What people love about Newfoundland And Labrador Tours
- Newfoundland & Labrador
The coach tour allowed us to visit many parts of Newfoundland Labrador that we couldn't have done driving ourselves. Our guide kept us entertained for the longer rides on the bus. Most accommodations were excellent a couple of the motel ones were only fair.
- Newfoundland & Labrador's Viking Trail from Corner Brook
Karen and Cliff were the best guide and driver. So organized and just a pleasure to be with. The daily activities were excellent. The accommodations were as good as can be expected in that area. We never had much time to unwind between between into our rooms and dinner. Dinner at 6:30 is just too early for us. The food was okay but often served cold and always rushed. My husband's gluten free diet was easily catered to by all locations.
- Newfoundland Explorer from Corner Brook
What an excellent tour and an excellent value. The tour director for Atlantic Tours went over and above. They undersold what we would be doing on our itinerary and we did so much more than advertised. However do your research for when to visit because the prime time to visit seems to be between mid June to early July.
What our customers ask about Newfoundland and Labrador Tours & Trips
When's the best time to catch those amazing icebergs in Newfoundland?
You'll want to plan your visit between April and August but May and June are really when the action happens. Twillingate's actually known as the Iceberg Capital of the World and it's incredible what you'll see from the boat tours there. Our Newfoundland Adventure Eastbound travelers always get excited about their Twillingate excursions and if you're here in June or early July you might spot icebergs that are absolutely massive like Titanic-sized no kidding!
What kind of wildlife can you spot in Newfoundland and Labrador?
The wildlife here is just incredible you've got these massive humpbacks finbacks and minke whales plus the cutest puffins moose caribou and so many seabirds. There's actually the largest concentration of humpback whales in the world right here and we're known as North America's Seabird Capital with the continent's biggest Atlantic puffin sanctuary. You can get up close on whale watching trips visit the puffin colony at Elliston or explore Gros Morne National Park for wildlife spotting.
How do I really experience authentic Newfoundland culture?
You've got to try the Screech-in ceremony it's this fun local tradition where you take a shot of screech rum say a little rhyme and yes actually kiss a cod fish! Most pubs and restaurants in St. John's like Celtic Hearth offer it and our Newfoundland & Labrador tour groups always have a blast doing it at their farewell dinner.
What places beyond St. John's should I definitely check out?
You absolutely can't miss Gros Morne National Park it's UNESCO listed and just stunning with amazing hiking trails and boat tours through Western Brook Pond and Bonne Bay. L'Anse aux Meadows is fascinating with its Viking history sod huts and Norse artifacts while Red Bay in Labrador shows you this incredible 16th-century Basque whaling station. You can reach all these spots either with organized tours or by driving yourself and there are ferries connecting Newfoundland to Labrador.
