What people love about Aegean Tours
- 8 Days Discover Turkey Tour *Best Highlights
Our experience with the City of Sultans tour package was excellent! We booked a 8 day tour to Istanbul, Izmir/Ephesus, Pamukkale, and Cappadocia. The guides at each location were great. The transportation was always on time, both at the airports and at the hotels, and the guides were well prepared. Everything ran very smoothly, which we all really appreciated. The guides were knowledgeable, and they all tried to ensure that we could see what we wanted to see in the way that we wanted. Two of the people on our tour took a lot of pictures, and the guides patiently waited for them and showed them the best places to take photographs. I truly felt that they all wanted us to have the best experience possible. I would absolutely recommend the City of Sultans to my friends, and if I tour Turkey again, I would use them again!
- 4 Days - Cappadocia, Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour from/to Istanbul
It was great!! It felt like a private tour starting from the Istanbul up to dropping back to the hotel in Istanbul!!! Felt safe. Highly recommend this tour. Perfect for my 1week stay in Turkey.
- Western Turkey Explorer - 6 Days
Emre the guide and Faruk the driver were absolutely wonderful. Emre’s knowledge of Turkish history past and present was very informative. The attention to detail placed this tour above others I have taken. I would highly recommend them.
Travel Aegean your way
A traditional gulet sailing trip along Turkey's Turquoise Coast lets you discover hidden coves and ancient sites that larger ships can't reach. Most routes run between Fethiye and Bodrum over 8 days, taking in spots like Cleopatra's Sunken Bath, quiet Tarzan Bay and also the fascinating ruins at Kaunos. Our customers particularly enjoy exploring Gocek's pine-covered islands, relaxing on Ekincik's pebbly beaches and taking refreshing dips at crystal-clear spots like Merdivenli Cove. The trips work well because they mix active moments - like snorkeling or hiking to ruins - with peaceful evenings anchored in secluded bays where the crew serves fresh local dishes right on deck.
See all Sailing toursOur Greek island explorer tours give you proper time to really understand the Cyclades, starting right in Athens before moving to Paros. The hundred-doored Ekatontapiliani church there is fascinating, and you'll meet local women who share real stories about life on the islands. In Naxos, our travelers particularly enjoy getting their hands dirty in cooking classes using fresh ingredients from organic gardens - it's a great way to learn about how the island maintains its unique self-sufficient farming. The journey winds down in Santorini where you'll walk the caldera trails and visit local family wineries, learning how they work with the volcanic soil to create their distinct varieties.

"Very organized and comfortable tour. More history and information about the various places we visited would have made the experience more intimate and enjoyable. The tour guides need to be a bit more engaging and passionate about sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with visitors. Meals were basic. Lodging was good. Transportation was comfortable and on time.

Discover Aegean tours for every budget
The 5-day Aegean tours offer solid value while covering the main highlights. You'll explore Cappadocia's open-air museums, venture into underground cities and walk through Ephesus' Roman ruins. Our travelers particularly like how we handle the logistics - the domestic flights work smoothly and the hotels serve as good bases for daily exploring. The guides receive excellent feedback, especially for bringing ancient sites to life at places like the House of Virgin Mary and Library of Celcius. While these budget tours sometimes include stops at ceramic and carpet shops, many guests find better deals by exploring local markets during their free time.

25 tours in AegeanPrivate Aegean tours really let you set the pace and get personal attention. The 3-day trips from Istanbul give you quality time at Ephesus, Pamukkale and also Pergamon with your own guide. One of our guides, Ibrahim, gets constant praise from travelers for sharing fascinating local stories and historical details along the way. The routes connect ancient sites like the Asklepion healing center with natural sites like Pamukkale's white calcium terraces in a way that makes sense. For a deeper dive, the 9-day option adds more time in Istanbul's historical quarter and Cappadocia's valley landscapes. The hotels can be mixed quality, but travelers consistently mention how smooth the transfers are and how much they learn from their knowledgeable guides.
Top Aegean travel itineraries to fit your plans
Our 3-day Aegean tours zero in on the Ephesus-Pamukkale circuit, which has become a real favorite. Travelers spend full days walking the marble streets of ancient Ephesus, and they often tell us how much they love seeing the Library of Celsus and that massive Roman theater up close. The route takes you through the House of Virgin Mary and St. John's Basilica in Selçuk too. Over at Pamukkale, you get time to wander those white calcium terraces and check out Hierapolis ruins - plus you can take a dip in the thermal pools if you like. Some routes add in Pergamon's Acropolis and the old medical center at Asklepion. Our customers keep mentioning how much they appreciate our guides mixing solid historical facts with engaging stories that make these ancient places feel real and relevant.

