What people love about Ireland Wild Atlantic Way Tours
- 10-Day Ultimate Ireland Small Group Tour
What a fantastic experience. I was travelling by myself and had a great time in Ireland. Fist of all the smaller group worked really well. We had 12 people on tour and was a great mixture of all ages. There were a few other solo travellers which was great for the evenings. Our guide, Ray, was really accommodating and had a great understanding of Irish history and told incredible stories. As I am a vegetarian he always recommended the best places and the Overland office send out an email each day with dinner recommendations as well which is a really nice touch. The tour felt never rushed and we had plenty of time in most places. It was great that we never spend too long on the bus and we had plenty of time in the towns we stayed in. Instead of some of the activities I just went to do some shopping which suited me really well as I am not that active. Overall it was an amazing experience and would highly recommend Overland Ireland to others.
- Best of Ireland (10 Days)
Tour guide great, shared really interesting information about the area. Was very helpful to meet our needs. The stops were amazing and lots of photo opportunities. Some hotels not located close to the townships but the meals and the quality of hotels were wonderful. Ten days was perfect for the trip.
- Taste of Ireland (Tour A) - 7 Days/6 Nights
Our guide Jim (sorry no last name) made this trip an amazing experience! This was my first CIE tour and this trip absolutely exceeded any expectations I had! Jim made every day fun and interesting. His knowledge of Ireland the jokes and the unflagging patience he shared made this trip a memory that will last a life time! CIE is lucky to have Jim! I loved this tour!
Travel Ireland Wild Atlantic Way your way
The multi-day coastal walks in Ireland really show off what makes hiking here special. Our travelers consistently pick routes that combine the old pilgrim paths on Dingle Peninsula with the stark beauty of the Burren. You'll mix coastal cliff walks with proper mountain climbs - the 750m up Mount Brandon gives you Atlantic views that go on forever, while the next day brings you along the Glanlough Loop on Sheep's Head peninsula. If you're up for something more demanding, the 6-hour climb up Carrauntoohil (1039m) shows you Kerry's mountains and coast from Ireland's highest point. The guides are really good at reading the group, offering easier options when needed, especially on the 8km Cliffs of Moher walk where weather can change quickly.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursWeek-long small group tours mix up cycling, hiking and water activities in clever ways. The Great Western Greenway is perfect for e-bikes - you'll cover 30km from Mulranny to Westport with Mayo's coast right there beside you. Our customers love getting into sea kayaks around Dingle's caves and heading out to spot dolphins on boat trips. Over in Connemara, you can pick between guided walks on Diamond Hill's stone paths or take your bike along the Sky Road loop on your own. The groups stay small (12-16 people) which means you can easily switch between active days and cultural stops. If someone needs a break, the guides always have good backup plans ready, from castle visits to craft sessions in places like Clifden.
See all Active toursCoach tours along the Wild Atlantic Way let you cover the distance in comfort while staying connected to local life. The routes include must-see spots like Blarney Castle, Ring of Kerry and also the Cliffs of Moher. The evenings really shine according to our customers - think feast nights in medieval castles and proper Irish music sessions in local pubs. What makes these tours work is the mix: you'll see the famous sites but also learn marble crafting in Connemara or join food walks through Galway's streets. Our guides bring Irish history to life through family stories and their local connections.
See all Coach / Bus toursThe Wild Atlantic Way comes alive through our small-group explorer tours that get you right into the action. You'll hike the Cliffs of Moher paths, paddle kayaks in Dingle Bay and cycle quiet roads on the Aran Islands. Our travelers tell us they love getting away from the crowded spots - like when the trails take them to Sheep's Head peninsula, where local farmers still maintain the walking paths. The days mix things up nicely: you might find yourself at Blarney Castle in the morning, then watching skilled sheepdogs work with their handlers on a Kerry farm by afternoon. The guides know exactly when to share the history and when to let nature do the talking.

From what our travelers tell us, CIE Tours stands out as a reliable choice for exploring Ireland without any logistical headaches. Their guides Ken O'Connell and Niall consistently get mentioned in feedback for going above and beyond - they're particularly good at mixing historical insights with local stories that you won't find in guidebooks. If you prefer a more intimate experience, Overland Ireland keeps their groups smaller which means you can be more flexible with stops and timing. Their guides Marie, Jimmy and Ray know their stuff, especially when it comes to Irish history, and they're known for adapting the pace to match what the group wants to see. For something a bit different, Wild 'n Happy with guides Michael and Andy takes you to spots that bigger tours often miss. They've got a knack for finding those hidden local spots and quiet country lanes where you really get to know the Ireland that exists beyond the usual tourist circuit. These companies manage to hit that sweet spot between being well-organized and giving you enough space to actually experience Ireland, rather than just checking off sights. You'll notice I've mentioned specific guides because they make such a difference - they're the ones who turn a regular tour into something special through their local connections and personal touch.

Demographics
Our small-group tours running 6-10 days work perfectly for solo travelers, putting you with 8-12 fellow explorers who often become fast friends. Marie and Ray, two of our most mentioned guides, have a knack for getting everyone comfortable and chatting from day one. You'll kayak in Dingle Bay, wander through Galway's food scene and stay in central spots that make it easy to join evening pub sessions or explore on your own. The small group size lets us take you places larger tours can't reach - we pop into local farmhouses to watch sheepdogs at work and find quiet beaches that bigger groups miss entirely.
Couples tend to love our 7-10 day tours mixing quality hotels with charming B&Bs - the places we use in Killarney and Belfast get mentioned in reviews again and again. You'll dine at medieval banquets in real castles and catch the sun setting over the Cliffs of Moher. The pace works well: spend mornings with your guide learning about the Troubles in Derry, then take afternoons to wander together. We balance the big sites like Blarney Castle with local moments, like learning proper pint-pouring technique from Galway pub owners.
Our 6-7 day coach tours hit just the right notes for senior travelers, with comfortable pacing and well-planned routes. You'll see all the Wild Atlantic Way highlights while keeping drive times to 2-3 hours, broken up with plenty of stops. Each day usually offers choices - take an easy walk in Killarney National Park or hop on a jaunting car instead. The included meals get lots of positive feedback, especially our medieval feast nights with live music and also dinners at family restaurants in small towns along the way.
