What people love about Iguazu/Iguassu Falls Tours
- Best of Argentina & Brazil
Great trip! Very well organized and lots of fun! Perfect amount of activities, adventure, and free time to explore on your own.
- Best of Argentina & Brazil
My mom and I went on this trip together and had the best time. We had at least 2-3 nights in each place with a complete mix of free time to explore on our own and guided tours of both Buenos Aires and Rio when we arrived. We had local guides join us alongside our tour leader in every stop that we went to. The hotels were incredible an in perfect locations so you could walk everywhere!
- Best of Argentina & Brazil
The tour was great with our tour leader providing outstanding service by constantly ensuring that we were aware of upcoming activities, meeting times, restaurant suggestions and points of interest. I could not recommend Hernanda more highly. The majority of our group integrated very well however, as I imagine is the case in all group tours, there were a few who did not listen to the group leader and as such were constantly questioning what was happening. It is hard to listen when you’re constantly tapping on your cell phone!! Would do another Tourradar tour in the future without hesitation. All accomodation and tours were excellent. Thanks Hernanda for a great experience.
Travel Iguazu/Iguassu Falls your way
Looking for extra excitement at Iguazu? Several tours pack in adventures beyond just viewing the falls. You'll get to explore both Brazilian and Argentine sides, ride eco-trains right up to Devil's Throat and hop on boats that'll get you properly soaked under those massive cascades. Our travelers tell us the early morning starts are worth it - fewer people around and perfect lighting for photos. Many travelers appreciate how these tours weave in visits to local bird parks and Guarani communities near the falls, adding cultural depth to the natural spectacle. The premium options start with professional tango experiences in Buenos Aires before heading to Iguazu, while other routes continue to Mocona Falls where you can zip-line through jungle canopy, paddle kayaks and even rappel down 20-meter canyons. For those wanting more, some tours extend into Ibera Natural Reserve. Here you'll spot caimans lounging in the sun, playful otters in the water and over 350 different bird species while exploring via motorboat and forest paths. Our guides have really perfected the timing - they know exactly when to hit different viewpoints to avoid crowds and maximize your experience. Our customers consistently mention how well the activities flow, with just enough structure balanced against free time to discover things on your own.
See all Active toursThe most popular way to really see Iguazu Falls combines both Argentine and Brazilian perspectives across 2-3 days, letting you walk every boardwalk, ride the ecological train to Devil's Throat and get right under the cascades by boat. Our guides have mastered the timing - they'll get you to Devil's Throat early before the crowds pile in. Many visitors appreciate the stops at local Guarani communities near the falls where they learn about traditional tools and daily routines. Having organized transport between viewpoints and across borders makes everything smoother, while still giving you plenty of time to explore and take photos at your own speed.

Looking at these tour companies in detail, Intrepid comes out strong in a few key areas - their local guides really know their stuff and the company has built solid relationships with communities along their routes. The tours run smoothly, which our travelers consistently mention in their feedback. Say Hueque takes a more tailored approach, working with each traveler to build custom itineraries. Their team stays in good contact throughout the planning process and during the actual trip. This personal touch makes a real difference when you're trying to plan something specific to your interests. TourRadar has hit some bumps with their third-party setup - quite a few customers mentioned issues with airport pickups not showing up as planned, and getting answers about problems took longer since messages had to go through multiple channels. The Iguazu Falls experience itself is clearly worth it though. While some hotels in the area could use updates according to recent visitors, the boat ride that takes you right under the cascading water emerged as a highlight that pretty much everyone loved. You get properly soaked but that's part of what makes it fun and memorable.

Best places to start your Iguazu/Iguassu Falls tour
Most people kick off their Iguazu trip from Buenos Aires - about 27 of our recent travelers started there. Puerto Iguazu and Rio de Janeiro are tied for second choice with 19 travelers each and also Foz do Iguacu sees about 12 departures. Looking at our booking patterns, you'll want to lock in your tour roughly 2.5 months ahead (that's 77 days) especially since the top-rated options tend to fill quickly. This timing also helps you grab better hotel choices, which can make a real difference in your experience. March-April or August-September hit the sweet spot - you still get impressive water flow but with fewer people and nicer temperatures. Devil's Throat tends to quiet down late afternoon, while the Argentine side's upper and lower trails show their best face in morning light. Two full days works perfectly for most people, with your first morning best spent exploring the extensive Argentine walkways.
