Adventure tours are at their best from May through September with consistently good weather for outdoor activities. The Theth National Park draws visitors in June through August when hiking conditions to the Blue Eye Spring and Grunas Waterfall are ideal. One TourRadar traveler noted "We had wonderful hot sunny weather on most days which meant no crowds at major attractions and perfect conditions for exploring." For coastal areas like Saranda and Ksamil July and August provide excellent conditions for combining adventure with beach activities. Those interested in historical sites like Butrint National Park and Gjirokaster will find April and May offer comfortable temperatures for exploration.
What type of accommodation can I expect on an Albanian Adventure tour?
Adventure tours blend comfortable hotels with local guesthouses across Albania. Visitors stay in modern properties like Hotel Freddy's 3* in Tirana while experiencing family-run guesthouses in mountain villages like Theth. The Tradita G & Tosk Hotel 4* in Shkoder showcases traditional Albanian architecture alongside modern comforts. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The hotels exceeded expectations and ranged from good to excellent particularly in locations like Saranda where we stayed at the Havana Hotel 4* with beautiful sea views."
What are the must-see highlights of an Adventure tour in Albania?
Albania offers diverse landscapes from mountain ranges to ancient sites and coastal views. The Theth National Park features hiking trails leading to the Blue Eye Spring and Grunas Waterfall. How much time should I allocate for an Adventure tour in Albania?
An 8-10 day trip provides enough time to experience Albania's diverse regions from the northern Alps to the coast and cultural sites. Most tours spend 3 days in Theth Valley with accommodation at Shpella Guesthouse 2-3 days in Valbona and time exploring coastal areas. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The first two days are the walking then the trip is mainly sightseeing. There are some longish drives that are necessary to see so much."
What's the transportation like on Albanian Adventure tours?
Tours use air-conditioned minibuses or vans for main routes between destinations such as Tirana to Theth or Saranda to Gjirokaster. Mountain areas like Theth National Park require specialized local transport. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The coach was comfortable with plenty of space and our driver was really excellent especially on the mountain roads to remote locations." Companies prioritize vehicle quality and safety particularly for longer coastal routes.

Most tours cover daily breakfasts and select other meals. Properties like Hotel Republika in Berat and Havana Hotel in Saranda provide breakfast as standard.
