What people love about Mauritius Tours
- Mauritian Wonders (3* Hotel)
I had a great time in Mauritius on this 7 night break. The tour operator was very helpful and kept in touch throughout, and the day trip incorporated into the main trip was very enjoyable with a lovely tour guide. Transfers from and to the airport went very smoothly with friendly. I also booked 3 additional tours through the tour operator, all of which showed me so many sides to the island in terms of History, demographics, core industries. The hotel was more run down than expected from their website but the room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful given I seemed to be the only solo traveller there. My key disappointment was in the quality of the taste of the food at the hotel; desserts were done very well but the flavours for starters and main courses were lacking. Also I found it unusual that there was no bottled water provided as a matter of courtesy. I felt initially confined to the hotel for food but eventually navigated the local bus system which is very good to get to the main town of Grand Baie. This would have been great information provided at the start of my trip. Mauritius is a fabulous island, the beaches are beautiful, the local people have a wonderful vibe, the weather was excellent. Big thanks to Nawfal and Vanessa (SummerTimes)
- Mauritian Wonders (4* Hotel)
Mauritius is great, the hotel was great (might be nice if you could decide for a specific room before going (more busy, more quiet etc.), the trip that was included in my package was fun, the contact person of TourRadar took great care of me… the feedback of TourRadar to my question was quickly. Only the TourRadar homepage itself is not right structured for me personally. I couldn’t find details instinctively l, every time searching the same Infos ??♀️
Travel Mauritius your way
Our most complete Mauritius exploration tours take you through the island's key natural and cultural spots. You'll get to visit the Trou-Aux-Cerfs volcano crater, where the views stretch out in every direction across the island. The local craftsmen show you how they make detailed 18th-century ship models by hand, and you'll visit Ganga Talao - a mountain lake that's deeply important to the Hindu community. Our travelers often tell us how much they enjoy Chamarel's unique geology, with its seven-colored earth patterns and waterfalls. Many tours include water sports at beachfront hotels, and we've balanced guided activities with free time so you can discover things at your own rhythm.

SummerTimes does really well with day trips and personal service - their guides get a lot of praise from our travelers for being helpful and keeping everyone informed. They're quick to respond and good at working out the details. The catch is that some of their hotel bookings haven't quite met expectations, with a few customers mentioning rooms that needed updating or weren't as nice as the photos suggested. If you're mainly interested in their guided excursions and day tours you'll likely have a great experience, but for overnight stays you might want to book your accommodations separately or double-check recent reviews of specific hotels they use. I should mention that they seem to be listening to feedback - they've started partnering with some new properties in popular areas. But for now, I'd say focus on their strengths: well-organized day trips, knowledgeable local guides and solid communication throughout the booking process.

15 tours in MauritiusPrivate tours in Mauritius give you that extra bit of freedom to explore at your own rhythm. Our 4-6 day circuits come with dedicated guides who'll adapt to your pace. You'll start at the Trou-Aux-Cerfs volcanic crater, where you can take those perfect sunrise shots without feeling rushed. From there, your guide will introduce you to the skilled artisans at Voiliers de l'Ocean crafting detailed ship models, before heading up through the forests to Ganga Talao, a sacred Hindu lake nestled in Plaine Champagne. What our travelers really love about going private is the flexibility - like at Chamarel's seven-colored earth and waterfall. The colors shift throughout the day, and you can time your visit just right for photos. You'll stay in either 3-star hotels around Grand Baie or 4-star spots in Balaclava, with your own vehicle and driver to time visits perfectly to places like Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens and that lovely red-roofed church at Cap Malheureux. Lots of our guests go for the longer version with a catamaran day along the east coast. While the boat trip is shared, you'll get private transfers to and from the marina. The day includes exploring quiet lagoons and a stop at Ile aux Cerfs. Having your own guide means practical perks too - like choosing the best time to visit Port Louis market or deciding how long to spend at interesting spots like the Blue Penny Museum and local sugar factory tours.

Don't miss out on visiting:
Grand Baie, Black River Gorges National Park, Chamarel, Le Morne
Our 10-day Mauritius tours combine active mornings with laid-back afternoons in really smart ways. You'll start your days swimming alongside wild dolphins, then move on to snorkel at rich coral reefs before settling in for a proper local BBQ lunch right there on Benitiers Island. The hiking through Black River Gorges National Park covers over 60km of trails, leading you to Alexandra Falls and the sacred waters of Ganga Talao Lake. Our travelers tell us they love diving into Port Louis' central market, especially trying the local favorite - pineapple sprinkled with chili salt. We've mixed things up nicely with visits to historic sugar estates and rum distilleries, plus time at La Vanille Nature Reserve where Aldabra tortoises and Nile crocodiles roam freely.
Don't miss out on visiting:
Île aux Cerfs, Trou Aux Cerfs, Black River Gorges National Park, Port Louis, Cap Malheureux, Chamarel
See all toursThe two-week Dubai and Mauritius combination really lets you experience two distinct worlds. Start in Dubai exploring the old Al Fahidi quarter and the planet's biggest mall, then fly over to Mauritius where nature takes center stage. The island portion includes climbing the 556-meter Le Morne Brabant for fantastic ocean panoramas, getting up close to the Seven Colored Earth formations and cooling off in Rochester Falls' pools. Our guests particularly appreciate having enough time to discover quiet spots like the rare Talipot palm at Pamplemousses Gardens and catch the sunset at Cap Malheureux's red-roofed chapel. With 14 days, you can properly explore both the wild south coast, the sheltered northern beaches and still have plenty of downtime.

Demographics
Our solo packages in Mauritius give you the perfect mix of structure and freedom. The local bus network makes it simple to hop around Grand Baie on your own once you're settled at the hotel. We've got some excellent day excursions where you'll join other travelers - checking out the Trou-Aux-Cerfs volcano crater and those fascinating multicolored earth formations at Chamarel. The evenings are yours to fill as you like. One thing that really makes a difference is how attentive the hotel staff are with solo guests, plus the rooms are properly spacious so you've got your own comfortable space. A lot of our travelers end up booking the optional catamaran trip to Ile aux Cerfs - it's a natural way to meet people while enjoying a fresh BBQ lunch as you sail along the east coast.
If you're in your 20s and early 30s, you'll probably click with our 9-10 day active tours. They pack in some proper adventures like swimming with wild dolphins and exploring the coral reefs near Benitiers Island. The hiking takes you through private estates where deer roam freely, and there's this particularly challenging 70-meter climb that'll give you something to feel proud about. We've balanced organized activities with free time - you can join the group heading to Casela World of Adventures or just take it easy at your hotel's beach. You'll stay in solid 3-star and 4-star spots around Grand Baie and Balaclava, which puts you right where you want to be for restaurants, bars and also local nightlife.

Best time to visit Mauritius
- Spring 2025
Spring is really pleasant for our nature-focused tours, with 3-star and 4-star hotels in Grand Baie or Balaclava serving as your home base. The weather is just right for capturing morning light at Trou-Aux-Cerfs crater before meeting local artisans at Voiliers de l'Ocean. Black River Gorges National Park tours are particularly good this time of year - you'll stop at local spots for lunch with coastal views on your way to see Chamarel's seven-colored earth. What makes these tours special is the option to add water activities - banana boats, water skiing, sailing trips along the east coast with stops for swimming and also snorkeling.
