What people love about France, Italy And Switzerland Tours
- London to Rome Highlights (10 Days)
Life changing first trip to Europe. The guided tour allowed us experience Europe in a way we could not have if we were traveling on our own. Already planning our next Trafalgar tour.

We were not able to complete our travel due to the world situation with Covid19. We felt, however, that we needed to share our positive experience with DOT travel. From the booking process, helping to make arrangements to suit our family, and adapting the itinerary to accommodate our travel needs, DOT was nothing short of extraordinary with their customer service. Additionally, when we had to make the sad decision to cancel our trip due to the world events, DOT was understanding and accommodating and refunded us promptly with no cancellation fees. We will complete this trip when the world opens up again, and rest assured we will be booking with DOT travel eu.
- Trekking Mont Blanc
Trekking Mont Blanc with G Adventures was a great trip. At times it was strenuous but the views were worth the effort. Our guide could not have been better. He was always helpful and very knowledgeable about the local traditions.
Travel France, Italy and Switzerland your way
The Mont Blanc circuit really shows why it's the top hiking route across France, Italy and Switzerland. You can start from either Chamonix or Les Houches, covering 15-20km each day at a pace that works for your group. The full trek takes 8-10 days through three countries, and you'll sleep in mountain refuges and local alpine villages along the way. When you reach spots like Lac Blanc at 2352m, you get these incredible views of the Grandes Jorasses and Aiguille Vert that our travelers talk about months after returning. The International Mountain Leaders make a huge difference - they read the group's energy, adjust the pace and share all sorts of interesting details about local plants, animals and mountain traditions.

You'll get amazing views of the Argentiere glacier while walking above Chamonix Valley, cross the Grand Col Ferret at 2537m into Italy, and discover Swiss alpine villages. Our hiking groups love stopping for fresh farm-to-table lunches in mountain refuges and learning about local plants from Swiss rangers who know every trail.

Our solo travelers tell us they love how our routes blend guided experiences with plenty of independent time. The Paris to Barcelona journey is especially popular - you'll join small groups for Seine cruises and Swiss mountain trips, then get time to discover hidden cafes and local spots on your own. Another favorite route works its way from Madrid through France and into Switzerland, with a perfect balance of guided walks and free time to explore alpine villages. While most guests share rooms with fellow travelers (single rooms are available too), many end up forming real friendships during wine tastings in Burgundy and cooking sessions in Barcelona.
Couples find the perfect mix of culture and romance on our routes connecting France, Switzerland and Italy. European Splendour delivers intimate moments like private Venice boat tours alongside special dinners in medieval Siena's historic center. Another route begins in Paris with Seine cruises and walks through Montmartre before moving to Switzerland for hotels with lake views and mountain excursions. Many couples choose itineraries with extended stays in spots like Lake Como and the French Riviera, building in quiet time for just the two of them. Our travel directors have mastered the art of being there when needed while stepping back to let couples create their own special moments.
Young travelers gravitate toward our active routes that combine cultural sites with social experiences. The Madrid-based routes are particularly popular, mixing city discoveries with evenings in local neighborhoods and interactive experiences like tapas cooking classes. Paris to Barcelona consistently gets great feedback for balancing must-see sites with independent exploration time - perfect for meeting other travelers. We place you in hotels right in the center of things, making it easy to experience the nightlife in Rome's Trastevere area and along Barcelona's waterfront.
Our senior travelers appreciate thoughtfully paced routes that don't sacrifice comfort for culture. Popular choices start in Paris or London, featuring plenty of included meals, central hotels and minimal location changes. European Splendour gets constant praise for its smart planning - you'll see the Vatican treasures and explore Venice's canals at a comfortable pace, with dinners included at carefully selected local spots. Another favorite winds through the Alps, using modern cable cars to make mountain viewing easy for everyone. Senior guests often mention how our travel directors adjust walking speeds and find alternative routes whenever needed.
Taking kids through Europe becomes much more fun with activities they'll actually enjoy. Our family routes start in London and include hands-on experiences - kids love making their own pizza in Rome and taking gondola rides in Venice while parents get to appreciate the architecture and history. Another solid choice kicks off in Paris, where families gather for picnics near the Eiffel Tower before heading to Switzerland's snow-capped peaks via cable car. The European Wonderland tour hits the right notes with a mix of structured time and free hours, plus unique touches like dinner in a Tuscan castle and lessons in traditional Venetian mask-making. When multiple generations travel together, they particularly value our mixed city-countryside routes that let everyone adjust the daily pace to their own speed.

- Spring 2025
Spring's the sweet spot for these regions with fewer tourists and just-right temperatures. The multi-country routes from London are real favorites, taking you through Paris as its gardens wake up and into Switzerland's blooming alpine meadows. Our travelers like how these spring trips balance city and countryside - one day you're learning Venetian glassblowing techniques, the next you're tasting wines at a family vineyard in Burgundy. We've added nice spring touches like Seine-side picnics, cooking in local homes and guided walks through Florence when its gardens are in full bloom.

Summer routes make good use of those long daylight hours while staying smart about peak season crowds. Our most popular trips mix early morning site visits with afternoon cultural stops. You'll start with quick entry to the Colosseum, then spend your afternoon learning crafts in a small Tuscan community. Swiss mountain trips take you up to Grindelwald by cable car for guided walks and lunch with glacier views. In France, we schedule evening river cruises and local market visits. Our guests really appreciate how these summer routes balance active outdoor time with cultural experiences.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Fall brings something special across all three countries - wine harvest in France, festivals in Italy and clear mountain views in Switzerland. We time several routes to match local autumn events - you might join a Burgundy wine celebration, catch a Florence food festival or watch traditional cheese-making in Swiss mountain villages. Our travelers say fall hits the sweet spot - shorter lines at major sites, pleasant walking temperatures and also lovely fall colors in spots like Paris's Luxembourg Gardens. The autumn routes include seasonal activities like truffle hunting in Tuscany, helping with grape harvests in French vineyards and hiking through Switzerland's golden landscapes.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter trips through these countries really shine when you're looking to dodge peak crowds. The routes take you up Switzerland's cable cars to Glacier 3000, where you can walk suspended bridges linking mountain summits. Moving south through St. Gotthard Pass into Italy, you'll explore Bellinzona's medieval castles before reaching Milan's impressive Duomo. In France, we've arranged special access to Versailles when its gardens are touched by frost, plus evening dining in Paris's local Trastevere spots. Our guests tell us they love how these winter routes mix indoor sites with snowy scenes - you might spend your morning in the Vatican Museums then catch an afternoon train through the snow-dusted Alps.
