- LPLiz· October 26th, 2023The parts of our Tour we were provided were excellent. The service provided in the aftermath of the cancelation of our Israel and Bethlehem tours and flights homes was not helpful. On The Go Tours commented on this reviewThank you for taking the time to post your feedback.Trip date: October 2023
- ALAllison· September 26th, 2023Great value for all the amazing things we saw. Momo was absolutely amazing. He really enhanced our enjoyment of the experience in Egypt. I can't rate him high enough. "G" was also an amazing guide in Jordan. He was very caring of his group and very helpful. His insight was also helpful to our enjoyment of the trip. Israel was another story. Mahaer (sp) was not a good guide. He dropped us off at our hotel and said he'd see us in the morning. Leaving us with no explanation other than to go to Old Town. It was Rosh Hashanah, which was also problematic, so that on our free time we couldn't see anything since everything was closed. Our driver was on his cell phone, glancing down at the phone off the road (I have pictures). He provided minimal explanation and had to be prompted by others in our group to explain. Please reconsider using him again. This really detracted from our enjoyment of Israel. A good guide is everything. Also, consider rearranging tour days (arrivals) on Saturdays or during holidays. We feel like we missed so much because most stuff was closed. Thank you for a great time in Egypt and Jordan, not so much in Israel. Also the treatment of animals in Egypt was very disheartening. There has to be a way to put pressure on the Egyptian government to do something about this. It was 113 degrees and horses were excessively worked with no food or water to be seen. Stray dogs/cats everywhere. We were stealing rolls from breakfast to feed them because we felt so bad about the situation.Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewThank you kindly for the comprehensive feedback, and please rest assured that your comments have been passed to the pertinent parties for review as we always aim to ensure a positive experience on tour.Trip date: September 2023
- CSCarmel· May 23rd, 2023I thoroughly enjoyed Egypt. The guide was excellent and went out of his way to enhance our visit. Jordan was equally spoilt by one of the worse guides I have ever encountered (I have e-mailed a separate of this section of the tour) Halawani in Israel was great. The only bit of Israel I did not enjoy was the choice of hotel in Tel Aviv (B14). This was more like a backpackers establishment than even a 2-3 star hotel. The rooms were boxy with little or no amenities, no lounge. go next door for meals, fine if I had picked a totally budget tour but not for this tour.Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewWe are so pleased you enjoyed your time in Egypt and have passed your feedback from Israel to our Product Team as we always aim to ensure a positive experience throughout.Trip date: April 2023

- WVWendy· November 24th, 2022The itinerary was excellent, I was very happy with where we went and what we saw and did. The guides we had were friendly and knowledgeable but very motivated to get their $8 USD per day tip as it was mentioned a few times that this was not included in the tip kitty for porters and other guides. All went pretty well up until after being on the felucca for two days that we were told has properly functioning showers, running water and proper flushing toilets that is. There was no functioning showers at any time. Flushing toilets and running water was non-existent for at least 85-90% of the time. The 'captain' always seemed surprised at the lack of water each time he came along in the support boat and would turn on the generator to pump more water from the Nile. However, with only one toilet on the felucca to 19 in the group plus 1 guide water ran out very quickly. Same in the 2 toilets on the support boat. Staff were seen washing dishes directly in the Nile (unbeknownst to the majority of us) which were then provided to us still damp. Can you guess all of this was a recipe for disaster? Everyone started coming down with gastro which made the toilets even more toxic - used paper had to be put in a basket as it's not allowed to be flushed all adding to the highly unhealthy situation and with no running water to wash hands or to flush the quickly filling toilet it really was terrible. Of course we all had bottled water but that didn't save 15 out of 19 becoming very ill. I ended up in hospital as the gastro was so severe I very quickly became dehydrated despite Imodium and electrolytes. Because of that I collapsed breaking a bone in my foot requiring a cast and spelled the end of my journey - I had to stay an extra week in Hurghada, Egypt after the group had continued on to Jordan and Israel. I am yet to hear if I will receive a refund or credit for those lost days. Some people in the group were on round 2 of gastro having just recovered from the filthy conditions on the '5 Star' overnight train from Cairo to Aswan. That was incredibly dirty too. It could have been quite ok if it was cleaned. The bathroom, one to each carriage of 10 sleeper rooms, was an open hole to the tracks with flushing mechanism that weren't strong enough to flush everything out. The bathroom itself was maybe never cleaned there was so much dirt on the floors and the sink and mirror were the same. As was the window in my cabin that was so dirty you couldn't see through it - I discovered the thick dirt was on the inside!! I spilled a little black tea on the tray between the bottom bunk seats and when I wiped it with a tissue much to my horror the original colour of the tray came through and the tissue had a thick sludge of dirt on it like mud. Completely unhygienic by anyone's standards so I didn't even eat the dinner and breakfast I was presented with apart from the juice box. When my bottom bunk was made up, the blanket was clearly not clean and was crusty in places - the only saving grace was that the sheets and pillowcase looked clean but I didn't dare look under them! Unfortunately I cannot comment on Petra (Jordan) and Israel but others in the group said both were amazing and were much cleaner than Egypt. Due to the illness I missed out on lots in Egypt; hot air ballooning over Luxor, seeing The Valley of The Kings, snorkelling and swimming in the Red Sea and partaking of the other water sport opportunities in Hurghada. This was so disappointing!! The hotels were all in reasonably good condition. To be called 5 star is a stretch for some hotels as the fittings and décor is old and tired. Generally speaking they were clean and catered well to the tourist market. Staff