What people love about Australia West Coast Tours
- Kimberley Family Holiday
The tour was absolutely fantastic and our guide Sidney and Bianca were helpful kind and knowledgeable. The sites were amazing and the children had the best time ever. The group was delightful and we had one of the most memorable holidays. I recommend to all families. Thank you Bianca and Sidney for everything
- 7 Day Perth to Exmouth Explorer Loop
If you want to see the western Australia's landscape and wildlife, this tour is for you! It was really surprising that there were so sameminded people on this tour, great discussions in the evenings and on the road! You should definitely include the whale shark and mantaray tours to this pagage, there were once in the life time experiences. The breakfast (bread, coffee/tea) and lunch (more bread/tortillas, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, sauces etc) was most of the time average and served on the road. The dinner was very good in the evenings. The wifi connectivity/signal coverage on the road and in the hostels is hard to get sometimes. Tour busses/cars had air con, so no worries on that. Our guide Jason was excellent and organised everything perfectly. I took this tour when I noticed that AussieWanderer went in liquidation and I was very pleased that everything went as planned. The weather was also really pleasant (occasionally short rainshowers but most of the time clear skys and 18-25 celsius) although there was winter time in late July.

Had a fantastic tour with Paul, he was so knowledgeable and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Thanks Autopia

Coach tours along WA's coast give you comfort without missing out on the good bits. Most run 6-7 days from Perth to Exmouth, covering about 1,200km of coastline. The long drives become part of the fun actually - our guides share great stories about the wildlife, Aboriginal culture and local history as you go. If you're traveling solo, these tours work really well; we see people making friends over shared meals and evening walks all the time. The coaches have good air-con and stop regularly at local spots like Carnarvon's banana plantations and Shell Beach - which is literally made of tiny white cockle shells. What works well is how flexible everything is - you can join the planned activities or take time to explore places like Coral Bay and Turquoise Bay by yourself.
See all Coach / Bus toursThe 7-day Perth to Exmouth routes let you experience the full West Coast properly. Our travelers keep telling us about the wild dolphins that swim right up to Monkey Mia's shore each morning - it's quite something to see them so close. The hiking takes you deep into Kalbarri National Park where you'll find red gorges leading to Nature's Window and Z-Bend lookouts, plus some hidden swimming spots to cool off. These tours mix it up nicely between land and sea; you'll explore the strange limestone shapes of the Pinnacles Desert one day and float over Ningaloo Reef's coral gardens the next. From March to September you can add extras like swimming with whale sharks and manta rays, which our customers say is worth every penny. You'll stay in a mix of hostels and proper hotels, and the guides cook up good dinners around the campfire each night.

"Amazing tour! We saw so many things, starting from Perth, to the Kalbarri National Park and the Pink Lake, the dolphins at Monkey Mia, Shell Beach, snorkeling with the mantas… The highlight was definitely our wonderful guide Danny, who was friendly and knowledgeable and made sure we all enjoyed our time and had fun! I can’t recommend him enough. The tour involves a lot of driving and the bus is quite small and can get warm due to the high temperatures, but the stops are worth it, and everything was perfectly timed by Danny to ensure we had regular bathroom breaks, opportunities to buy water and snacks, and enough time to explore and have a swim at the great beaches we stopped at. I highly recommend doing the snorkeling with mantas in Coral Bay: it is excluded from the price of the tour, but it’s absolutely worth it ($270pp). It’s a day trip (from 7am to 2:30pm) with lunch included, and we got to go snorkeling and see so much marine wildlife including turtles, sharks and mantas. Another highlight was the dolphin experience at Monkey Mia (included in the tour)! There are 2 options for the tour (shared/private accommodation): the shared one included hostels with mixed dorms of up to 10 people. They are often in the middle of nowhere and with few toilets, but we never had any issues and always had a great time (especially since most people on the tour are backpackers and are used to the hostel life). I had a wonderful time and absolutely recommend this tour!

