Excellent hotels and locations. Agate Travel was very responsible. We did have two credit cards stolen and used — so our driver took us to make a police report.

The whole trip was excellent. We have a question that we have forwarded to Trafalger with no response. Why did we have to pay room charges when we first arrived at the hotel? We had been travelling for nearly 24 hours and needed to have access to our room but we had to pay!! Also as we finished the tour a day earlier and did not have the farewell meal or stay the final night are we not due a refund?

How long should I spend exploring Singapore and Malaysia?
Most travelers find a week in each country works really well letting you soak in the main sights without rushing. If you can swing it though go for about 14 days to really get the full experience of both places. You'll want that extra time to explore the cities properly relax on Langkawi's beaches and really understand the local culture. You've got a few good options here. There are direct flights from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur which is usually where people start their Malaysia adventure. If you're watching your budget the bus is actually really convenient - it takes about 4-5 hours crossing the causeway. For something more interesting try the train it gives you these amazing views of Malaysia's countryside. There's actually a Singapore & Malaysia by Train tour that includes a really scenic railway journey plus you get to explore Georgetown with locals and even learn to cook traditional Peranakan dishes.

Singapore's got this super efficient MRT system that'll get you pretty much anywhere you want to go with trains running really frequently. In Malaysia the intercity trains are great for longer trips especially if you're heading to places like Penang or the Cameron Highlands. Both countries have Grab which works just like Uber - really convenient for getting door-to-door.
