What people love about Kakadu National Park Tours
- 4 Day Kakadu Katherine Gorge Experience (Accommodated)
Awesome tour! Ben, our tour guide is very informative and gave us so much great info about NT and the Aboriginal culture. He was also very helpful with some of the harder hikes! Locations were amazing and we got a lot of wonderful memories.
- 5 Day Kakadu Katherine Litchfield 4WD Adventure (Camping)
The guide,Jay, was excellent the vehicle was comfortable. Some of the accommodation was poor. While it did state shared bathroom 2 toilet cum showers for 10 people to share wasn’t great. Apparently there were upgrades available but that was not an option we were offered. The last night hotel in Darwin was very nice.
- Kakadu, Arnhem Land, Katherine & Litchfield Adventure
The tour is very well planned. I love the knowledge and experience of our guide Rick. He was very patient, kind and polite with every body. The places that we visited were amazing 4 national parks, heaps of places for swimming, a lot of culture and learning. This is a must.

Coach trips handle the long stretches between Darwin and Kakadu's main sites comfortably. Most run 5-6 days, stopping at Mary River wetlands, Nourlangie Rock and also Katherine Gorge. The air-con coaches cope well with rough outback roads, and guides like Maurice get great feedback from our travelers for making the journey both fun and informative. When the weather heats up, these tours really shine - giving you that right mix of exploring and comfortable travel.
See all Coach / Bus toursMulti-day tours give you proper time to absorb Kakadu's best spots without rushing. Most people go for the 4-day routes that blend Kakadu with Katherine Gorge and Litchfield - you'll swim at Wangi Falls' natural pools, watch wildlife at Yellow Water Billabong and explore Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr. Our travelers often mention how much they love the early morning walks when everything comes alive. While 4 days works well, the 6-day options add extra time at each stop and also include Arnhem Land. The feedback we get consistently shows people really value having enough time to explore properly rather than just ticking boxes.

The 3-day tours give you a proper taste of Kakadu's highlights without rushing. Our most-booked option takes in Yellow Water Billabong for crocodile watching, plus the rich Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr, Nourlangie and also swimming spots at clear waterfalls. For something different, we've got a tour focusing on Arnhem Land where you'll head off-road in 4WDs to areas that most people never see, learning traditional skills from Aboriginal guides along the way. The camping tours get great feedback - guides like Elliott and Carlos share deep cultural knowledge while keeping things relaxed and fun. If camping's not your style, there's a tour with proper beds that covers all the key sites including the East Alligator River cruise, where local guides demonstrate traditional fishing methods and explain how they manage the land.

A week in Kakadu lets you really sink into the place. Our popular 7-day trip starts with some time exploring Darwin before heading to Katherine Gorge - you'll swim at Edith Falls and cruise between those massive gorge walls. Then it's into Kakadu proper for multiple billabong cruises and guided walks to see Aboriginal art sites. Another solid choice adds in Litchfield National Park's waterfalls and Howard Springs Nature Park where you can feed the barramundi. Our travelers particularly like having enough time to properly explore each spot - you're not racing between places and get better chances to spot wildlife.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Darwin, Kakadu National Park, Katherine
See all toursThe 10-day journeys give you a complete Top End experience by combining Kakadu with the Red Centre. Our standout tour begins at Uluru with the Sounds of Silence dinner under the stars, then takes you aboard the Ghan train to Katherine and Darwin. Once in Kakadu, you'll join the Jumping Croc cruise on Adelaide River and explore the ancient landscapes around Jim Jim Falls. Our customers really like how this balances comfort with wild places - proper beds each night but still getting out to remote waterholes and Aboriginal sites that most visitors never reach.

Demographics
Our 3-day Kakadu tours work really well for solo travelers, with groups of 12-16 people that make it easy to meet others. You'll share the experience of discovering Aboriginal rock art sites and camping under starlit skies. The tours include all your meals and good transport, which takes the stress out of traveling alone. There's plenty of social time during wildlife cruises and walks, but also quiet moments to take in places like Ubirr lookout by yourself. Our guides are skilled at bringing everyone together - the campfire dinners and croc-spotting cruises tend to get people talking and laughing.
For couples, our 3-4 day tours blend comfort with intimate experiences, featuring private rooms and special dining touches. Days are filled with active exploration around Katherine Gorge and Yellow Water Billabong, while evenings might find you sharing sunset drinks overlooking the wetlands. Our guides know when to give couples their space at scenic spots while keeping the social aspect during group activities. You'll walk to hidden waterfalls, meet Aboriginal artists and take peaceful wildlife-spotting cruises together.
The 2-3 day adventure tours attract young adults looking for real physical challenges mixed with cultural experiences. You'll tackle full-day treks to remote waterfalls, swim in natural pools and learn traditional skills directly from Aboriginal guides. Days might start with a challenging hike to Burrungkuy's rock art and finish with hands-on art workshops at Warradjan. The casual vibe at camp works well - everyone shares stories over dinner after big days out exploring.
Senior travelers tell us they prefer tours that focus on culture and comfort rather than physical demands. These itineraries include good accommodation, air-conditioned transport and well-paced scheduling that gives proper time at each stop. The emphasis falls on Aboriginal culture and history - you'll explore significant rock art sites with knowledgeable guides, take peaceful river cruises and enjoy cultural demonstrations. Walking distances are moderate and guides adjust activities to match what the group can comfortably manage.
Families get real value from our 4-day Kakadu programs that work well for different ages. Kids love swimming in the safe pools at Litchfield, while parents appreciate the well-planned wildlife cruises on Mary River. The Limilngan-Wulna hosts run excellent hands-on cultural sessions that keep everyone engaged. Our guides are good at adjusting the walking pace for little legs while teaching about bush tucker and Aboriginal art along the way. The permanent safari tents give you proper beds but keep that outdoor feeling that families enjoy. There's a nice mix of guided activities like the rock art visits and also free time for splashing around at spots like Edith Falls.

Summer's wet season transforms Kakadu into a water-rich landscape teeming with wildlife. Our 2-3 day tours showcase the monsoonal beauty with visits to flowing falls and expanded wetlands. The Yellow Water cruises are particularly special now as the billabong extends far beyond its dry season borders. You'll still get rich cultural experiences year-round, exploring significant Aboriginal art sites and learning traditional customs from local guides. While some spots might be harder to reach, you'll see Kakadu at its most vibrant and enjoy popular sites with fewer people around.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Autumn brings mild temperatures and the wet season's final rains, creating ideal conditions to explore Kakadu's diverse environments. Most visitors choose our 3-4 day tours that mix camping adventures with cultural experiences. Our customers really value autumn's combination of accessible walking trails and waterfalls that are still flowing well. Small group 4WD tours can reach hidden spots like Motor Car Falls and Maguk, while coach tours offer a comfortable way to see highlights like Nourlangie Rock's Aboriginal art and also Yellow Water Billabong's wildlife cruises. From what our travelers tell us, you've got two really solid choices for Kakadu guided tours. Autopia Tours consistently delivers excellent experiences, and their guides Elliott, Carlos and also Darren receive lots of positive mentions. They've got this great way of mixing fun with facts - you learn a lot without feeling like you're in a lecture. Intrepid Travel is another strong option, with Maurice in particular getting fantastic feedback. He's got this special talent for making every stop interesting and keeping everyone engaged throughout the journey. What's nice about both companies is how their guides adapt the commentary to match what the group is interested in. The guides from both companies know their stuff about Kakadu's wildlife, Aboriginal culture and also geological features.
