I left the US in September 2016 to experience Oktoberfest and Germany. I did that and so much more and came back a Thirsty Swagman for life! -Old Matt

Wonderful time! Hotel was great, arrangements were smooth, and when complications arose (train strike), they kept in contact with me, updating me and offering alternatives. Great company.
What our customers ask about Bavaria Tours for Solo Travelers
How does luggage handling work on Bavaria tours?
During Bavaria tours, bags are moved each day to the next hotel while guests explore. On popular routes like the Bavarian Lakes Round Trip, guests can travel light with a daypack while their main luggage appears at each new hotel, ready for their arrival.
What kind of accommodation can I expect on Bavaria tours?
Most Bavaria tours put guests in 3-4 star hotels that have private bathrooms and are near city centers or main sights. The NH Collection München Bavaria in Munich is a good example - it's a 4-star hotel right by the main train station. Hotels are picked mainly because guests can walk to restaurants and key sights.
What's included in the typical tour price for Bavaria?
A standard Bavaria tour package costs around $1,364 for 7 nights and covers the hotel stays, breakfast each morning, an introduction meeting, moving luggage between hotels, and maps with directions. Guests need to pay extra for bike rentals and flights.
When is the best time of year to visit Bavaria as a solo traveler?
The best weather and biggest crowds in Bavaria come between June and September, with August drawing the most visitors. This time works well for outdoor activities - the days are long enough for hiking in the Alps or biking around Lake Ammersee. Some tours, like Lakes & Mountains of Bavaria, run from May through October when the weather is good.
How safe is Bavaria for solo travelers?
Bavaria ranks among Germany's safest regions, with well-marked trails and reliable tour companies like Eurobike, which has a 4.1 out of 5 rating. Tours come with clear maps, phone help available all day, and hotels in safe areas, such as the Hotel Dom near Augsburg's busy center.
What cultural experiences can I expect on a Bavaria solo tour?
Bavaria's tours take guests to places like King Ludwig's Neuschwanstein Castle, local beer gardens, and old towns such as Augsburg. Special tours during Oktoberfest pair guests with local guides who explain Bavarian traditions and festival customs.
How accessible are food options for solo diners in Bavaria?
Solo travelers fit right in at Bavaria's casual beer gardens and traditional restaurants. Hotels like the Alter Wirt in Chiemsee serve meals on-site, and tours include breakfast daily. Tour guides point guests toward good local spots where eating alone feels natural.
