So here we go - it was an awesome time with great people, amazing places and just the right mix of relaxing (mostly on the boat while sunbathing...) and doing things including amazing parties. Great people, great food (on the boat too) and the boat-crew was amazing too. Honestly: If you love beaches, beautiful stunning places and having an absalut incredible time, this is just the perfect trip. A very special shout out to both Ivan and Ryan for being the best guides you can think of. :)

The most amazing trip with the best group of people! The trip ran so smoothly right from the airport pick up. It was amazing to see so many islands of Croatia in such a small time, being able to balance culture and history of towns as well as the nightlife! The crew on board the boat were incredible and catered to our every need and provided plenty of amazing food. Ivan and Ryan were also so knowledgable about the area and made sure we always got the best value as well as joining us out and being amazing company! Would 100% recommend!

Our travelers keep coming back amazed by Plitvice Lakes National Park's crystal-clear pools and waterfalls - it really sets the tone for what makes exploring the Adriatic so special. When you hop between the Dalmatian islands, you'll find Hvar's lovely vineyards and lively nightlife, while Korcula lets you trace Marco Polo's footsteps through medieval streets while tasting excellent local wines. For active types, Sipan Island offers fantastic kayaking spots and cliff jumping at the Green Cave, and cycling through Mljet National Park combines pristine nature with good exercise. The food here ties everything together beautifully - our guests particularly love the fresh seafood, traditional Dalmatian meat loaf and unique GRK white wines from the region. We've found April through June or September to October offer the best experience, with pleasant temperatures and fewer tourists around, making it easier to really connect with local life and traditions.
See all Adriatic toursThe Croatian islands deliver some of the Adriatic's best experiences, with three spots that our travelers keep coming back to. Dubrovnik's Old Town pulls you right into medieval times with its well-kept walls and historic squares, while Plitvice Lakes National Park lets you wander across wooden walkways connecting 16 lakes and waterfalls. Over on Hvar, you'll find a mix of limestone coves and fragrant lavender fields, alongside lively evening spots and family wineries tucked into the hills. Most of our customers really enjoy taking small ships along the Dalmatian coast - they spend their days finding hidden beaches, jumping into clear blue-green waters and finishing up in quiet ports with the catch of the day and local wines. The sweet spot for visiting is during May-June or September-October when the islands feel more authentic, crowds thin out and temperatures stay just right for coastal hikes and exploring old towns.

Croatia's hiking paths range from Plitvice's waterfall trails to rocky coastal routes. The Paklenica National Park trek stands out as our most booked option - you'll walk through limestone gorges with paths for both casual walkers and experienced hikers. The historic Premuziceva Trail, constructed in the 1930s, links the best views across Velebit mountain. Our travelers often mention the 7 Waterfalls Trail near Buzet, where old mine shafts, shepherd shelters and clear pools dot the path. Many people like mixing their walks with culture - you might start your morning in Split's old quarter and spend your afternoon following Istria's Parenzana Trail past olive trees.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursSail the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, connect with nature in UNESCO-listed Plitvice Lakes National Park, or cycle past lavender fields on the island of Hvar. From diving into the blue Grotto to exploring striking Dubrovnik, Croatia is an absolute stunner.
See all Active toursCroatia's coastal beauty really comes alive when you're exploring it by bike. The popular routes start from Split and follow the Dalmatian coastline, with daily rides between 27 and 62 kilometers. Our cyclists tell us they love how the tours mix good riding with cultural stops - you'll cycle past olive groves and vineyards on Hvar, then park up to explore Renaissance towns properly. Several routes include riding the old Parenzana railway trail, where you'll go through tunnels and over viaducts that give you a different view of rural Istria. You can choose tours with a support vehicle if you want that extra peace of mind, while keen cyclists tend to go for the longer routes through Mljet National Park and along the Peljesac Peninsula. What works so well is having active mornings on the bike then afternoons getting to know the area - loads of our travelers mention how much they enjoy ending their rides with wine tasting or swimming in quiet bays.

