Stephanie really made this tour so special with her extensive knowledge and expert driving skills. We had a fabulous time and I would highly recommend this tour. Loved all the little places we stopped for fish and chips lunch and community run eateries. GoT sites were good and the seaside stay In Bangor was excellent. What our customers ask about Ulster Tours & Trips
When is the best time to visit Ulster Country Region?
Ulster's prime visiting season runs from June through September with mild temperatures between 15-20°C and extended daylight hours. The warmest months July and August draw the largest crowds. Spring and fall visits (April-May and September-October) offer pleasant weather with fewer tourists making it ideal for exploring the Causeway Coast. Winter months from November to March bring cold wet conditions but reward visitors with powerful coastal views. A TourRadar traveler noted "We visited in September and had perfect weather for exploring the coastal paths and historic sites."
What types of accommodation can I expect on Ulster Country Region tours?
The accommodation landscape in Ulster ranges from local B&Bs to city hotels. Visitors can stay at places like the Westville Hotel in Enniskillen or the Mandalay B&B in Belfast's center. Some tours feature distinctive options such as glamping sites in County Donegal where guests can connect with nature. The Central Hotel in Donegal Town serves as a convenient stop along the Wild Atlantic Way. According to TourRadar reviews "The B&B accommodations were excellent especially Shelleven House in Belfast which offered both comfort and authentic Irish hospitality."
What are the must-see highlights of Ulster Country Region tours?
The Giant's Causeway with its 40000 hexagonal basalt columns stands as Ulster's premier attraction alongside the clifftop ruins of Dunluce Castle. Visitors can walk Derry's historic walls explore Belfast's Titanic Quarter and photograph the Dark Hedges and Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. The well-reviewed Shelleven House in Belfast provides an excellent starting point for regional exploration. A TourRadar traveler shared "The coastal drive and Giant's Causeway were absolutely spectacular offering views you won't find anywhere else."
What kind of food experiences can I expect in Ulster?
The food scene in Ulster combines traditional Irish cooking with contemporary dining. Tour packages typically cover hotel breakfasts while giving travelers freedom to discover local restaurants for other meals. The region's specialties include fresh seafood in Portstewart traditional Irish stew in Belfast's pubs and tastings at Bushmills Distillery. TourRadar travelers often mention the "excellent seafood restaurants along the coast and welcoming atmosphere of local pubs."
What's the difference between Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland portions of Ulster tours?
Ulster tours cross between Northern Ireland (UK) and the Republic creating a comprehensive regional experience. Travelers need both pounds sterling for Northern Ireland and euros for the Republic. Northern Ireland features the Causeway Coast and Belfast's industrial sites while County Donegal in the Republic showcases wilderness areas and Gaelic communities. TourRadar travelers note how tours "effectively showcase the unique characteristics and shared heritage of both regions."
How physically demanding are Ulster Country Region tours?
Ulster tours generally fall into the "Easy" to moderate activity range making them accessible for most travelers. Daily activities include walking the Giant's Causeway exploring Belfast and Derry on foot and optional cliff walks at The Gobbins. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The pace was perfect - plenty of time to explore sites without feeling rushed with optional activities for those wanting more adventure like the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge walk."
