What people love about Greek Islands Tours
- Greece Islands w/4 Star stays & fast Ferries
As a newlywed, October is the best time to visit Greece and TourRadar made it easy.
- Sailing Greece - Santorini to Santorini
Sailing the Greek Islands was an amazing experience. I had been to Greece several times, but had never sailed from island to island. I felt as if I were seeing Greece for the first time. Our guide was awesome and the group was made up of the coolest people you could ever meet!
- The Labyrinth of Crete
Overall, great experience. Was surprised to find out that museum was included after the Knossos tour. Was also more impressed by jeep tour than I expected. Overall, great 3 days. Hotel was nice just surprises my room didn't have a TV. But good food and comfy accommodations made up for it.
Travel Greek Islands your way
The Greek Islands offer some truly remarkable hiking paths, particularly on Corfu and Crete. On Corfu's trails, our travelers consistently praise the mix of coastal and mountain walks - you'll trek through olive groves, visit remote villages and get those perfect Mediterranean views from places like the old Venetian village of Lakones. The northern route takes you up to Pantokrator Monastery at 917 meters, while the southern path leads through peaceful lake areas and along golden beaches. Over in Crete, walkers love exploring Europe's longest gorge, Samaria, where the narrow 'Iron Gates' tower 350 meters above you. The trails on both islands are rated moderate to challenging, with daily walks ranging from 12 to 24 kilometers. Our customers particularly value the local guides who share stories about village life, mythology and also hidden spots for authentic taverna meals after a good day's walk.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursSailing through the Cyclades consistently ranks as one of our most popular Greek experiences. Most trips run 7-9 days, giving you plenty of time to discover hidden coves and quiet harbors across Mykonos, Santorini, Ios, Naxos and also the Small Cyclades. Our travelers particularly love the flexibility - you can help sail the yacht if you're interested, or simply relax on deck between swim stops in crystal-clear bays. Each route offers something unique: some focus on the southern islands with longer stays in Santorini and Ios, while others explore the northern Cyclades' lesser-known spots like Syros and Amorgos. The yachts typically accommodate 8-12 people, creating a nice social atmosphere. Our customers regularly mention how much they enjoy dropping anchor in small ports where they can walk to family tavernas, watch sunsets from Little Venice in Mykonos and explore ancient ruins without the daytime crowds.

Looking at the reviews from our travelers, Travel Zone emerges as a real customer favorite. People consistently highlight how well everything runs, and there's lots of love for staff members Irene and Effie who seem to go above and beyond. Contiki's island hopping tour stands out too, with tour manager Courtney Dailey receiving special praise. Our customers frequently mention how she combines deep local knowledge with a fun approach that makes the whole experience more engaging. Wonderful Holidays delivers reliable service across the board but there's room for improvement in their Greece Islands package. While the 4-star accommodations and fast ferries are appreciated, several travelers mentioned they'd prefer more activities included in the base price. The feedback on Destination Services is a bit mixed. Their flexible approach gets positive mentions and their team responds quickly to requests. However, The Labyrinth of Crete tour has some weak spots - mainly the hotel quality isn't quite hitting the mark and there have been some issues with transfers running late or having last-minute changes.

"The trip was good all round - especially our tour guide "Stelios". We were a great group and had a wonderful time together throughout. The only criticism was the accommodation - all the accommodation was very basic and the last one was borderline.

Best places to start your Greek Islands tour
Athens works best as your starting point - 81 of our recent travelers began there, while just 7 chose Crete's Heraklion and 4 started in Santorini. The capital simply has better flight connections and easier access. Our booking data shows you'll want to lock in your trip about 4.5 months ahead (that's 139 days) to get the dates you prefer, especially during the busy June-September season. May-June or September-October hit that sweet spot our travelers love - the weather's nice enough for swimming and outdoor activities, but you'll find fewer crowds and also better prices. These shoulder months are perfect for genuine experiences in local tavernas and chatting with villagers going about their daily lives. Winter visits work well for hiking and cultural sites, though you should know some tourist spots and ferry services might be running reduced schedules.

