The Bamba Experience Travel Styles
Self-Guided Adventures
There’s no tour leader to follow around on these adventures, only local guides for each included activity. You will travel independently on a fixed itinerary with prebooked public transportation, activities and accommodation. Take advantage of some free time to go explore at your own pace. Choose to stay overnight in hostels, 3-star, or 4-star hotels.
Small Group Adventure:
These small group adventures include great local guides, all of your transportation, accommodation, and some meals. They give you the chance to move around more easily, step off the beaten path, and immerse yourself in the local culture. You’ll usually share your trip with no more than 12 like-minded travellers, though the average group size is often lower.
Hop-on Hop-off Passes
Travellers looking for a flexible way to travel, with no fixed schedules, can choose from our many open-dated Hop-On Hop-Off Passes all around the world. These passes include all public transportation and handpicked experiences along a set route of your choice with flexible schedules.
All you have to do is decide on the route that suits you best, depending on where you want to go and how much time you want to travel!
Covid-19 Hygiene and Safety Measures
What measures will be taken?
Our Local Team takes the best measures to ensure the safety of both you and staff members. They are constantly up to date with the latest government recommendations.
Based on that, the following precautions have been implemented on the tours:
- All the facilities including hotels and transportation have been sanitized thoroughly.
- Shared spaces and facilities will be sanitized frequently.
- All workers will have their temperature taken before their working shifts.
- All workers are required to wear face masks.
NOTE: We recommend, as well, that you wear a face mask to protect each other. (Use of face masks might be obligatory in some areas or tours.) Upon arrival at the hotels or tours, you will have your temperature taken by the staff and your belongings might also be sanitized before entering the hotel. You will have to keep your distance from other travelers or staff from the hotels or tours.

Questions & Answers
Is accommodation included in the Hop-on Hop-off passes?
For Hop-On Hop-Off Passes, accommodation is not included because we want to give travellers the flexibility to stay as long as they wish in each destination. Bamba provides you with a list of recommended accommodation in each destination so you can choose where to stay.
What transportation is included in the Hop-on Hop Off pass?
Depending on the route or activity, you may be travelling by bus, boat, train, airplane, shuttle van, bicycle, canoe or even on foot… (you get the idea). On the trip of a lifetime, you may find yourself sitting next to a local on a public bus or riding in an air-con shuttle, bumping along in a motorised canoe or going by foot… the possibilities are endless! Whatever the mode of transportation, getting from one point to the next will surely be a memorable experience.
What is a bus tour adventure?
Bus tours offer a cheap way to visit touristic sites. You will usually be travelling with a large group by bus, on a fixed schedule. Most of these tours only include bus transportation and accommodation, entrance fees and activities must be paid locally. These are independent tours accompanied by a tour coordinator who will organise the tour but not guide you.
What to expect on a small group adventure?
These small group adventures include great local guides, all of your transportation, accommodation, and some meals. They give you the chance to move around more easily, step off the beaten path, and immerse yourself in the local culture. You’ll usually share your trip with no more than 12 like-minded travellers, though the average group size is often lower.

What are the Bamba Adventure Trips?
Travellers looking for a structured itinerary, with accommodation included, and a fixed trip length, can choose from our many Adventure Trips all around the world. Adventure Trips are organised trips with set itineraries which can be combined with any other Bamba trip or booked independently.
Who will I be travelling with?
Most of our trips cater to the adventurous independent traveller. In fact, many of our travellers arrive on their own and they quickly find that they easily meet like-minded people along the way at their hostels, on transportation, or during activities. Regarding transportation, depending on the route, you might find yourself travelling on a public bus side by side with locals while at other times, you’ll take a tourist shuttle.
Do I need a visa?
Bamba recommends that you check the visa requirements at the appropriate embassies for your nationality at least 2-3 months in advance so you will have time to prepare your documents. Remember to make sure you have a valid passport with at least 2 empty visa pages and a minimum 6-months validity before travelling.
Do I need travel insurance?
Bamba Experience does not include travel insurance of any type. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip especially when travelling in developing countries and discourage passengers to travel without travel insurance. Your current medical insurance may cover part of your trip so it is important for you to become familiar with your current coverage. We recommend purchasing additional travel insurance that provides coverage for medical emergencies, emergency evacuation and repatriation, lost or stolen items and unforeseen cancellations. If you plan to participate in activities such as white-water rafting, trekking, sand-buggy rides, etc… please make sure they are included on the policy.
What is the age limit?
Most of our Bamba travellers fall between the ages of 18 - 35, but everyone is young at heart and welcome to come experience the world with us! If you are between the ages of 18 and 118, we invite you to travel with Bamba Experience and have the time of your life! Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