Top operators in Croatia
Based on what our travelers have shared, Croatia's top active tour options really come down to your travel style and budget. INTRO Travel has built quite a following for their sailing tours - their guide Anna keeps getting mentioned in reviews for making the trips both fun and informative. She knows her stuff and has a way of bringing the coastal history to life while keeping the mood light. If you're into cycling, Laganini runs excellent bike tours that hit a sweet spot between active and luxurious. Their guides Tonci and Toma lead really well-planned routes, and at day's end you're staying in quality hotels and enjoying proper local meals. It's more expensive than some options but our customers say it's worth it for the personal attention and thoughtful details. Those wanting to dig deeper into Croatian culture should look at Travel Jaz - they handle all the logistics smoothly and their guide Josip is particularly good at weaving stories about local traditions and history throughout the journey. For travelers watching their budget, G Adventures runs solid group tours at better prices. Just keep in mind the hotels can be a bit basic sometimes, but the actual touring part is well organized. Their groups tend to bond quickly since you're all sharing the experience together.

"This was a combined trip/s from Berlin to Budapest and then Budapest to Spit so I had an experience with two different tour groups. The scenery and history is explained so well by our tour guide and learning more about the Serb/Bosnian war was invaluable. Auschwitch was cold, wet and raining and it depicted the conditions under which these people had to survive. Very moving day indeed for all. Budapest has such beautiful scenery and lovely icecream, cakes and chocolates! Spit is a walled city and I was there before the crowds which made it more comfortable for all.

"Amalia was the most incredible guide! Despite not being from Croatia it was clear that she had taken the time to research the country and ensure she was able to not only do her job well but to expedite expectations! (and she did!) She knew basics in the language everything about the local area and able to recommend good spots to visit. Her attention to detail was impeccable, she included everyone all the time and made sure that everyone was accommodated for at every minute of the trip! It's very clear to me that Amalia loves her job and takes pride in doing it well. If only I was rich enough i would hire Amalia to be my personal tour guide for all my holidays!

"We were on a boat - Omega Kiss which had mosquitos on board which had access to our compartments. Interior paneling that allowed us to see in our neighbors compartment. Trash in bathroom not being picked up , need for pans and utensils in kitchen - our door knob kept falling off. The Captain could care less about providing a trip that we were comfortable with -He was In a hurry to get to the next port- only sailed for several hours even though we had fantastic opportunities to sail our last days. Would motor to our final ports without stopping to swim and have lunch just so he could get off the boat. Tour Radar attempted to add charges after our final contract and would not let us cancel what we knew was bound to be an awkward affair . Our departure price was reduced and Intrepid should honor their lowest price guarantee . Not a good experience at all - Intrepid promised the moon and didn't at all deliver. really regret having anything to do with trip - felt cheated and overcharged.

Best places to start your Croatia tour
Split stands out as the main jumping-off point for Croatia tours with 45 of our travelers choosing to start here, followed by Dubrovnik with 20 departures and Zagreb with 14. The coastal gems of Trogir and also Zadar see smaller numbers with 6 and 5 tour starts. Our booking patterns show you should lock in your plans about 4.5 months ahead, especially if you're eyeing those popular island-hopping tours in summer. Early mornings work best for exploring the UNESCO sites in these cities - you'll beat both the crowds and the heat. This timing trick is especially useful at Plitvice Lakes, where morning light creates ideal conditions for photos and you'll have more space to enjoy the trails.
Discover Croatia tours for every budget
Croatia's budget-friendly tours include a really practical 8-day coastal route from Split to Dubrovnik. Our travelers like how it mixes hostel stays with organized activities, giving you free time plus included experiences like swimming at Zlatni Rat and exploring Dubrovnik's city walls. There's also a solid 6-day option starting in Zagreb and heading south to Split - you'll get proper time at Plitvice Lakes National Park to explore the wooden walkways and waterfalls. Our budget-conscious guests tell us they love having accommodation sorted while picking their own restaurants and daily activities. The multi-day sailing trips from Split work nicely too - shared cabins keep costs down while you get the full Croatian island experience stopping at Hvar, Korčula and quiet swimming spots.
Croatia's premium experiences shine through elegant sailing voyages and upscale land tours. A particularly good 7-day journey between Split and Dubrovnik includes nights in heritage hotels and private tastings at family wineries. Our guests often mention the personal touches, especially at places like Santa Lucia Heritage Hotel in Split's finest square. The luxury cycling option's quite special too - you'll ride quality bikes between carefully picked four-star hotels with a support vehicle nearby. The routes take you through Hvar's lavender fields and along Pelješac's wine roads, finishing each day with local gourmet dinners. Private yacht charters run by local crews add another layer of luxury, with custom routes through the Dalmatian islands.