You'll find great value in our 5-day Athens and Santorini combinations, with ferries, hotels and guided activities all sorted out. After exploring Athens' ancient sites, you'll sail to Santorini where most tours take you on volcanic island cruises with stops at the hot springs. Our customers tell us they love having free time built into these tours - perfect for wandering Fira's narrow streets, finding quiet sunset spots and trying local restaurants. Some tours add nice extras like dinner cruises near Thirasia Island or guided walks in Oia village. The smooth transfers between islands get mentioned a lot in reviews; it takes the hassle out of getting around so you can just enjoy Greece.
Our premium Greek Islands tours run 8-15 days and really deliver on unique experiences. Our travelers particularly enjoy hiking Santorini's caldera with guides who know exactly when to time walks for the best views and fewer tourists. Small Group
148 tours in Greek IslandsSmall group adventures through the Greek Islands earn consistent praise from our travelers, with several standout options worth noting. Sailing voyages keeping groups intimate at 8-12 guests give you the choice to help navigate between Mykonos, Santorini and the Small Cyclades, or simply unwind on deck between dips in secluded bays. Cultural expeditions spanning 7-11 days combine expert-guided walks through Athens' archaeological treasures with authentic experiences, like cooking in Naxian homes and sipping wines at volcanic vineyards. Our island-hopping journeys, capped at 16 people, weave in visits to less traveled gems like Syros with its neo-classical buildings and Amorgos where monasteries cling to mountainsides. Travelers often mention how skillfully guides time each stop - reaching the Acropolis before the crowds surge in, finding peaceful viewpoints for Oia sunsets and knowing exactly which family tavernas serve the freshest seafood. The blend of guided activities and independent exploration works particularly well with small groups, whether you're crafting traditional pottery in Rhodes, paddling along hidden eastern shores or walking ancient paths between sun-bleached villages.

The reviews often mention how easy the private transfers make island hopping, plus they appreciate having local contacts while keeping their independence to explore freely.

The 3-day Greek Island tours pack a lot into a short time. You'll hop from Athens to Mykonos and Santorini, wandering through Little Venice's waterside streets and getting that perfect caldera view at sunset. Our customers really enjoy the optional wine tastings at Santorini's family vineyards, where local wines come with traditional meze plates. Another solid choice pairs Santorini with Crete - you'll tour the ancient Knossos Palace and sample olive oils from groves that have produced for centuries. The quick pace works well thanks to smooth transfers, and our local guides know exactly how to make those three days count.

The Cyclades sailing trips attract lots of solo travelers, with groups of 8-12 sharing traditional wooden boats while exploring Naxos, Paros and neighboring islands. Our customers often tell us these trips are perfect for meeting other independent explorers - you share meals on deck, swim in quiet bays and walk through old villages as a group. The 10-16 day island-hopping tours work really well for solo guests too; you get your own room but join others for group dinners and activities like cooking in local homes. What makes it work is the mix - guided morning activities then free time to explore charming towns or join others for sunset drinks in Santorini.
Our premium Greek Island tours hit the right notes for couples, blending romantic moments with real Greek culture. The 11-day trips through Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and Santorini mix private experiences - like caldera sunset wine tastings - with optional group activities to meet other travelers. The 7-11 day trips fit nicely with school breaks, and parents tell us they love how flexible things are. You can explore the Acropolis and Plaka when kids have morning energy, then head to Santorini's volcanic beaches for afternoon swims. We've found families especially enjoy the sailing tours where they spot dolphins and discover hidden coves together. The schedule strikes a nice balance with guided activities and free time, so kids can run around on beaches while parents take it easy. Our hotel transfers are quick and smooth - crucial when you're traveling with children - and most places offer family rooms or connecting options to keep everyone comfortable.
