What people love about touring Iguazu/Iguassu Falls solo
- Iguazu Falls on a Shoestring (3N)
A really fantastic tour of Iguazu falls! Right from the start the team were quick to answer questions and help, a big thanks rob Ignacio for everything! On arrival everything was well planned, the tours were interesting and well run with lots of time to explore, tour guides (two guides, one for Argentina and one for Brazil) were friendly and knowledgeable. The tour made entry and navigation through immigration a breeze! Would definitely recommend
- From Buenos Aires to Rio (11 Nights)
The tour itself was well organized and put together but I had to add a lot of optional extras along with hotel upgrades (as opposed to hostels) to fill up my free days and also to make this worth my while and see lots of different things while I was down there. I’m also glad that I flew from Iguazu to Rio instead of the overnight bus because 19 hours from Buenos Aires to Iguazu on a bus was too much. The company advertises a low price for the tour for this reason. The fees to enter Iguazu national parks are also not included.
- Argentina - Salta, Iguazu & Buenos Aires or Viceversa - 8 days
Argentina is such a beautiful country! The people are so friendly. I traveled alone and not a time when I didn't feel safe. The person (Gonzalo) that I was contact with on WhatsApp was very, very helpful. I had to make changes in my flight because of airline strike. I had to stay at the airport for 24 hours! Gonzalo tried to find me accommodation but because of timing and other details, it made more sense for me to sleep at the airport. Many people did so I felt safe. This is not one of those tours where I was with the same people everyday. Although, the travelers that I met for each tours were very friendly that I never felt alone. Iguazu falls is such a spectacular view! I'm glad this tour afforded me to experience it on both the Argentina and Brazil side. The trip to Salta was nice. The valleys and rock formations are beautiful. I'm so glad I was happy to go on this tour!
What our customers ask about Iguazu/Iguassu Falls Tours for Solo Travelers
How many days should I spend at Iguazu Falls as a solo traveler?
Two to three days provide the right amount of time to explore both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of Iguazu Falls. A typical visitor spends one full day on each side, taking in the distinct perspectives and walking trails. The natural wonder deserves this timeframe to fully appreciate its 275 separate waterfalls and surrounding rainforest. Hotel options like the Loi Suites in Puerto Iguazu serve as convenient bases for daily excursions.
Is it safe to travel alone to Iguazu Falls?
Solo travelers routinely visit Iguazu Falls without incident. The main tourist areas are well-patrolled and organized tours provide door-to-door transportation from airports and hotels. Professional guides lead groups through designated walking trails and viewing platforms, while park rangers maintain a visible presence throughout both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides.
What's the typical accommodation like at Iguazu Falls?
Hotels near Iguazu Falls range from comfortable three-star properties to upscale resorts. The Mérit Iguazú Hotel represents a standard option, offering clean rooms with air conditioning and included breakfast. Most properties sit within a 15-minute drive of the park entrances and provide pool facilities to cool off after a day of exploring. Higher-end choices feature spa services and rainforest views.
Are guided tours necessary or can I explore independently?
While the falls can be visited independently, guided tours enhance the experience through expert knowledge of viewing spots and trail conditions. Local guides share insights about the falls' geological history and the surrounding Atlantic rainforest ecosystem. They also help navigate between the Brazilian and Argentine sides, handling logistics and border crossings.
What should I pack for a trip to Iguazu Falls?
Pack lightweight, quick-dry clothing and sturdy walking shoes for the extensive trail network. Bring a rain jacket or poncho for the spray near Devil's Throat, plus sun protection and insect repellent for subtropical conditions. A waterproof camera case proves useful on boat rides, while a small daypack carries essentials during excursions.
What additional costs should I budget for at Iguazu Falls?
Park entrance fees cost $20-30 per person for each side (Brazilian and Argentine). Optional boat rides run $50-70, while meals outside hotels average $15-25 per person. Local transport between towns costs $5-10 per ride. Most hotels include breakfast, but lunch and dinner require separate budgeting.
