What people love about Cappadocia Tours
- Istanbul - Ankara - Cappadocia | 6 Days with 1 flight
The food, transportation was perfect. Overall it was a great tour.
- 7 Days Best of Istanbul and Best of Cappadocia Package
We are back home with wonderful memories of out trip to Istanbul and Cappadocia. Thanks to your company for the professional service and flexibility. We are very grateful for the accomodation upgrade in Cappadocia to the Fresco Cave Suites which was lovely. I must admit that I have better appreciation for the historical sites in istanbul after our guide, Eren Bolek, thoroughly explained adding a bit of humor so as not to bore us. He was also a great shopping companion as he guided us to selected shops that offered better items at bargain prices and waited for us patiently to complete our purchase. From our accomodations, the restaurants we dined in, the vehicle that transported us, the tour sights and ofcourse our knowledgeable and friendly guide-Eren, everything surpassed our expectations. Our guides in Cappadocia- Nila and Mehmet were also knowledgeable, articulate and fun. Will definitely recommend your company to friends looking for new travel destinations.
- Istanbul and Cappadocia 5 Days with 2 flights (Small Group)
We had wonderful guides, couldn't recommend them more highly, and the driver in Cappadocia was also wonderful. Most of the other drivers were quite rude and ignorant though they drive well. Even with a language barrier, it is good manners to smile and boys a greeting rather than just ignore

Our explorer tours really get to the heart of Cappadocia, giving you time to properly discover what makes this region special. The three-day packages take you straight to local treasures like Goreme Museum's old frescoes and the curious rock formations in Devrent Valley that look just like natural sculptures. What our travelers love most are the genuine local experiences - they get to make pottery with Avanos artisans and stay in small family-run cave hotels with only 10 rooms, which feels so much more authentic. If you've got an extra day, the four-day option starts in Istanbul where you can explore the Hagia Sophia and wander through the Grand Bazaar before heading to Cappadocia. The local guides really make these tours come alive - they know everything from ancient Hittite stories to modern Turkish life, and you'll get a nice mix of guided tours and free time to explore on your own.

"Our 7-day tour of Istanbul and Cappadocia was an unforgettable experience! The journey started in Istanbul, where we explored the stunning Hagia Sophia, the vibrant Grand Bazaar, and the magnificent Topkapi Palace. Each day was filled with fascinating history, incredible architecture, and delicious food. The highlight of Istanbul was a boat ride along the Bosphorus, offering breathtaking views of the city’s skyline. Afterward, we traveled to Cappadocia, where the landscape felt almost otherworldly. The hot air balloon ride at sunrise over the fairy chimneys was absolutely magical, and the cave dwellings and ancient rock formations were truly unique. Our guides were knowledgeable and made the trip even more enjoyable with insightful stories and tips. Overall, the tour was well-organized, with plenty of time to explore each destination at a relaxed pace. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the rich culture and natural beauty of Turkey in one trip! Special thanks to Ozgur and Yagiz from City of Sultans for all of their assistance in enabling this beautiful trip!

"Shafaq was a great tour guide, informative, organised and personable with a great attitude. The group got on well and the range of activities was amazing from hot air ballooning in Capadocia to boat days and visiting carpet shops. It was a great experience and highly recommend, especially to those like me that had never visited Turkey before, and wanted to uncover a lot of what the country has to offer in two weeks.

Best places to start your Cappadocia tour
Most people get to Cappadocia through Istanbul, which is where 49 of our tours begin. We also have 9 tours that start right in Cappadocia and 6 from Kayseri nearby, plus some options from smaller spots like Goreme and Cavusin. Book about 3 months out (specifically 85 days) to get the spots you want - this is especially true for those sunrise balloon rides and popular cave hotels that fill up fast. Spring and fall are really the sweet spots for visiting; March through May or September through November give you perfect weather for exploring outdoors. Our travelers typically spend 3-4 days here, which gives enough time to see everything and handle any weather delays for balloon flights. You can add local pottery workshops in Avanos or try traditional crafts and cooking demonstrations to round out your visit. Tours run in English, Spanish and French so you'll get all the historical and cultural details that make this place so unique.

