What people love about Bicycle Tours in Portugal
- Cycling Portugal - Porto to Lisbon
I will be booking another holiday with Explore. I hope my favourable comments re the tour leader will be passed on. Special mention also to Mariana who drove the van and led a bike ride one day. She was also very competent, joined in with everything and was a joy to be with.
- Cycle Portugal - Lisbon to Algarve
Guide was excellent. A lot of riding on busy highways with no shoulders. Also a lot of off road cycling. Plenty of rest stops. Hills were all doable. Meals not included were 15 to 25 euros each.
- Porto to Lisbon Atlantic Ride
I would recommend this tour to anyone. While the biking was a challenge at times (more hills, more technical riding than I had anticipated), the scenery was amazing and the group dynamic could not have been better. People and the guide supported you no matter what--if you climbed up a hill, walked your bike or rode in the van, you had the freedom and support to do what was best for you. It was very well organized during the rides, and we had some freedom to either be with the whole group, with a smaller group or by ourselves in the evenings and that flexible approach to downtime was appreciated. Our guides Marco and Joan were the best; they clearly love their jobs and their country and were eager to share its history and culture with us. Their warmth and sense of humor are things I will remember fondly from the trip. People on the tour were a mix of friends traveling together, couples, and people who came alone. Toughest part of the trip was saying good-bye to them but I look forward to exploring other parts of the world with this tour group.
