- Manaus Amazon Jungle Adventure 5D/4N
While the rain forest was a bit different from expected, it was quite an enjoyable experience. Mathias was our guide and was very knowledgeable and provide a lot of information not just into the animals but survival in the forest and the way of life for people in the region. He very much made the trip extra special for me. While I arranged for a private room, I thought the cabin was quite reasonable including the bathroom and shower. The food and water were good, there was always plenty available for everyone and never experienced any stomach or other issues. The only suggestion I might offer was the communication on the trek from Manaus. I realise the 2 bridges being in-accessible made the journey unusual, but a number of us were uncertain what was happening and what we were supposed to do. We made our way fine in the end, but a bit more proactive communication may have removed some uncertainty and anxiety as to where we were to go or for what we were waiting.

Organization of and the Tour itself were excellent! I can highly recommend this Tour!
Travel Amazonas your way
Our explorer tours take you deep into authentic Amazon territory with naturalist guides who really know their stuff. The longer programs run 4-5 days and push well past the usual tourist spots into primary forest. You'll pick up proper jungle skills - from spearfishing techniques to finding edible plants and spotting wildlife. The guides show you how to track caiman after dark, catch piranha from traditional dugout canoes and find plants that indigenous people use as medicine. TourRadar customers tell us the overnight camping is a highlight - drifting off in hammocks while the nighttime forest comes alive around them. You'll also spend time with local caboclo families, try making manioc flour and see what daily life is really like along the river.

"Once again a dream that I realize Gorgoeous trip. This trip will not so fantastatic without Carmen our tour leader. She has excellent knowledge who was passionate about her country and love to share her culture and heritage with the group. She did that with her heart. Very good other guide also Keke for the Colca Canyon,... Varied activities, historical, homestay (communities), landscape, some animals (condors, other birds...), pisco sour, ... And also the wonderfull Inca trail (Yes I did it ;-))).Magic moments when we arrive to see the Matchu Pitchu after the 4 days of the trail. In more very good group good mood, atmosphere, ecouragments, partying... Good accomodation (big room, good located, ), good oragnized, excellent night bus (very confortable, space realy better than in Europe) . There are some long travel but it is like that. I come back with a lot of stars in my eyes !

"Amazon Tours is not a 5 star tour . It is a 5 star experience! Everything from camping in the forest to sitting in the middle of the Amazon River watching the sun set is amazing. The guides are knowledgeable and fun. The meals are simple, well prepared and laid out in a pleasing buffet. The rooms are old, comfortable and tidy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Get your sunscreen bug spray ready and have a 5 star experience on a budget!

11 tours in AmazonasOur private 5-day Manaus programs let you really dig into what interests you most. TourRadar customers consistently mention guide Eduardo for his ability to shape each day around individual interests. You'll have your own boat to explore quiet channels, learn traditional fishing one-on-one and get personalized jungle survival training. The mix of lodge stays and camping works well - you can linger longer at spots that catch your interest, whether that's getting the perfect wildlife photo, watching specific bird species or spending extra time with indigenous families. Night safaris work especially well in this format since you can move quietly and wait for just the right moment to spot animals.

Our 3-day Amazon programs pack plenty into a short time - you'll go piranha fishing, spot caimans at night and meet local caboclo communities. TourRadar customers often tell us the night excursions are a highlight, especially drifting off in hammocks while the forest comes alive around them. If you prefer being on water, our boat tours take you through the Meeting of Waters and into the Anavilhanas archipelago for canoe paddles through flooded forests and visits with indigenous groups. The air-conditioned lodges give you a proper bed and hot shower while keeping all the hands-on activities - perfect for adding the Amazon onto a bigger Brazil trip without a lengthy jungle commitment.

Manaus comes alive in summer with both water and land activities. The 4-5 day programs mix things up nicely - you'll start your mornings piranha fishing and spotting dolphins, then head into the jungle where guides share their knowledge about medicinal plants and survival skills. TourRadar customers often tell us the overnight camping is a highlight; you'll learn spearfishing techniques and track wildlife in the dark. - Fall / Autumn 2025
Fall gives us perfect conditions for expedition-style tours that blend lodge comfort with real jungle experiences. The 5-day programs start with dawn bird watching before heading out on ecological walks where you'll find various monkey species, sloths and other wildlife. Our travelers appreciate how we balance the activities - morning canoe rides through flooded forests, afternoon visits with indigenous communities and also nighttime caiman spotting. The hands-on spearfishing lessons and survival training make these autumn trips special, while the lodge stays give you a comfortable base between outings. Based on the reviews, Intrepid comes out looking pretty solid - their guides Patricia, Smithie and Edwind got specific mentions for going the extra mile and travelers really liked how well-organized their tours were. TourRadar's feedback is a bit mixed. One family had a great time on their Puerto Maldonado trip - everything matched the description perfectly, from the places they stayed to the activities they did. But there's also a story of someone getting frustrated with slow responses and ending up booking directly with Amazon Amazing Tours instead. That said, it worked out well since they loved the alternative tour, especially praising Leo who owns it and their guide Anailson. Amazon Tours got good marks for their actual tours, though it's worth noting their accommodations are pretty basic and you won't find air conditioning there. If you're expecting luxury, that might not be your best pick. Looking at these companies side by side, Intrepid seems to be the most consistent with positive feedback, TourRadar is hit-or-miss with their communication but delivers good experiences, and Amazon Tours offers good value if you're okay with simpler lodging.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter in the Amazon brings excellent wildlife viewing around Puerto Maldonado and Madre de Dios. You'll spend 3-4 days exploring Tambopata National Reserve where giant river otters swim freely, blue and yellow macaws soar overhead and red howler monkeys swing through the canopy. Our customers really love the elevated walkways - seven hanging bridges take you 91 feet up where you'll get close to white-throated toucans, woodpeckers and also three-toed sloths. The night walks are particularly good this season; expert guides help you spot nocturnal animals while explaining their behaviors and habits.
