What people love about West Coast Canada Tours
- Rockies Summer Classic Tour
I loved that trip! The company was well organized and Rhawnie has a huge knowledge about the Rockies which she shared with us. The lakes are really shimmering in that turquoise how you can see it on the post cards. Banff and Jasper are beautiful national parks, recommending going there! Discover Canada Tours offered excellent customer service, because I had some questions and they came straight back to me ASAP. Would go every time again!

- Rockies Premium Tour from Vancouver (34 Seats)
It was very good. We really enjoyed despite the initial hiccups. The guide and driver were really friendly and helpful. The food could have been better.

Several excellent multi-day treks take you through the Canadian Rockies' remarkable terrain, with routes running 8-13 days across Banff and Jasper's best spots. Our travelers tell us they really love the Lake Louise sections, where paths lead to cozy mountain teahouses tucked beside clear alpine waters. The climbs up Sulphur Skyline and through the Valley of Five Lakes are particular highlights - you'll work your way steadily above the treeline for complete panoramas across Jasper National Park. These tours do a great job mixing the well-known spots like Moraine Lake with quieter trails like Burstall Pass, where you'll find glacier views and meadows full of wildflowers.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursExplore a wide diversity of coach / bus tours through West Coast Canada. We have 73 adventures that vary from 3 days to 17 days. With the greatest number of departures in June, this is also the most popular time of the year.
See all Coach / Bus toursThe Canadian Rockies explorer tours really get you into the heart of the wilderness, combining nights under star-filled skies with active days out in nature. Our travelers keep telling us how much they love canoeing across clear mountain lakes, biking through wide valleys and following forest paths into the backcountry. Lake Louise comes up again and again in the feedback - especially the hikes to tucked-away teahouses and the chances to photograph those glass-smooth waters. The routes typically include time at Okanagan Lake, guided walks on the Columbia Icefields and also free periods where you can choose extras like white-water rafting on Kicking Horse River or paddling at Maligne Lake. What makes these tours work so well is the small group size and the hands-on camping setup - our customers often mention how much they enjoy pitching in and getting to know their fellow travelers.

Based on what we've heard from our travelers, G Adventures and Intrepid are the top picks for exploring the Canadian Rockies. Their guides really make the difference - folks who've traveled with Michelle Tepel and Will Flowers from G Adventures consistently mention how their deep knowledge adds layers to the experience. They know where to spot wildlife, understand the geology and share interesting stories about the area. Bindlestiff Tours does camping really well, and they provide quality gear that holds up in mountain conditions. But we've noticed some hiccups with their scheduling lately, and a few of our customers mentioned trouble getting responses from their customer service team when issues came up. Discover Canada Tours is a decent option and typically delivers good value, but they've got some room for improvement. The feedback we get is mixed - while the routes and stops are solid, sometimes the basics need attention. We've heard about buses that could use better cleaning and meals that don't quite hit the mark. If you're weighing options, I'd lean toward G Adventures or Intrepid, especially if you're after that genuine Canadian Rockies experience. They've got the logistics dialed in, plus you'll be traveling with guides who really know their stuff and groups that tend to gel well together.

"Discover Canada hosted an incredible Christmas trip into the Rockies. Our guide, Ryan, was knowledgeable, amusing, and brought amazing energy to the trip. The bus was clean and new and our accommodations each night were also clean and suitable. The trip involves a lot of of driving and bus time, but entirely worth it. I look forward to completing another trip with Discover Canada again in the future.

When you're not wildlife watching, you might find yourself paddling on crystal-clear lakes, tracking down hidden waterfalls or walking atop ancient glaciers. Some tours add nice local touches too - like chatting with retired Mounties or getting hockey insights from Canadian players. It's enough time to catch the essence of the Rockies without committing to a longer trip.

Best time to visit West Coast Canada
- Spring 2025
Western Canada opens up nicely for spring tours with exceptional wildlife viewing. Our travelers often tell us how much they love the guided experiences around Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, where pristine waters meet emerging wildlife. Several excellent tours run 8-12 days from Vancouver and Calgary, combining time at Columbia Icefield with wildlife spotting along the Icefields Parkway. You might catch black bears coming out of winter dens, elk moving through valleys, mountain goats and also bighorn sheep on the slopes. These experiences include guided nature walks through Maligne Canyon, stops at hidden teahouses, and opportunities to photograph crystal-clear alpine lakes without the summer crowds. The tours work particularly well because guides adjust routes based on wildlife patterns - they've mapped out where bears forage in spring meadows and where elk graze in quiet valleys. Our customers frequently mention that moderate temperatures make hiking more pleasant, especially on trails around Lake Agnes and through the Valley of Five Lakes. Some itineraries weave in cultural touches like chats with retired Mounties, visits to local farms and also wine tastings in Kelowna's valleys.

Summer in the mountains means longer trips, with tours running 4-12 days that let you fully immerse in outdoor living. The popular camping tours near the turquoise lakes are a hit with our customers - everyone helps set up camp which really builds good group connections. You'll paddle across Clearwater Lake, trek through the Valley of Ten Peaks and often spot bears along Fitzsimmons Creek. Many trips mix up the active days with relaxing stops at Kelowna's vineyards for wine tasting, then nights camping under incredibly clear starlit skies. What makes these tours work so well is the variety - one day you're mountain biking through meadows full of wildflowers, the next you're navigating the rapids of Kicking Horse River. Our guests tell us they love how the small groups let guides adjust the routes and activity levels to match what everyone wants to do.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
The Rockies shine in a special way during autumn tours, with our travelers telling us they love how activities blend perfectly with the seasonal colors. Those classic 4-day routes from Vancouver reach Lake Louise and Moraine Lake right when the larches turn golden, and you'll find opportunities to canoe on glacier-fed waters without the summer crowds. Our guests frequently mention the wine tasting in Kelowna's Okanagan Valley before heading up into mountains where wildlife begins preparing for winter. If you opt for the premium 5-day version, you'll get extra comfort at mountain resorts and more time at places like Emerald Lake, where autumn brings perfect mirror-like reflections in the calm waters. The guides make these fall tours work beautifully by adjusting routes based on conditions - knowing exactly which spots offer clear mountain views and which hiking trails remain accessible as the weather cools. Our customers particularly appreciate having Banff's streets more to themselves in autumn, often noting how the softer evening light creates ideal photography conditions along the Icefields Parkway.
