- 6-Day Dalmatian Luxury Cycling Tour
This was an amazing experience. 8 of us from Arizona and California decided to celebrate my 50 bday biking through Croatia. There are many choices for Croatia bike tours, some better and some not so great. It was early in the season and we did not want to go through a company that acts just as a booking agent or subcontracts its tours. We settled on Laganini and talked directly to one of the owners. All questions and concerns were adequately addressed (some members in our group had dietary preferences, others wanted to make sure that the accommodations were a step higher than what is normally offered on bike tours. After all, we are on vacation.... Our guide Tonci had grown up in the area, was knowledgeable and showed us places that I had not seen before (or heard of), despite having vacationed in middle Dalmatia for more than 10 years. Flawless organization, pickup from the airport, perfect and newer bikes, great support for the occasional technical problem (few other than an occasional flat tire). It was a truly enjoyable tour and we will be back for more.

The Elaphiti Islands work perfectly for families since there's something for everyone. Our family groups spend their days sea kayaking to hidden beaches, trying stand-up paddleboarding in calm bays and biking across Sipan's easy terrain between olive groves and vineyards. Kids especially love snorkeling in the Green Cave, playing Picigin in the shallows and joining local cooking classes in people's homes. Most families stay on quieter Lopud, using daily ferries to reach spots around Dubrovnik Bay and also the nearby islands.
For cyclists looking to explore the Dalmatian coast, we've mapped out routes that combine seaside roads with inland paths through wine country and olive groves. Starting from Split, you'll ride south with daily distances from 25 to 62 kilometers. The e-bikes come in really handy for those uphill climbs to viewpoints above Hvar town - our riders always mention how much they appreciate that option. You'll pedal through white stone villages and past old quarries, with plenty of stops at family wineries and olive farms along the way. Our cycling guests particularly like how the routes mix challenging rides with cultural visits, whether that's wine tasting in Korcula or exploring Ston's medieval fortifications. Having support vehicles means you can tackle those hills at your own speed, and we've picked overnight stops in harbor towns where you can cool off with a swim and also enjoy fresh seafood dinners.

Most of our island explorers choose to go by sail, especially on the routes from Split to Dubrovnik. The 52-foot yachts work really well since they can slip into smaller coves where bigger boats can't go. Our travelers tell us they love the mix - active mornings swimming in sea caves and kayaking near limestone cliffs, then lazy afternoons checking out village life. Some routes focus on wine areas like Peljesac Peninsula while others spend more time in national parks - Mljet's got these amazing salt lakes and an old Benedictine monastery. The best trips leave room for unexpected stops at quiet beaches and also local konobas where the seafood comes straight from the morning catch.

Looking for a good value Croatian sailing experience? Several popular routes kick off in Split and mix sailing with land adventures over 7-8 days. You'll get to walk through Krka's waterfall-filled forests, taste wines in sunny Hvar and finally dock in Dubrovnik. Our travelers tell us they love how these tours balance guided activities with personal time - join the group for dinners and walks or head off to find quiet coves and local wine spots on your own. The boats come with twin cabins and shared bathrooms, daily breakfast and often lunches full of fresh local dishes. Many tours stop at Korcula where you can explore the medieval marble streets and old towers, then maybe join optional evening activities like wine tastings or sunset sails.

Small Group
91 tours in Croatian IslandsOur popular 8-day sailing routes from Split to Dubrovnik show why small-group adventures work so well along Croatia's coast. The 52-foot yachts carry just 8 guests, creating an intimate atmosphere where local skippers guide you to hidden swimming spots, family tavernas, and quiet harbors away from the crowds. These island-hopping journeys blend guided walks through historic towns, optional wine tastings, and independent exploration time, giving you the perfect mix of structure and freedom. You'll discover major sites like the ancient Greek ruins on Vis, pristine salt lakes of Mljet, and Korcula's polished marble streets, while also finding secluded spots like morning swims near the Pakleni Islands. Active travelers can cycle Mljet's national park paths, kayak alongside dramatic limestone cliffs, or hike up to sweeping viewpoints above Hvar's red roofs. The magic comes from having choices - join a traditional cooking class one day, find a private cove for swimming the next, and perhaps meet up with the group later for dinner at a local konoba.

56 tours in Croatian IslandsWant something more exclusive? Our private island-hopping tours give you complete control over your Croatian adventure. Starting from either Split or Dubrovnik with private transfers, you set the pace and schedule. Our clients love being able to change plans on the fly - maybe spending extra time at Brac's beautiful Zlatni Rat beach or fitting in another wine stop on Peljesac Peninsula. You'll have private guides for city walks, so you can really dig into places like Korcula's old town without rushing. Many routes blend coastal exploring with inland experiences, like meeting local winemakers and olive oil producers. It works perfectly for families or small groups who want active mornings followed by lazy afternoon swims.

