The trip was great, we had a wide variety of activities / locations, from temples to cooking classes. The trains were good, and Vincent is a knowledgeable and engaging guide. The only criticism would be the quality of the accommodation, and particularly the FX hotels were run down and in need of refreshing (mould in showers, noisy aircon, etc).

"Typhoon Krathon brought havoc to the 5-day tour. We spent 3 nights in a hotel in Kaohsiung, and missed out entirely on the scenic East Coast. I actually think that, given the recent earthquake there and fairly predictable risk of landslides, the tour should have involved more half-day/day trips from Taipei. "There wasn’t much to see or do in the eleven days. For what there is to do, the itinerary should be shortened to seven days maximum. The typhoon prediction caused cancellations that weren’t necessary because we hardly got any rain. All in all I wouldn’t recommend this tour.
