Very professional and reliable
- Best of Holy Land Israel & Jordan and Egypt Tour with Nile Cruise - 17 Days
The Israel part of the tour was excellent. We had done the Holy Land tour previously as a pilgrimage with another group. This tour complimented that experience. Our guide, Mark, was excellent. We especially appreciated that he was easy to understand, had complete control of the group, and was completely honest in discussing the current political/social situation facing the country. Similarly, the Jordan part of the tour was great. Aladan was a great guide. We especially appreciated his advice on how to avoid the pitfalls of dealing with vendors. He was easy to understand, and very knowledgeable. We were surprised in Egypt that we wound up with Sylvia tours. We were not prepared for having essentially a private tour. But Sylvia tours was excellent. The accommodations were very good, including the boat on the Nile. We could have used a little more information about tipping on the boat, as well as about the need to have cash to pay the entry fee into Egypt. Our guide, Shadie, made up for his difficulty in communicating in English with his enthusiasm and warm personality. We especially appreciated the assistance of Sylvia personnel in helping us around the airports—Mohammad was especially helpful in Cairo. The facilities were excellent in Egypt.

The tour was good. The tour guides Uri, Saar, Arkman and Zach were really knowledgable and very helpful. The hotels are nice and clean. The need to pick up members of the goup in different hotels cuts down on our tour time. The long gaps between each domestic flights are less admirable. We had to idle and wait for 7-8 hours for our flight to Cairo and to Aswan and back to Cairo. The flight back to Cairo from Luxor should be on the mid afternoon flight. We didn't arrive back to Cairo till after midnight and had to take an early am flight back to London. This left us no time to rest and have a proper sleep which was badly needed since the whole group got infected and sick from the couple Kurtiss and Christy Sandhoff of California. We are extremely upset that the couple knew ahead of the trip that they had been infected with RSV. Yet, they knowingly boarded the plane, got on the bus and joined the tour without wearing any masks! Mr Sandhoff had been hacking and coughing continuously with productive phlegm from day 1 of the tour and he didn't even put on a mask. They have zero regard for the other members of the group. They were very selfish had the ill intent of infecting everyone in the group. They complained about every little thing and were extremely rude. The whole group finally got infected at different stages of the tour. Some of us got very sick and had to miss part of the tour in Egypt. At this moment, 2 of the members of the group tested positive for COVID! We do not know for sure if the Sandhoff's only had RSV, maybe they had Covid too when they joined the tour. This makes me very upset and mad about the whole situation. We started the tour happy and healthy and we ended up sick and upset. I strongly urge your company to implement stronger measures to prevent this from happening again. That couple, Sandhoff's should be held responsible for causing the spread of their infection to the group. They should be reported to the CDC. And who knows how many other people on the planes got infected too?

Discover Egypt and Israel tours for every budget
Budget travelers can explore Egypt and Israel on well-designed tours running 10-17 days that hit all the major historical spots. Our Israeli guides get particularly high marks, especially in Jerusalem where they excel at weaving together religious and historical stories. You'll visit the Dead Sea, explore Petra in Jordan and see Egypt's pyramids. The hotels are simple but comfortable, and the experiences make up for it - from haggling at Khan-el-Khalili bazaar in Cairo to floating in mineral-rich waters and walking Jerusalem's Via Dolorosa. Many tours include a laid-back Nile cruise where you can watch Egyptian village life unfold along the banks.
The high-end options really shine with yacht cruises and private guides. These premium journeys use elegant ships with infinity pools and observation decks as you sail the Red Sea. The routes link up Aqaba's coral reefs, Sharm El-Sheikh's beaches and the healing springs at Safaga. For Nile cruising, vessels like the M/S Concerto offer fine dining between temple visits. Our luxury clients particularly value the expert Egyptologists who provide rich historical context at each site. The best luxury tours include private transfers, special site access and carefully picked high-end hotels in the best spots.

Our 10-day combination tours really hit the sweet spot for exploring both countries properly. The most comprehensive routes start in Israel, where you'll spend several days in Jerusalem's Old City before heading to the Galilee region. What makes these special is how they mix biblical sites with local experiences - you might float in the Dead Sea in the morning and explore Masada's clifftop fortress by afternoon. After crossing to Jordan, you'll discover Petra's rock-carved wonders and even spend a night in Wadi Rum's desert camps. The final segment takes you into Egypt, where you'll explore Cairo's pyramids and museums. Our travelers consistently praise how these routes balance guided tours with enough free time to soak in each destination.

Demographics
We've found our multi-country tours through Israel, Jordan and Egypt really work well for solo travelers, typically running 10-13 days. The border crossings are smooth and the variety keeps things interesting. Many clients love starting in Tel Aviv before exploring Jerusalem's quarters, with a highlight being the night under the stars at Wadi Rum - it's perfect for meeting other travelers around the fire. Another solid option includes a 3-night Nile cruise where you can join group activities but still have plenty of time to yourself. Our guides know how to create a friendly group feel while giving people space, especially at meaningful spots like the Western Wall and Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
For couples, our longer trips of 14-17 days hit just the right notes between culture and romance. You can have dinner by candlelight near Petra's Treasury and sail the Nile as the sun sets. Our travelers tell us they like how the days flow - active mornings at archaeological sites, then afternoons to themselves floating in the Dead Sea or watching life go by from their Nile cruise balcony. Many routes come with nice extras like private transfers and better rooms in character-filled hotels, especially in Jerusalem's Old City and along the Nile. The pace really lets couples spend quality time together while taking in these incredible historical places.
Our senior travelers get the most from our 13-19 day complete tours that take things at an easy pace with comfortable hotels. We plan longer stays where it matters - three nights in Jerusalem, extra time exploring Luxor's temples and two nights by the Dead Sea. The guides are top-notch and bring the history to life everywhere from the pyramids to Petra's lesser-known tombs. What works well is having all the travel details sorted while keeping some flexibility for optional activities. Our guests often mention the cultural parts as highlights - eating with local families, exploring traditional markets and watching craftspeople who still use ancient techniques.
