What people love about Jordan Tours
- Timeless Jordan
It was my first trip abroad since the pandemic started. I went Jordan in July 2021 with Timeless Tours I couldn't recommend it enough. It felt really good to be able to travel again and explore these amazing places. I was looking for a short trip that will still cover all the major sites in Jordan, and this trip didn’t disappoint me. The tour was well organized, we got to see so much only in 5 days. The only downside that it was so hot during the day, but it was expected for July. Jordan is incredible place, our visit in Petra was amazing and our local tour guide Basil was very informative, friendly and accommodating. There was very few tourist there which is sad for the local who depend on tourism, but it was great as we had the place very much to our self’s. The overnight camping in Wadi Rum was magical. I would highly recommend this tour. A big thank you to our tour guide Jamal and Timeless Tours

Petra captures centuries of Nabataean ingenuity carved into towering rose-red cliffs. When our customers first glimpse the Treasury through the winding Siq passage, they often tell us they're left without words. As night falls, Petra transforms - hundreds of candles light the way to the Treasury while Bedouin music fills the air, bouncing off ancient stone walls. During the day, hikers who make their way up to the Monastery are treated to sweeping views of Wadi Araba, and those who venture to the Royal Tombs find quiet spaces to explore Nabataean burial customs away from the main crowds. We've learned from our regular visitors that early morning offers the most peaceful experience, with soft light for photos and quieter pathways.

Jordan's active tours blend cultural sites with physical challenges. You'll find yourself driving 4x4s through Wadi Rum's red desert one day, navigating massive dunes and checking out ancient water systems. Our travelers love how varied the days are - exploring Jerash's Roman ruins then floating in the Dead Sea's salty waters the next. The nights at Bedouin desert camps are always a hit, with traditional zarb barbecues and crystal-clear stargazing. For extra excitement, you can ride horses to Petra's Treasury, trek by camel across Wadi Rum or climb the old stone steps up to Petra's Monastery. What makes these experiences special is how the local guides weave in stories about the history and Bedouin way of life.

The winning combination includes guided Petra visits and nights at authentic Bedouin desert camps. Many travelers tell us they love exploring Wadi Rum by 4x4, following Lawrence of Arabia's routes and sharing mint tea with local families. Some tours access Little Petra through a less-traveled "back door" path - it's quieter and more intimate than the main entrance. We've found the right mix of expert guidance at major sites and free time to wander ancient streets. Most itineraries include time at the Dead Sea too, where you can float effortlessly and cover yourself in mineral-rich mud that locals swear by.

Based on travelers' feedback about Jordan tours, Intrepid Travel comes out as a solid choice if you're watching your budget. Their guide Mohammed gets mentioned quite a bit for really knowing his stuff, and their itineraries are well thought out. Just keep in mind some people have found the hotels can be hit or miss. If you're looking to splurge a bit, Luxury Destination has built up quite a reputation - their driver Fady especially gets lots of positive mentions from our travelers for going above and beyond. They pay attention to those little details that make a trip special. Trip500 sits somewhere in the middle. Their guide Adnan gets good reviews for being friendly and helpful, and they generally run things smoothly. That said, we've heard from several customers who weren't too happy with some hotel switches and itinerary changes that came up during their trips. A few specific hotels didn't quite meet expectations either. These insights come directly from people who've booked through us - so while each company has its strengths, you'll want to match their style with what matters most for your trip, whether that's keeping costs down, having everything top-notch or finding that sweet spot in between.

"Amazing tour. Tour guide was informative and knowledgeable. The itinerary was good although could be a bit rush if tour members are not fit enough to walk around. Wadi rum is otherworldly, probably could stay 3-4 days even.

"Timeless Egypt & Jordan was a really great experience. Mina (the guide for Egypt) was one of the best tour guides I've ever had - he was patient, very knowledgeable, and made an effort to ensure our group was getting along well. The actual tour itself was great, it made sure to cover the highlights of Egypt so it was very fast-paced, but definitely worthwhile. Our guide for Jordan, Gabriel, was also amazing and very knowledgeable about Jordan. All in all, it was a great trip!

Best places to start your Jordan tour
Most Jordan tours - about 92% - kick off from Amman, though some of our more adventurous travelers start from Madaba or Aqaba. We've found through our booking data that planning about 4 months ahead (114 days to be precise) gives you the best options for dates and secures spots at those popular Wadi Rum desert camps that tend to book up fast. To really get a feel for Jordan, our travelers say you need at least 5-7 days, though many tell us they wish they'd planned for longer to fully dive into the local culture and history. If you're visiting during Ramadan, tourist sites stay open but restaurant timings might shift around - it's actually a really interesting time to experience local traditions and religious customs. The Jordan Pass has been a huge hit with our guests who plan to visit multiple sites since it covers both your visa fees and entrance tickets in one go.
Discover Jordan tours for every budget
Jordan's budget tours deliver excellent value without compromising on experiences. The 8-day tour stands out among our customers, covering major sites while keeping costs reasonable with simple, clean hotels. Our guides Mohammed and Zuhair receive constant praise - they handle Ramadan schedule changes smoothly and share deep cultural insights. There's also a solid 6-day option with Wadi Rum camping, though several travelers mention one desert night would have been plenty instead of two. The 7-day tour strikes a nice balance, giving you guided portions plus free time to wander Petra's hidden spots and float leisurely in the Dead Sea.
Luxury travel in Jordan comes with carefully chosen perks and premium stays. You'll base yourself at the St. Regis Amman, while Memories Aicha Luxury Camp provides modern desert tents with sweeping views. The Movenpick sits right at Petra's entrance - perfect for maximizing your time at the site. These tours include private cooking sessions in Petra, intimate desert dinners and also custom Wadi Rum 4x4 explorations. Our travelers particularly appreciate having specialist guides at each major site rather than one guide throughout the journey.