The 3-day Cappadocia tours hit a sweet spot for value and practical sightseeing. Flying in from Istanbul, you'll stay in authentic cave hotels while visiting the main highlights - Goreme's Open Air Museum, the rock formations of Devrent Valley and also the fairy chimneys at Pasabag. Our travelers often tell us they particularly enjoy watching local pottery making in Avanos and getting deep into the underground cities. These tours come with local lunches and guides who really bring the history to life. What's nice is the flexibility - you can add extras like hot air ballooning or spend more time walking through the valleys if that's your thing.
The Ottoman Odyssey really shows what luxury travel in Cappadocia can be - it's a 15-day journey that takes you from Istanbul's grand palaces to Cappadocia's most remarkable spots. You'll rest in carefully picked cave suites, and the private guides take you to quieter, less touristy areas. The extras make all the difference here - private transfers everywhere, special access to viewpoints and guides who adjust everything to match your interests. Top Cappadocia travel itineraries to fit your plans
The 3-day Cappadocia tours strike a perfect balance - getting you straight into the action with an afternoon flight from Istanbul and diving into the incredible Goreme Open Air Museum's fairy chimneys. Over the next couple of days, you'll mix active exploring with hands-on cultural experiences like pottery making in Avanos and wandering the twisting paths of Red Valley. One real highlight is heading deep into Kaymakli or Derinkuyu's underground cities, where you can explore eight levels down into these ancient Christian hideaways. Many of our travelers opt for the early morning hot air balloon flight on day two, and our guides are really good about adjusting the day's schedule around this. The authentic cave hotels where you'll stay consistently come up as a favorite part of the experience in customer feedback.

See all toursOur 7-day tours give you the best of both worlds combining Istanbul and Cappadocia. You'll spend three full days getting to know Istanbul properly - exploring the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and also discovering local spots like the artsy Beyoglu area and Kadikoy's bustling food markets. After flying to Cappadocia, you get four whole days to really dig into what makes this region special. The guides take you beyond just tourist spots - you'll hike about 2 miles through Turkey's longest canyon at Ihlara Valley, discovering hidden churches as you go. What works so well is how the schedule flows - there's time to catch sunset at Rose Valley, explore smaller spots like Avanos and Cavusin, but still have free evenings to wander on your own. The longer stay in cave hotels lets you properly experience what it feels like to live in these ancient rock homes.

Demographics
Our 3-day Cappadocia tours work really well for solo travelers - we've fine-tuned them based on what independent explorers tell us they want. The guides know exactly when to visit key spots like Goreme Open Air Museum before the crowds arrive, and they'll take you to quieter places like Devrent Valley where rock formations look like animals. Solo guests often mention how much they enjoy staying in smaller cave hotels and joining intimate groups for local activities like pottery making in Avanos. Walking through Red Valley and Rose Valley, you can move at your own speed while having an experienced guide close by. Our travelers regularly tell us how the guides help them capture great photos and share local knowledge you won't find in typical travel guides.
Our Istanbul-Cappadocia combo tours running 4-6 days really hit the mark with couples. Starting in Istanbul, you'll take private Bosphorus cruises and wander through the Spice Market before flying to Cappadocia. The cave hotels have a naturally romantic atmosphere, and couples love starting their days with optional balloon rides and champagne breakfasts. There's plenty of time to explore villages like Cavusin and take peaceful walks through Pigeon Valley. What makes these trips work so well is how we balance guided activities with free time - couples can stick with the group or venture out on their own.
The younger crowd tends to go for our active 5-7 day trips that mix proper hiking, cultural experiences and also photo opportunities. You'll tackle more challenging trails through valleys like Ihlara and explore ancient underground cities. Our guides know the perfect spots for sunset photos of the fairy chimneys and can point you toward good evening hangouts. Younger travelers particularly enjoy getting hands-on - trying traditional pottery techniques, discovering hidden cave churches and finding unique spots for social posts. It's the combination of physical activity, cultural depth and also genuine local encounters that keeps these tours interesting.
For our senior travelers, we run thoughtfully paced small group tours over 4-5 days with carefully chosen accommodations. These tours cover all the major sites but move more gently, with regular rest stops and comfortable transport between spots. The guides pay extra attention to mobility needs while making sure everyone experiences key sites like Goreme Open Air Museum and Uchisar Castle viewpoints. Our older guests often tell us they really value having guides who can explain the rich history of Byzantine churches, underground cities and also ancient trade routes. We pick cave hotels that offer easy access and good facilities, keeping everyone comfortable throughout the trip.