were always friendly and helful. Hotel food was ok but not enough local dishes (they seem to cater too much to tourists by having pizza, burgers, chips etc etc featuring on menus), breakfast choices were usually plentiful and good quality. Loved the pyramids, Abu Simbel, Karnak Temple, the Phillae Temple etc they are amazing sites and sights to see. We had a fun group that gelled really well and quickly and Facebook friends were made. Overall not a high rating from me because of the hygiene factor - I think 'On the Go Tours' ought to be much more conscious of the risk they are putting their travellers in rather than trying to lower our expectations by saying 4-5 star standards are not the same and we should not expect too much. Remaining healthy on tour (when taking my own appropriate precautions eg sanitiser, masks etc) and being put into hygienic and not filthy situations is not too much to expect and not an unrealistic standard for On The Go Tours to demand from the hotels, boats and trains they put their travellers on!Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewWe appreciate your feedback and have passed your comments to our product team for review as we always aim to ensure a positive experience across the board and are sorry to have fallen short of expectations in this instance.Trip date: November 2022
- JVJoelle· October 31st, 2022Egypt was great. Jordan was exhausting but also good. Israel was not in your heart and that was obvious. Arriving at on sabbath was not good at all. Our guide left us on our once we arrived at our hotel ( where we could not check in). We were on our own. Next day we saw the old city. We had already been there. On our own. We could have gone to the Dead Sea in Israel. It would have given us an extra day in Israel and we would not have gone through the border on Sabbath. Overall a good trip but the Israel tour can use improvement. Re extras: we felt we had paid for the tour. There were a lot of extra payments for tipping and also side excursions. Worth it but we spent more than intendedShow moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewThank you so much for posting your feedback and suggestions!Trip date: October 2022
- Bill· November 3rd, 2021We had originally planned to do a trip to Israel and an add-on to the Pyramids to Petra tour, which I have reviewed separately. Covid entry quarantine requirements precluded that, so we substituted a private tour to Istanbul for 4 nights. That proved to be a good choice and we thoroughly enjoyed getting a taster of Turkey, enough so that we are considering returning for a much longer visit. As with the rest of our tours, On the Go delivered exactly what they promised, and it all worked very smoothly. Their on-site co-ordinator, Cenzig, was very helpful, which including him having to arrange for our PCR testing at a specific time before our departure. We had two days of planned tours with two local contract operators. Reggie (sp?) and Ali were both very knowledgeable and gave us excellent tours. As we think about it, there were two things we would have done differently. We ended up with one full down day at the conclusion. It would have been nice to have a half-day activity as an option on that day, even if we had to go find it ourselves. Some guidance in that area would have been appreciated. And, sadly, the Blue Mosque is under renovation until next year, so there really isn't anything to see there. While it is an icon of the city, perhaps some other stop as an option would be a good idea until it re-opens. All-in-all, a great experience.Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewThank you so much for the positive review! - AEmily Wright· January 17th, 2020To whom it may concern, I have just returned from the Pyramids, Petra and Promised Land tour with On The Go and wanted to let you know that I had an amazing experience! The part which stood out most for me was the Egypt section of the tour with MoMo. It was fun, well organised and very informative. I have been interested in Ancient Egypt since I was a small girl, so to experience Egypt with someone as qualified and so obviously passionate about his job as MoMo made this the best vacation I have taken to date. I left Egypt loving the country more than I had before arriving, with the ability to recognise for myself styles of Ancient Egyptian art, Pharonic vs Greek/Roman temples and able to identify a plethora of different Pharaohs and Gods. MoMo was punctual and always happy to answer questions. He immediately negated any concerns about safety within the group and was always conscious of our individual locations at the sights. I was particularly impressed one morning on the way to Abu Simbel (which I have wanted to see since I was 7 years old!) when our bus broke down. After a two hour wait, he decided that instead of cutting time short at the sight, that he would organise for us to go the next day instead (despite meaning he would have to get up at 3am again!). This was the highlight of the tour for me! I want to say a big thank you to MoMo for helping me fulfil a lifelong dream and giving me an experience I will never forget!Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewMany thanks for your feedback!Trip date: April 2019Review collected by On The Go Tours
- ANicholas John Grigg· January 17th, 2020This trip was probably one of the best trips I have ever taken and the highlight was probably Sherref our wonderful tour guide! He not only took care of all of our needs, answered our numerous questions so patiently but was sooo knowledgeable and I feel that I came away knowing so much more about the ancient Egyptians which I have been so fascinated about as a little child.please do award him with the award as he is such an asset to your company, is so passionate about his country and is such an adaptable human being that I am sure that tour guides like him are few and far between. I think most of my group will share the same sentiment with many saying that he is the best guide that they have ever had in any of their travels. I am so impressed by your company and the type of people who go on their adventures with you. as a busy attorney I have zero time to plan a trip and I feel that absolutely everything was taken care of and all I had to do was show up on time :) Iwill most definitely be travelling with your company again and hope to do China in the near future. Two thumbs up and thank you for making my travels to the middle east, fun, value for money and making sure I came back home safely :)Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewThank you kindly for your feedback!Trip date: December 2018Review collected by On The Go Tours