Our week-long Croatia tours really hit the sweet spot between active days and cultural visits. There's a fantastic cycling route through the Dalmatian islands where you'll cover 25-40km daily, riding past olive groves and vineyards. Our customers love how the mornings are for cycling and afternoons mix swimming with local wine tastings. If you prefer being on water, the sailing tour from Split to Dubrovnik is spot-on - you'll stop at Mljet's lush islands and spend time in Korčula with its medieval charm. For those who like varied terrain, we've got a route combining Plitvice Lakes' hiking trails with coastal exploring; you'll walk through interesting karst formations and get proper time in Split's historic center. The younger crowd tends to go for our Zagreb-to-Dubrovnik route, which includes waterfall swimming and Hvar's buzzing beach scene. What makes these really special though? Our guides - they're locals who know every hidden corner and our travelers constantly tell us how their insights make the whole experience richer.

Our Croatian sailing trips from Split naturally bring solo travelers together as they discover hidden bays and small ports. The 10-day journeys mix morning activities like kayaking near Dubrovnik's walls and cycling in Mljet National Park with lazy afternoon swims in quiet coves. For those interested in local culture, we offer trips where you'll cook Croatian dishes in family homes and explore Split's ancient core with city experts. Groups stay small at 8-12 people, making it easy to become part of the crew. The format works well - group dinners create bonds while leaving enough space to explore places like Hvar's fortress independently.
Our luxury cycling tours along the Dalmatian Coast are particularly popular with couples. You can pedal at your own rhythm past vineyards, olive groves and limestone cliffs, stopping for wine tastings and swims in secluded coves. The sailing-cycling combo trips let you explore islands during the day before settling in for intimate dinners in historic ports. Couples who book our premium Split to Dubrovnik route love the boutique hotels and private sunset sails to the Elafiti Islands. The mix of guided activities and couple time works perfectly - whether you're exploring Korcula's marble streets or finding a quiet spot on Hvar.
Our sailing trips for young adults pack in daytime adventure and evening entertainment. You'll spend days swimming in sea caves and snorkeling in clear waters, then head out to Hvar's beach clubs and Dubrovnik's castle nightspots after dark. The trips blend culture like Split walking tours with active fun - think kayaking city walls and cycling national parks. Life on the boat creates instant friendships over deck lunches and konoba dinners. Our travelers appreciate having free time to join spontaneous boat parties or check out Game of Thrones locations with their new friends.
Our cycling tours work well for active seniors with routes that avoid steep sections, covering 30-40 kilometers each day and keeping a support vehicle close by. People especially enjoy the family winery visits on Korcula and guided walks through UNESCO towns. The walking-focused trips offer a great alternative - you'll explore Plitvice Lakes on wooden walkways and walk Paklenica National Park's gorges at a comfortable tempo. Quality accommodation and reasonably-timed group dinners round out each day. Our travelers often mention how much they value the local guides who share Croatia's rich history while matching the group's preferred pace.
The 8-day family trip on Lopud Island hits a sweet spot for parents and kids alike. Mornings are filled with kayaking to Sunj Beach where kids join in Picigin, a traditional Croatian beach game. The schedule works really well - active mornings lead into free afternoons when families can swim and snorkel at their own pace. Over on Sipan Island, traffic-free cycling paths wind through olive groves, and the old fortified churches spark kids' curiosity. Many families tell us the cave kayaking is a highlight, with optional cliff jumping into clear waters for the adventurous ones. Our local guides have a knack for making Dubrovnik's walls and Split's Roman palace come alive for younger visitors.

The spring walking tours are excellent too, with small groups of 6-7 people exploring Plitvice Lakes on wooden walkways and heading into the quieter parts of Paklenica National Park. Our travelers particularly like mixing active mornings with cultural stops; you might cycle through olive groves, then spend afternoons wandering Split's Roman ruins or tasting wines at family vineyards.
