Then there's Grand-Pré National Historic Site a UNESCO World Heritage Site that tells the powerful story of Acadian history. Both places give you this amazing chance to really understand and connect with the region's past in a meaningful way.
What local foods should you definitely try?
You haven't really experienced the Maritimes until you've had a traditional lobster supper they serve these at restaurants halls and even right on lobster boats with fresh Atlantic lobster mussels potatoes and local sides. Make sure to try the scallops in Digby Nova Scotia they're known as the scallop capital for good reason. Pick up some dulse seaweed and fiddleheads at local markets they're unique treats you won't find many other places. For something really special book a lobster dinner on a New Brunswick lobster boat or join an authentic Acadian lobster boil.