The 7-day coastal tours between Perth and Exmouth cover about 2,000km at a comfortable pace that lets you really settle into the journey. Our travelers love starting their days watching dolphins swim into the shallows at Monkey Mia. The daily mix keeps things interesting - you might be sliding down the massive dunes at Jurien Bay before snorkeling among the coral gardens of Ningaloo Reef later that same day. The accommodation switches between proper rooms and safari camps, giving you both solid rest and those perfect nights stargazing in the outback. The food gets plenty of mentions in feedback, especially the fresh seafood in Carnarvon and evening barbecues on the beach.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Perth, Fremantle, Yanchep National Park, Nambung National Park, Cervantes, Lancelin
Taking 10 days from Perth to Broome opens up spots that quick trips miss entirely. Having two full days in Karijini National Park makes a real difference - there's time to venture deep into the ancient gorges, discover secluded swimming spots and connect with the Indigenous heritage of the area. Our photographers and wildlife watchers particularly value the extra time; you can wait for that perfect Shell Beach sunset or spend more time spotting marine life at Coral Bay. The route shows you WA's contrasts, from Port Hedland's massive iron ore facilities to the quiet stretch of 80-Mile Beach. Solo travelers often tell us how the longer journey helps create real friendships, especially during those nights sharing stories around the campfire under remarkably clear skies.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Perth, Nambung National Park, Jurien Bay, Geraldton, Abrolhos Islands, Northampton, Kalbarri, Kalbarri National Park, Hamelin Pool, Monkey Mia Reserve, Denham, Shell Beach Conservation Park, Carnarvon, Coral Bay, Exmouth, Cape Range National Park, Paraburdoo, Karijini National Park, Port Hedland, Broome
Two weeks on the Perth-Broome route gives you time to properly experience both city life and outback exploration. You'll have genuine free time at key locations - perhaps checking out pearl farming at Willie Creek in the morning before taking a Harley Davidson trike tour through Broome's history that afternoon. These longer journeys blend the big moments like swimming with whale sharks at Ningaloo with unexpected gems like Carnarvon's space tracking station museum. Our customers often mention loving the variety - watching massive ore carriers at Port Hedland one day, then learning traditional didgeridoo by firelight in Monkey Mia the next.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Perth, Rottnest Island, Cervantes, Kalbarri, Geraldton, Denham, Carnarvon, Coral Bay, Port Hedland, Broome
Demographics
Our 7-day Perth to Exmouth routes really click with solo travelers. The mix of independent explorers quickly becomes friends while sandboarding at Jurien Bay or exploring Ningaloo Reef together. The hostel stays make it natural to meet people, though you can always grab a private room when you want some space. Those long drives turn into social time - our guides keep the mood up with local stories, facts and good music. The included group dinners feel just right, and activities like swimming with manta rays are much more fun with your new travel friends.
The 4-day Perth to Monkey Mia coastal route works perfectly for seniors who want comfort without missing out on nature. You'll stay in proper hotels but still get to explore places like the Pinnacles Desert and also Kalbarri National Park. The walks are gentle - usually 1-3km on good paths - and the air-conditioned coaches make regular stops. Our older travelers really enjoy learning about the local lobster industry in Cervantes and discovering Aboriginal culture along the way. There's plenty of time to watch the dolphins at Monkey Mia or spot sea birds at Point Moore Lighthouse without feeling rushed.
The 5-day Kimberley tours work brilliantly for families, combining nights under the stars with walks through ancient gorges. Kids get really excited about swimming at Manning Falls and crossing rivers by pulley boat - it's the kind of hands-on stuff they love. The guides are great with children, teaching them about Aboriginal life at the Boab Prison Tree and helping them try traditional art at Norval Gallery in Derby. Parents tell us they like how each day mixes active moments with quiet times around the campfire. The camping spots are picked just right too - like at Windjana Gorge where you can watch freshwater crocodiles and native birds from your tent flap.

Best time to visit Australia West Coast
- Spring 2025
Spring fills Western Australia's coast with wildflowers and just-right temperatures. Our guides know exactly where to find the best blooms in Kalbarri National Park, and they time the visits perfectly. You might spend your morning photographing flowers in the gorges and then cool off snorkeling with marine life at Coral Bay - our travelers really like that mix. The Perth to Exmouth routes work particularly well now since you can still catch whale sharks before they move on, plus the hiking weather is spot-on. Some tours make special stops at Shell Beach and Pink Lake when the spring light makes them look their finest.

Summer tours along the coast focus on water activities and early walks. The family-friendly Kimberley routes include plenty of swimming at spots like Galvans Gorge and Manning Falls - those clear pools feel amazing on warm days. Our coastal tours spend lots of time at Turquoise Bay and Coral Bay, where you can snorkel straight off the beach. The guides schedule hikes for early morning, leaving afternoons free for dips in natural pools or quiet time at hidden beaches. Many tours add boat trips to see marine life and evening cruises when the water's typically calm and clear.

Looking at the tours along Australia's west coast, Autopia Tours has built up quite a following among our travelers - especially on that Perth to Exmouth route. Their guides Linda, Wokka and Jason get mentioned often in the feedback for really knowing their stuff and sharing interesting details about the landscapes, wildlife and local culture along the way. The price point works out well for what you get - you'll see everything from coastal cliffs to inland gorges, plus chances to spot whales, reef fish and kangaroos depending on the season. Just keep in mind you're covering serious distance out there, so there will be some longer days on the road. A few experienced travelers suggest spending the extra money on a private room upgrade for better rest between driving days. Adventure Tours runs similar trips but the feedback isn't as consistent. We've had mixed reports about where you stay, what you eat and how engaged some of their guides are with the group. When you compare the two operators side by side, Autopia Tours tends to deliver a more reliable experience. If you're keen to explore Western Australia properly with someone who knows all the good spots, hidden beaches and local history, Autopia's guides really make the difference. They've got the knowledge to help you understand what you're seeing and the enthusiasm to make those long travel days more interesting.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter brings out the best in Western Australia's coastal routes from May through September, when temperatures sit nicely at 18-25°C. The 7-day Perth to Exmouth trips really work well this time of year - even the light rain adds something special to those red Kalbarri gorge views. You'll find crystal-clear water at Ningaloo Reef, perfect for spotting whale sharks and manta rays gliding by. One of our most-booked options lets you mix it up between camping under star-filled skies and proper hotel stays. There's also a small-group coastal route where the guides cook proper dinners and sometimes surprise everyone with morning pancakes. The mild winter weather makes those longer walks through Nature's Window and Z-Bend Gorge much more enjoyable.
