What people love about Northeast India Tours
- India + Sri Lanka Experience
So seamless and well organised from start to finish. Was never worried or concerned about areas we went to and the transport timing and pick up was impeccable! A definite variety on hotel standards but more on a higher standard that lower. A perfect balance of being busy which kept it exciting mixed with plenty of down time to yourself and time to bond with the group. I did end up spending maybe more than than I hoped as I thought more meals would be included but thankfully not an expensive country! I felt like I saw all that Sri Lanka had to offer and can’t wait to come back.
Travel Northeast India your way
For those seeking to truly discover Northeast India's hidden corners, several explorer-focused tours stand out. The most comprehensive options run 12-14 days, taking you deep into Meghalaya's valleys and Assam's wilderness. Our customers particularly love the tours combining Kaziranga's wildlife with visits to remote tea plantations and cultural sites. The itineraries include unique experiences like crossing the Brahmaputra to tiny Peacock Island and exploring the fascinating Mawsmai caves with their limestone formations. Many tours also feature overnight stays in traditional villages, where travelers consistently mention how much they enjoyed connecting with local families and learning about their way of life.
Select from our extensive range of 29 fully guided tours to enjoy a worry-free experience through Northeast India with our expert guides leading the way.
Adventure seekers should check out the 7-day wilderness tours through Assam's back country. These involve camping under the stars, navigating mountain trails and also crossing rope bridges. Our travelers say the physical demands are worth it - you'll trek through dense forests, spot rare birds and learn survival skills from local guides who grew up in these hills. The tours max out at 8 people, which means you can really get to know your fellow adventurers while having proper access to the expert guides.

Travelers who've booked with Golden Triangle Tour keep coming back - one client liked them so much they arranged a full month-long second trip. The experience with Swastik Tours has been more mixed though. While their drivers and guides really know their material and get positive mentions, there's often a gap between what's promised and what actually happens on the ground. Our clients have specifically pointed out language difficulties and hotels that didn't quite match what was advertised in their materials. It's interesting to see how the actual ground operations can vary even when companies have similar offerings. Swastik Tours does have those strong points with their local teams but need to work on matching their marketing to reality. Meanwhile, Golden Triangle Tour seems to have found that sweet spot of delivering what they promise and also exceeding expectations.
