What people love about Croatia And Slovenia Tours
- Budapest to Split Group Rail Tour (18-35)
I’ve had the best two weeks on the Eastern European/Balkans tour with David. From initially booking with the company, I had a great help from Richard. He answered all my questions and eased my nerves as it was my first time backpacking as well as staying in hostels. They have honestly been brilliant and I haven’t been nervous at all. I felt very welcomed into the group when I started my tour and have loved the freedom to explore different countries. David has been great with organising activities and making sure the group is happy as well as giving advice on places to visit in your free time. He’s also great at picking out bars! The places that I’ve been have been amazing. After this trip, I’m sure to book another one soon as I’ve had the best time ever!

Had a great time in Venice, Slovenia, and Croatia. My guides were excellent!
- Scenic Slovenia & Croatia
If you are at all confident in independent travel then you will probably find this tour a little frustrating. However, if you liked to be guided every step of the way then this tour is for you. You are essentially given a maximum of two hours (usually only 1) of free time at any destination and have someone in your ear at most other times. I also thought it was odd that the bus took scenic rather direct routes to some destinations which meant added time on the bus and less time at key points. This was especially frustrating when combined with getting stuck at borders. The whole tour could do with a day or two added to allow for fulll value. Don't get suckered by the '8 Day tour' label, as it really is only 6 with start and end accommodation. Having said that, the places visited were amazing and our tour leader was fantastic. I was also impressed by the quality of accommodation and included meals (full breakfasts!!).

See all Coach / Bus toursOur routes through Croatia and Slovenia mix coastal highlights with less-visited inland spots. You'll get proper time in Venice to explore the canals before heading to Postojna Cave - the electric train ride through massive limestone chambers is a favorite with our guests. At Lake Bled, local boatmen row traditional wooden pletnas to the tiny island where St. Mary's Church sits quietly above the water. The journey continues through medieval Motovun where you can join experienced truffle hunters and their dogs searching the old forests. Most tours finish in Dubrovnik, but not before exploring Plitvice Lakes where wooden boardwalks lead you between crystal-clear pools connected by waterfalls.

See all Fully Guided toursThese cultural journeys through Croatia and Slovenia weave together popular highlights with quiet corners that reveal authentic daily life. Beginning in Budapest's creative Jewish quarter, travelers dive into the city's heritage before moving to Slovenia, where expert local guides share stories at Lake Bled's island church and Ljubljana's baroque architecture. In Croatia, the experience becomes hands-on with activities like hunting for truffles alongside specialists and their dogs near the medieval town of Motovun, plus village cooking workshops in Zrnovo, where home cooks pass down the art of making traditional makaruni pasta. Wine lovers enjoy intimate tastings at family-run estates in Slovenia's Goriška Hills, sampling Rebula varieties and exploring historic cellars across Istria. Our tour guests often mention how well these trips balance structured activities, such as exploring Split's Diocletian's Palace or Zagreb's urban art, with plenty of independent time to find hidden cafes and local spots. Small groups make genuine community connections possible, from joining oyster farmers along Lim Bay to watching traditional pletna boat crafting at Lake Bled. While many tours conclude in Dubrovnik, the journey first winds through wooden walkways at Plitvice Lakes and visits coastal settlements where Venetian buildings speak of rich maritime traditions.