Best time to visit Cappadocia
- Spring 2025
Spring hits just right for hiking in Cappadocia, and it shows in our tour bookings. The multi-day walks through Red and Rose Valleys let you catch the wildflowers popping up among the rock formations. Many visitors combine 3-4 days here with time in Istanbul, getting perfect conditions for those early balloon flights when the air is clear and still. Our travelers keep telling us how much they love the cave hotel terraces - you can watch the balloons drift past during breakfast. The 5-day small group tours include nice touches like cooking with locals and visiting family pottery workshops, and our guides have figured out the quiet times at each site as spring visitors start picking up.

- Summer 2025
Summer tours work around the heat with smart scheduling and early starts. We often pair the cool morning Bosphorus cruise in Istanbul with dawn balloon rides once in Cappadocia. The guides know all the shaded spots for walks through Pigeon Valley and the underground cities. Tours usually include evening activities - think sunset at Uchisar Castle and dinner in cave restaurants. The cave hotels provide natural air conditioning, and we build in flexible afternoon breaks when it's hottest. Our travelers really appreciate having guides who can read the conditions and adjust the pace accordingly.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Fall brings mild weather and crystal-clear light that photographers love. The longer walking tours come back into their own, with routes through Ihlara Valley and deeper explorations of the underground cities. Many visitors spend time in Istanbul's grand bazaars before taking 3-4 days in Cappadocia's valleys. Our clients get great shots in places like Pasabag and Devrent Valley where the rocks cast long shadows. Several tours stop at local vineyards during harvest, and balloon flights offer particularly good valley views this time of year. With smaller autumn groups, there's more freedom to discover hidden churches and quiet spots in Goreme Open Air Museum. From what our travelers tell us, Tour Altinkum Travel stands out for their well-planned itineraries and really solid guide team - Erdi and Okan get mentioned a lot in the feedback. The tours run smoothly, though some people mention they'd like more time at certain sites and occasionally there are small hiccups with communication. Dorak Tour has built quite a following among our customers, particularly for their food quality and comfortable places to stay. Their guide Aziz seems to be a real highlight, with deep knowledge that helps bring the destinations to life. City of Sultans responds quickly to questions and does a nice job tailoring trips to what people want. Their guides Eren Bolek and Serdar know their stuff, but keep in mind some of their tours do include stops at shops where you might feel a bit of sales pressure. These shopping stops aren't everyone's favorite part of the experience. Looking across all three companies, the guide quality and organization levels are quite good, though each has their own small quirks to consider. The shopping stops with City of Sultans and occasional timing constraints with Tour Altinkum are worth noting, but they're relatively minor points in what are otherwise well-run operations.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
The winter magic in Cappadocia really shows when snow covers the fairy chimneys. Our small groups spend more time exploring indoor sites during this season - you'll try your hand at pottery making in Avanos and delve into the fascinating underground cities. The guides know exactly how to adjust routes based on the weather, often lingering longer in places like the rock-cut churches of Goreme Open Air Museum and Byzantine ruins. One of our clients told us how special it was seeing Cappadocia under snow after exploring the quiet corners of Istanbul. The cave hotels feel extra welcoming this time of year, plus you'll find great rates and fewer tourists at major sites.