The focused 3-day private tour covers Petra and Wadi Rum in detail, though quite a few customers mention they wish they'd booked longer to include Jerash and also the Dead Sea.
Top Jordan travel itineraries to fit your plans
Seven days in Jordan opens up so many more possibilities. Starting in Amman, you'll explore the Citadel and Roman Theater before heading north to Jerash, where Roman streets and columns stand almost perfectly preserved. Our travelers really appreciate having two full days at Petra - first with a guide who knows all the historical details, then on their own to hike up to spots like the Monastery without rushing. The Wadi Rum experience gets better too, with sunset jeep rides across the dunes and time to learn about daily Bedouin life. These tours add meaningful local connections through cooking sessions with families and visits to women's craft projects in small villages, plus time to explore Dana's nature reserve.
Don't miss out on visiting:
Amman, Jerash, Umm Qais, Wadi Rum, Petra, Wadi Mujib, Dead Sea, Madaba, Mount Nebo
See all toursTen days lets you really sink into Jordan's rhythm and find its quiet corners. You can properly explore places like Dana's valleys with local nature guides and spend time in real villages around Umm Qais. Our guests love having three nights in Petra - enough time to combine guided tours with solo wandering and see the rose-colored walls change at sunrise and sunset. The longer schedule makes room for authentic experiences: making coffee with Bedouin families, walking with shepherds through nature reserves and learning traditional recipes in local kitchens. Many travelers enjoy breaking up the desert and Dead Sea portions with a stop in Aqaba, where the Red Sea provides a nice change of scenery.

Our week-long Jordan tours really hit the mark with solo travelers, especially when they want independence plus the convenience of having someone handle the logistics. The guides make all the difference - people often mention Mohammed and Zuhair by name for their deep cultural knowledge and talent for bringing groups together naturally. Single travelers particularly love our combination tours that mix guided archaeological visits with nights at authentic Bedouin camps, where it's easy to connect with fellow guests over shared meals and stories. We've made sure to offer private rooms without crazy surcharges and our hotels in Petra and Amman are perfectly placed for exploring on your own. The homestay dinners and desert camps tend to be highlights for solo guests, as these shared experiences often lead to lasting friendships within the group.
Our younger travelers really go for the active Jordan tours that pack in both culture and outdoor experiences. The 6-8 day format works well - you'll scramble up to hidden monasteries in Petra, walk through the rust-red dunes of Wadi Rum and take a float in the Dead Sea, with enough time left to discover Amman's food scene on your own. Many guests in their 20s and 30s love staying at the Bedouin camps where you can either go traditional in desert tents or try something different in the clear-dome "bubbles" under the stars. The guides know exactly what works for this age group, showing you the best hiking routes to incredible viewpoints and pointing out where locals hang out after dark. We've woven in hands-on experiences like cooking with Jordanian families and exploring street food markets, which our younger travelers say gives them a real feel for everyday life here.

Best time to visit Jordan
- Spring 2025
Spring in Jordan hits that sweet spot for exploring - the weather's just right for desert camping and wandering through ancient sites. Our 5-6 day trips give you proper time at Petra, and the morning sun really brings out those red and orange tones in the rock. Lots of our travelers say having two full days here works perfectly - one with a guide who knows all the history and then another day to roam around on your own, especially for that hike up to the Monastery when it's cooler. Week-long options add Jerash with its massive Roman ruins and cooking sessions in local Petra homes. For those wanting to move, we've got routes mixing Dana Biosphere Reserve trails with jeep rides through Wadi Rum, while our luxury travelers get premium desert camps complete with private decks for night sky views.

- Summer 2025
Summer needs smart planning around the heat, but guides like Mohammed and Basil have got it down to an art. The 6-day tours hit Petra early, getting you through the Siq before the real heat kicks in, then time it perfectly for afternoon floating in the Dead Sea when you're ready for that cool water. Our premium camps in Wadi Rum come with air conditioning and make great bases for dawn 4x4 trips and evenings with Bedouin meals. The 5-day focused trips mix morning activities with afternoon hotel downtime, and according to our guests, that rhythm really works. Week-long tours add Aqaba time where you can snorkel and catch those Red Sea breezes.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Fall's when our longer Jordan trips really come into their own. The 8-day tours get consistent praise from travelers who love how we mix historical sites with real cultural connections. Time with Bedouin hosts in Wadi Rum becomes something special - sharing stories over mint tea and getting to know desert life properly. Several routes take you through Petra's less-known "back door" and into local homes for cooking sessions. The 6-day express options still fit in all the main sites at a nice pace, and our customers tell us the weather's just right for that Monastery hike in Petra and exploring the sprawling ruins at Jerash.
