What people love about Egypt And Jordan Tours
- Pyramids, Petra, Promised Land - 19 Days
We arrived in Cairo and were met by out On The Go rep who briskly got us through Customs and into our transport to the hotel, so we were off to a good start. Next morning was our trip briefing with our guide, Egyptologist Momo. He promised a great experience in Egypt and he was certainly correct. He provided informative and clear explanations to all of the landmarks that we visited which gave a real insight into the history and culture of Egypt. We have travelled on several tours of this kind but Momo was our best guide. He often went out of his way to assist us in buying souvenirs at the best prices and providing snacks and lunches which weren't part of our package. Momo's personality and enthusiasm really helped our group of 32 people to really click and form some lasting friendships. He is a great ambassador for Egypt and anyone lucky enough to have him as a guide on their tour is very fortunate. Leigh & Karyn McC

See all Coach / Bus toursOur top explorer tour packs lots into 19 days across three ancient lands. It kicks off at the pyramids before you hop aboard a traditional felucca to sail the Nile and visit small islands most tourists miss. You'll camp under the stars in Wadi Rum after a 4x4 desert drive and take a dip in the Dead Sea too. Our travelers love how it mixes the big sites with genuine local experiences. One pair told us their guide Momo helped them haggle in markets and set up casual meetups with locals that weren't even on the schedule. If you're more into Egyptian archaeology, we've got another great option that includes Red Sea snorkeling and beach time in Hurghada. These tours run with 12-32 people - just right for making friends while keeping the group manageable at historic sites.

Ten days really opens up both countries nicely. We've got several great routes that kick off in Amman, taking in Jordan's religious sites at Mount Nebo and Bethany's baptism location before heading into the desert landscape. You get full days exploring Petra and Wadi Rum, with time for camel rides and watching the desert sunset color those red rocks. Once in Egypt, you'll see the pyramids, dive into the Egyptian Museum and usually walk through Islamic Cairo in the evening light. Our travelers really like how these trips mix guided tours with free time to do their own thing. It's perfect if you want to properly get to know both countries without rushing around too much.

After Cairo's treasures, you'll spend 3-4 nights cruising the Nile, stopping at temples like Philae, Kom Ombo and also Karnak. Jordan gives you proper time in Petra and Wadi Rum, while Jerusalem adds key religious sites to the mix. Our guests love having different local guides in each country - they know their areas inside out and share great local knowledge. Some trips include nice extras like traditional felucca boat rides or dinner with local families. If you're into history or just prefer taking things at an easier pace with time to really understand each place, these longer trips work really well.

Demographics
Our Egypt and Jordan tours really suit solo travelers, with options that make independent exploration easy and social. The Jordan and Egypt Budget Tour delivers great experiences without the high price tag - you'll explore Petra's secret spots, sleep under stars in Wadi Rum and float in the Dead Sea with other independent travelers. Many choose the Nile cruise option which naturally brings people together while giving everyone their own space to recharge. Our solo guests often mention how the guides help them navigate local shopping, arrange group meals and create easy ways for everyone to connect. The desert portions especially tend to bring groups together through shared experiences and traditional dinners.
For couples looking to mix romance with discovery, our fuller tours blend luxury touches with real local experiences. The Pyramids and Petra tour gets this balance just right - you'll have dinner by candlelight at Petra, take private sunset drives in the desert and cruise the Nile in style. Another great choice starts with Jordan's main sites before moving on to Egypt's ancient treasures, staying at hotels picked for their views and special touches. Couples particularly enjoy the Dead Sea spa treatments and optional balloon flights above Luxor. The tour schedule gives you enough together time between the guided visits to explore at your own pace.
Active travelers in their 20s and 30s tend to pick our packed itineraries that keep moving. The Contrasts of Jordan and Essences of Egypt tour delivers with hikes through Wadi Rum, temple visits and authentic city experiences like exploring Khan el-Khalili bazaar. Another favorite mixes Red Sea snorkeling, sleeping under desert stars and sailing the Nile on traditional felucca boats. Our younger travelers tell us they love how these tours combine cultural deep-dives with outdoor activities, and they often become friends with their group during desert camps and shared evening meals.
Tours that take their time while covering all the important sites work best for our senior travelers. The 19-day Pyramids, Petra and Promised Land tour lets you really settle into places like the Valley of the Kings and Jerusalem's historic quarters without rushing. Another excellent option includes a luxury Nile cruise where you unpack once and watch Egypt's riverside scenes drift past from your private balcony. Our experienced travelers appreciate how guides adjust the walking speed and arrange comfortable transport between locations. Many seniors also like having free afternoons to explore independently or relax at our carefully selected hotels.
Families traveling through Egypt and Jordan really connect with tours that mix learning and active fun. The Classical Jerusalem and Jordan tour works beautifully - kids get excited about racing through Wadi Rum in 4x4s and figuring out how the Nabateans managed water in Petra. Another solid option combines Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and includes a relaxing Nile cruise between site visits. Our family travelers tell us their children love riding camels, cooling off with swimming breaks and trying their hand at writing hieroglyphics. The desert camping portions turn out to be family favorites too, where kids experience real Bedouin culture while parents appreciate that we've taken care of all the comfort details.

The fall weather in October and November makes our tours really special, especially the Nile cruise option on the M/S Concerto. You'll get a private balcony to watch local farmers working along the riverbanks between temple visits. A lot of our customers pick the expanded route that adds Istanbul and Cappadocia to Egypt and Jordan - there's nothing quite like floating over Cappadocia's rock formations at sunrise before heading south to see the pyramids. The desert camping in Wadi Rum works perfectly in autumn; the temperatures let you really enjoy the camel rides, stargazing and also the 4x4 rides through the dunes. For those interested in religious history, we've got a route from Mount Sinai through Jordan's biblical sites and finally Jerusalem - the mild weather makes all the walking sections much more comfortable.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
For winter travelers, our Egypt and Jordan combinations really shine from December through February. Our most comprehensive tour covers 19 days across both countries and goes all the way to Israel. Winter visitors tell us they appreciate the cooler temperatures for exploring Luxor's Valley of the Kings and wandering through Petra's narrow canyons. Several of our customers specifically mention guide Momo, who helps them get to sites early before the crowds and heat build up. Another excellent winter option focuses purely on Jordan and Cairo - you'll spend more time at each location and get to float in the Dead Sea when the water temperature is perfect. The winter tours include a mix of accommodation from luxury Cairo hotels to authentic Bedouin camps in Wadi Rum, with most travelers loving how they can experience both worlds.