Looking at week-long island routes from Split to Dubrovnik, you've got some really solid options. Active cyclists can cover 25-45km each day, rolling through old villages in Brac and following Hvar's coastal roads. One popular route takes you across the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain before reaching medieval Korcula. If you're more into swimming and nightlife, there's a route that hits spots like Makarska's cave bar and also Hvar's Carpe Diem club. Our travelers often tell us they love starting their days with coastal rides, then spending afternoons sampling wines at local vineyards. For a cultural angle, you can explore Split's Diocletian Palace and Dubrovnik's city walls with expert guides, plus find time for swims in quiet bays and visits to small fishing communities.
The 10-day sailing trips give you the full Croatian island experience - they kick off with a night in Split before you board a premium boat with private cabins and plenty of deck space for sunbathing. Mornings might find you kayaking near Dubrovnik's walls or cycling in Mljet National Park, while afternoons are perfect for swimming in secluded bays. You'll walk Korcula's marble-lined streets and climb to Hvar's Spanish Fortress to catch the sunset. Our customers like how these tours mix structured activities with free time - you could spend one morning at Krka's waterfalls, then have several hours to find your own favorite spots in Skradin's old town. The local guides make a big difference here; they know exactly which restaurants serve the most authentic food and also which beach bars have the best atmosphere after dark.
Croatia's two-week island routes give you the perfect blend of sailing and culture, moving at that relaxed coastal rhythm that makes Mediterranean travel so special. The complete Croatian experience comes alive when you mix sea days with inland discoveries, letting you wander through Split's ancient core and explore Plitvice's cascading falls before sailing to the islands. Our travelers tell us they love how these longer trips create space for both guided tours and independent wandering - you might start your day walking Dubrovnik's walls with an expert guide, then spend hours discovering hidden corners of Hvar town at your own pace. With two weeks to work with, you can venture beyond the usual stops to quieter islands like Vis and Lastovo, while still experiencing Korcula, Hvar and other favorite destinations. These journeys suit travelers who want physical activity mixed with deep cultural connections, providing time to pedal through Mljet's pine forests, learn traditional recipes in family kitchens and also explore ancient Greek settlements without feeling rushed.
Demographics
The islands work really well for solo travelers, especially our 8-day Split to Dubrovnik sailing route that balances group time with personal space. You'll share a traditional yacht with 8 others, making it natural to connect while exploring the islands. Another solid choice mixes sailing with guided tours - it's great for meeting people as you explore Vis island's military tunnels or join optional wine tastings. Our local skippers know exactly where to stop for morning swims and which family-run konobas serve the freshest seafood dinners. You get a comfortable twin-share cabin and plenty of deck space to either socialize or find a quiet spot with a book.
Young adults looking for culture and good nights out will love our premium 8-day sailing tours. During the day you'll walk through Hvar's historic sites, then experience the island's buzzing nightlife after dark. We include guided walks through medieval towns but leave plenty of free time for kayaking near Dubrovnik's walls or joining spontaneous beach parties. There's also a popular route starting in Zagreb that takes in Plitvice Lakes before heading coastward - perfect for mixing national parks with island life. Our travelers really appreciate how these tours balance structured activities with free time, whether that's group dinners at local wineries, discovering hidden beaches or checking out bars and clubs.
Sailing routes between Split and Dubrovnik work beautifully for seniors exploring Croatia's islands, with comfortable 8-day journeys featuring private cabins and daily breakfast. Our travelers tell us how these tours strike just the right balance, mixing cultural experiences like wandering Korcula's marble streets with peaceful afternoons swimming in secluded bays. Along the way, guests visit family-run wineries and olive farms, tasting regional specialties without feeling rushed. For those who prefer staying on land, the 6-8 day island explorer tours use premium hotels as bases, which means less packing and unpacking throughout the trip. The itineraries connect major landmarks including Split's UNESCO old town with hidden gems like the Blaca Hermitage on Brac, and include support vehicles for added comfort. What sets these tours apart, according to our senior guests, are the local guides who adjust the walking pace naturally and know exactly where to find authentic local restaurants away from the crowds. Both sailing and land options keep groups small, giving guides the flexibility to adapt activities based on everyone's preferences and energy levels.
Our 8-day Dubrovnik trip works brilliantly for families, combining kayaking, swimming and also cycling. Parents love how the active mornings let kids burn energy paddling to Sunj Beach or jumping from cliffs into secluded caves, while afternoons give everyone time to relax. There's a lovely route through Lopud's quiet bays where your family can join locals playing traditional beach games like Picigin. Having a support boat means you can easily adjust each day's activities, and our guides really connect with kids while sharing local culture. The families who travel with us particularly mention how much their children enjoy snorkeling in hidden coves, playing group games on sandy beaches and taking scenic bike rides through Sipan.

The routes run 6-8 days from Split down to Dubrovnik, and you can choose daily rides between 25-45km depending on how energetic you feel. Our island programs really open up in summer with something for everyone. Sailing tours head out from Split harbor several times a week, with options from cozy 8-person yachts to premium vessels featuring air-conditioned cabins and professional chefs. Most summer routes mix morning swims around the Pakleni Islands with afternoon visits to Vis's Greek ruins or Lastovo's beautiful Venetian buildings. We've created specific routes for younger travelers that combine island visits with evening entertainment in Hvar town and also Makarska's cave club. The summer BBQ nights in quiet bays are always a hit with our customers, along with guided walks through Korcula's medieval center. Looking at Croatia's top bike tour companies, Laganini stands out for getting the details right - their bikes are properly maintained, you'll sleep in quality hotels and the meals really showcase local Croatian cooking. Our travelers keep mentioning how much they enjoy those regional dishes after a good day's ride. Intrepid Travel's "Explore Croatia" tour has earned solid feedback, especially for their Croatian guide who knows exactly when to add those extra special touches. They're good at keeping everything running smoothly without making it feel too rigid or structured. TourRadar's combo trip "Croatian islands cruise + Land tour with Plitvice" has had some bumps - mainly last-minute switches with hotels and route changes that caught people off guard. But when it comes to the sailing portion, Katarina Line Cruises consistently delivers great service. Their ships are comfortable, the crew really takes care of their guests and they've picked some beautiful routes along the coast. The nice thing about Katarina Line is they've figured out those perfect sailing routes that let you see the islands without spending too much time at sea. Their crews know just how to balance organized activities with free time to explore.
