What people love about India Tours
- 5 Days Private Golden Triangle India tour from New Delhi
We had an amazing 5 Days golden Triangle trip from New delhi, on arrival we met Ahil he was amazing person, organise everything we needs, we met different knowledgeable tour guides each and every City, all in all brilliant experience and well worth the cost. Thank you!!!
- Golden Triangle
Excellent tour! Our guide (Shaz) was especially great - really well organised, knowledgeable, fun and kept the whole group of very diverse people happy, accomodating special requests from lots of people without disrupting the schedule/group. Packed tour, not too many long drives but very busy schedule with limited down time and not that much scope to do your own thing without missing out on included activities. Accomodation and bus of good standard - comfortable and clean. I always ate with the group and the food choices were also very good and cheaper than expected! Our group was in India over the Holi festival which was really fun and Shaz organised everything for us to join in. Holi really was a highlight of the tour, so would reccomend going in March if possible! Village stay another highlight - beautiful countryside and excellent tented accomodation (with pool) - probably my favourite accomodation and nice to have a break from the business of the city. Taj mahal also a highlight of course - G Adventures get you in the queue before dawn, which means at least a 30 minute wait in the dark outside but small price to pay for being one of the very first to get in in the morning for unspoilt photographs, and plenty of time given to enjoy the sight - not just an in-take-a-picture-and-out type of tour. Would reccomend G Adventures for this trip.
- Indian Getaway
i really loved this tour. it was the perfect way to discover the most famous sights in northern india. the tour guide was extremely helpful and so glad to have him because you could ask everything which helped a lot to understand the culture of this country. definitely would recommend it.

The Golden Triangle delivers India's most celebrated cultural landmarks and profound historical experiences in one perfect circuit. Our travelers consistently praise the engaging local guides who bring centuries of Mughal and Rajput history to life through detailed storytelling at each site. The Taj Mahal stands as the crown jewel of the journey, where early morning visits let you witness the marble facade transform with the rising sun. In Jaipur's Pink City, the massive Amber Fort commands attention from its hilltop perch, while the ornate City Palace reveals the lavish lifestyle of Rajasthan's royal families. The expert drivers who know every shortcut and viewpoint have become an essential part of our travelers' positive experiences, frequently going beyond expectations to showcase hidden local spots and cultural insights.
See all Golden Triangle toursThe soul of Rajasthan really comes alive in its contrasts - from Delhi's temple-lined streets and buzzing markets to the royal grandeur of Jaipur's palaces. So many of our guests mention that moment when they first see the Taj Mahal at sunrise, with early morning light playing across the marble surfaces in ways photos just can't capture. For wildlife enthusiasts, Ranthambore National Park offers genuine encounters with Bengal tigers in their natural territory. The quieter pace of camel treks through the Thar Desert's rolling dunes gives travelers a completely different side of the region. The winter season from November through February hits that sweet spot with temperatures between 10-27°C, perfect for exploring heritage sites and joining in local festivals without the intense heat.
See all Rajasthan toursSouth India comes alive with traditional Kathakali performances, where dancers tell stories through precise movements in their detailed costumes. Many of our travelers tell us their favorite moments come from staying on houseboats in Kerala's backwaters, drifting past village scenes and spending nights on these floating homes. The temples are real highlights too - you'll find the intricate towers of Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai and Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Trichy showcasing the best of Dravidian architecture. Nature takes center stage in Munnar's tea plantations, where you can learn about tea making while taking in the green hills, and Periyar National Park offers close-up wildlife viewing from boats and jeeps - keep your eyes peeled for elephants, tigers and countless birds in their natural home. Kerala's wellness centers let you add some authentic Ayurvedic treatments to your cultural exploration. The sweet spot for visiting is October through March when the weather plays nice with moderate temperatures and very little rain, making it just right for both outdoor activities and exploring cultural sites.
See all Southern India toursThe Golden Triangle in Northern India brings together fascinating ancient cultures and grand imperial heritage in ways that really captivate visitors. The Taj Mahal catches the early morning light in a special way - our travelers often tell us how the white marble takes on an almost otherworldly glow that photographers can't get enough of. Up in Rishikesh, there's a different kind of magic where the Ganges runs in distinct milky blue waters, creating just the right setting for yoga and meditation. What makes these trips work so well is our local guides who know how to bring the history alive - they'll point out the fine details in Mughal buildings and explain age-old traditions while our experienced drivers handle the lively street scenes. For the most comfortable exploring conditions, plan your visit between October and March when it's cool and dry - perfect timing for seeing the decorated palaces and joining in the vibrant local festivals.

Our travelers regularly see these magnificent cats during both morning and afternoon safaris across the varied terrain. The open-air vehicles are led by expert naturalist guides who know the best spots for finding tigers, leopards and other native wildlife. For something different, we've found the Jhalana Leopard Safari near Jaipur is excellent for photographing wild leopards, striped hyenas and golden jackals. The early morning timing works perfectly - you get soft light for photos and much cooler temperatures. Many of our guests love combining cultural sites with wildlife watching; you can capture fine architectural details at the Taj Mahal and then switch to action shots of big cats in their element. Based on what works best for our customers, we suggest setting aside 2-3 days for the wildlife portion to give yourself solid chances of multiple sightings.

Top operators in India
Based on client feedback, two operators really stand out for Golden Triangle tours in India - Fragrance of Taj and Joyful Holidays. They've built solid reputations for reliable service, skilled guides and carefully designed routes. Sanjeev Paul at Fragrance of Taj gets lots of mentions from our travelers for how he handles the little details - whether it's finding that perfect restaurant or adjusting plans on the fly. Over at Joyful Holidays, Sonia has a knack for quick responses and making things work, even with last-minute changes or special needs. What's nice about both companies is how they blend the usual sites with local experiences. Our customers often tell us they appreciate having guides who really know their history and culture, plus drivers who navigate India's busy roads safely and professionally. They'll take you through Delhi, Agra and Jaipur while making sure you get more than just tourist snapshots. I see lots of positive notes about how both teams handle the practical stuff - good hotels, smooth transfers and timing that lets you actually enjoy each stop instead of rushing through. Plus they're both really good at working around any hiccups that pop up along the way, which is pretty important when traveling in India.

"Definitely recommend! A great mix of major tourist attractions along with other activities that are more intertwined with Indian culture. My favorites were the visits to the Bishnoi village, Jodhpur, the Jungle safari and last but not least the Mama Taj

"We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it. India is a massive country but this tour gives you a real feel and experience of its culture. The guides have a wealth of knowledge giving you an understanding of the history and pointing out things that could so easily be missed. In the more crowded areas the guides really were considerate, which made us feel safe. We were kept updated on pick up times etc throughout trip, which made the holiday run so smoothly. We ate where the driver/guides recommended, all venues were delicious.

"Not one of Intrepid's better trips. There was a lot of travel involved with most stays only being one night. The hotels weren't great, with lots of issues. The minibuses used were quite crammed, especially when the tour was at capacity. Overall, I enjoyed southern India, especially the day trip on the houseboat. I just think that this tour could have been done better.

Best places to start your India tour
Delhi works perfectly as your first stop in India, with 88 of our customers choosing to start their trip from the capital city. While some folks begin down south in Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram, Delhi's connections make everything simpler. Book about 3 months ahead - this gives you time for visa paperwork and helps secure spots in those special heritage hotels that tend to fill up fast in peak season. Our guests particularly love staying in family-run heritage properties where you can join cooking classes, watch cultural shows and also get to know the local hosts. Women traveling with our groups tell us they really value how we balance safety with real cultural experiences, like guided market walks and visits to women's craft collectives where they can connect with local artisans.