Seven days gives you the right amount of time to really get to know both the coast and inland sites. Popular week-long trips kick off in Istanbul at the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia before heading to the war memorials at Gallipoli. You'll see Homer's Troy on the way to Kusadasi, which works perfectly as a base for exploring Ephesus. Our travelers say they love having enough time to properly take in details like the public baths, temples and also hidden corners. Most tours finish up at Pamukkale's thermal pools where you can walk those travertine terraces and explore Hierapolis ruins. Some routes focus on early Christian sites like Philadelphia, Sardis and also Thyatira - they're ideal if you're interested in the Seven Churches of Revelation.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Istanbul, Cappadocia, Sirince, Ephesus Archaeological Museum, Izmir
The 10-day complete Aegean tour has become one of our most popular options. You get three full days in Istanbul to see the major sites plus experience local spots like the Spice Market and take that Bosphorus boat trip. Then it's Cappadocia for a good stretch exploring the open-air museums, going down into underground cities and walking through the valleys. The final part gives you proper time at Ephesus and Pamukkale - our customers often mention how much they appreciate not having to rush these sites. Recent travelers praise how smoothly the domestic flights and transfers work, though some say they'd like more free time built into the schedule. First-time visitors especially like this longer option since it covers all the key places while giving you time to really understand each spot.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Istanbul, Cappadocia, Kusadasi, Selcuk, Pamukkale
Demographics
Our solo travelers really connect with a 4-day tour from Kusadasi that lets them take in the history at their own speed. They tell us having a private guide at Ephesus makes all the difference - it becomes more of a conversation than a lecture. There's also this excellent 5-day route through Istanbul and Cappadocia where the guides go out of their way to bring everyone together, especially during group dinners and walks among the fairy chimneys. You'll find the boutique hotels work perfectly as social spaces, with many travelers naturally striking up friendships over breakfast before heading out to explore ancient sites and small villages together.
The 6-day Western Turkey tour hits just the right notes for couples, mixing cultural visits with plenty of private moments. Many pairs love how we schedule guided tours of Hagia Sophia in the mornings, leaving afternoons free to get lost together in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar. In Cappadocia, the cave hotels add something special - imagine sharing a sunrise balloon flight over the valleys and then settling in for a private wine tasting. For those drawn to the coast, our 4-day tours include relaxed evenings in Kusadasi after exploring Ephesus, with time for seaside dinners and walks along the harbor as the sun sets.
The 8-day sailing trips along Turkey's coast really click with young adults - you're moving between hidden coves for swimming stops while checking out ancient ruins like Kleopatra Hamam. Living on traditional gulet boats makes it easy to bond with other travelers as you explore secluded beaches and historical sites. The 5-day Churches of Revelation tour might sound traditional but younger travelers love it; they get deep historical context plus authentic local experiences in places like Sardis and Philadelphia, with free evenings to discover Izmir's modern side and nightlife.
The 9-day Elegance of Turkey tour works perfectly for our senior travelers - you'll spend two nights in most stops and there's no rushing around early mornings. The pace lets you properly appreciate places like Ephesus and Pamukkale without feeling hurried. Many choose the 5-day Biblical route through the Seven Churches too; the guides really know their history both ancient and modern, and we pick hotels close to the historical sites. You'll travel in comfortable air-conditioned vehicles and there are regular breaks during walking tours.
Based on customer feedback, both tour companies have strengths worth considering. Fez Travel gets solid reviews for their tour planning and value - our travelers particularly liked guides Burak, Dilek and also Ulas who brought real expertise to the experience.
City of Sultans also delivers consistently good service, with Ozgur earning special mentions from many guests for being quick to respond and going the extra mile to make trips work smoothly.
That said, there are a few things to note - some travelers mentioned too many shopping stops getting built into certain routes. A handful of more experienced travelers felt they could have arranged similar experiences on their own for less money, especially if they were comfortable navigating independently.
The tour guide quality seems to be a strong point for both companies, which makes sense as local expertise can really shape how much you get out of exploring a new place. The shopping stops are worth asking about when booking though, so you can understand exactly what's included in your specific itinerary.
For first-time visitors to the region, the structured support these companies provide could be really valuable. But if you're an experienced traveler who enjoys planning, you might want to weigh the convenience against the cost.
