Reviews of Thailand Family Tours

Ant was super fantastic. First tour. I'd do it again.
- Customized Private Family Tour in Northern Thailand, Daily Depart
Guide: Bam was a great guide, friendly and knowledgeable. Had good recommendations on the food and treats we should try. Attractions: Of course there were temples on the itinery and the ones we went to were definitely worth our time for the artwork and/or scenic views (White temple is a must-see). Also a fun boat ride along the Mekong seeing Laos and Myanmar. Lodging: Really nice resorts for both cities: The Rim Resort Chiang Mai on the west side of the Old City (inside the moat) and the Legend Chiang Rai right along the River Kok. Both are a bit far from the night market but it's a cheap cab/tuk tuk ride or a decent walk to walk off the meal. Meals: dinners weren't included but that's actually a positive because it gave us the opportunity to venture out to the local night markets where all the tourists went about.

This was a fantastic value. The guides were fantastic and so was the itinerary. The hotels were so so. Two were terrific and two not so great. However excellent trip and tour radar service was top notch. Definitely recommend
What our customers ask about Thailand Family Tours
What are the best family-friendly activities and attractions in Thailand?
Thailand's range of activities makes it an excellent destination for families. Children can get close to elephants at respected sanctuaries such as the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai where they learn about conservation. The clear waters around Phuket and Krabi are perfect for boat trips to see marine life. In Bangkok the golden spires of Wat Phra Kaew draw young visitors into Thai culture while Phang Nga Bay's limestone cliffs create natural playgrounds. A TourRadar traveler noted "The diversity of activities kept our kids engaged - from swimming with colorful fish to learning about elephants. The guides made everything fun and educational."
What's the best time of year for families to visit Thailand?
Plan your family trip between November and early April during Thailand's dry season when weather conditions are most predictable. The western Andaman coast including Phuket and Krabi sees its best weather from November through March. For the Gulf coast islands like Koh Samui March to September offers favorable conditions. A TourRadar traveler shares: "We visited in December and had perfect weather for both sightseeing in Bangkok and beach time in Phuket."
How are meals handled on family tours in Thailand?
Tour packages cover daily hotel breakfasts and select lunches during excursions. Family-focused properties like Na Nirand Romantic Boutique Resort in Chiang Mai offer children's menus and can handle special diets including vegetarian and vegan requests. According to a TourRadar review: "The food options were great for our picky eaters - there was always something everyone could enjoy from traditional Thai dishes to western options."
What types of accommodation can families expect in Thailand?
Accommodations range from mid-range to luxury properties suited for families. The Movenpick Bangkok Sukhumvit 15 provides family rooms and children's activities while Kata Sea Breeze Resort in Phuket features multiple swimming pools and room configurations for groups. As mentioned by a TourRadar traveler: "The hotels were perfect for families - spacious rooms great pools and the staff was so accommodating with our children."
What's the recommended age range for family tours in Thailand?
Tour operators welcome children starting at age 5 with some companies like Realistic Asia accepting toddlers as young as 1 year. Activities adapt to different age groups and energy levels. Properties such as Bangkok Century Park Hotel and Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa offer dedicated family spaces. A TourRadar traveler noted: "We had a the most wonderful time on this trip. With all the organisation done for you you can just sit back and enjoy the ride!"
How much free time is typically included in family tours?
The schedule provides a mix of guided experiences and independent exploration with 2-3 unstructured days in beach destinations like Phuket or Koh Samui. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The tour had perfect pacing with enough scheduled activities to keep the kids engaged but also free time for swimming and relaxing."
