Swastik Tours provided an extremely poor tour, so bad that I will seek a partial refund. They advertised as offering an English speaking tour, and that was simply not provided. They advertised an Itinerary on which we based our decision to pay for and go on this tour, but a number of specific things we wanted to were simply not provided, and given the lack of any English speaking guide, we really had little idea of what we were doing, and why we were not doing the Itinerary that was provided on our booking. I totally blame Swastik, and will never have anything to do with them again - their advertised Itinerary and being an English speaking tour is deceptive, and simply downright dishonest. As I understand it from speaking to the co ordinator and two drivers, Swastik simply subcontracts to a local tour company with Zero experience in non-Indian clients, with this sub contracted company having no experience with foreigners not allowed to travel to regions near the Chinese border. So a full day shown on Itinerary was deleted when in Tawang, as foreigners were not allowed to exit Tawang on the sole road to the Chinese border as had been highlited in the Itinerary. Not one hotel on the Itinerary was the one we ended up staying at, with a number of substitute places not offering means of payment apart from Cah or local credit cards, and were of a standard less than was offered on the Itinerary. We had a major problem with means of payment as ATMs would not accept foreign credit cards, and hotels and eateries would not accept foreign credit cards. When our Indian cash ran out, our driver actually lent is INR cash - which of course we paid him back after a detour via Shillong, that had a foreigners friendly ATM. My overall assessment is that the tour we did was based on an old, pre Covid tour, designed for Indian Nationals by the subcontracted local Indian tour company, and as such I don't blame the local tour company for not meeting the foreigner suitable/English speaking tour offered on international Web sites by Swastik. Under no circumstances will I have anything to do with Swastik ever again, and I really question the merits/morality of TourRadar offering tours to Australians from Swastik that are NOT English speaking and do not adhere to the offered Itinerary, do not honour the standard of accommodation offered, and do not advise fundamentals such as non acceptance of non Indian credit cards or access to ATMs in order to get Indian cash..

Everything went according to the agreed plan, so I have nothing to complain about. Sometimes the driving was too long for a single day, it would be nicer if the tour included moving to hotels closer to the destinations, which would allow for more time to visit other places. I went during March, which meant that waterfalls had minimum to no water, so if you are interested in that, I would suggest a different season. My suggestion to the tour operator would be to add tours for Meghalaya that include more physical activities, like the bamboo trek, which can appeal to younger people. Some of the activities were too simple and not really worth hours of driving. Thank you for organising my trip and answering all my queries!

Amazing in one word. Great destinations, lovely monuments, perfect utilization of time and very good guides. The only thing bad was the food too spicy, don't be adventurous like us and tell the chef NO spices, not like us that be gentle. Gentle is also spicy for us Europeans. If you are in Mumbai for business and have a few days to spare this is the perfect tour to take as shows you the best of India in just a few days.

This 16-day self-drive adventure through Northeast India is an amazing experience that takes me through Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Nagaland. I'll drive myself in a convoy of four-wheel drive vehicles, which is a great way to see the countryside and have some fun off-roading.
- by Utsa SethiWhat to say tough, adventurous, beautiful and one word to summarise is mesmerising. One must experience to capture the memories in the heart and soul which cannot be felt through media, pics, videos etc. This is one tick which is very important at whatever age we are at. The icing on the cake is the Adventure Overland, probably one of the best in the world combining safety, luxury and experiences. Always passionate and extremely supportive team and leadership.

It never happened. As previously advised I did not get a visa for India ao no trip. Lost everything Flights Trip. Pre and Post accommodation.VFS Global are the worst agency ever. If you send an email you get an auto reply saying the will contact 2 day after inquiry when they do respond they do not answer question but instead ask another question. Another 2 days wasted. Their phone inquired service is automated and directs to the useless email service.I lost everything and on contacting travel insurer was told that since I did not get a visa lnsurance did not cover that situation So complete loss. Will never go to India and will never deal tourradar again.
