What people love about Coach / Bus Tours in Denmark, Norway and Sweden
- Spectacular Scandinavia & its Fjords (Classic, 15 Days)
Overall this was an excellent value for money holiday, The luxury transportation and wonderful hotels in excellent locations really made this trip. The scenery was spectacular- just loved these countries and our experiences. Our travel director went over and above to ensure we all had a wonderful time. I would fully recommend Insight Vacations Scandinavia trips.
- Copenhagen to Helsinki
The tour was good, Inga the tour guide and Josh the driver were both very good. Well recommended tour.
- Highlights of Scandinavia (12 Days)
This was the trip of a lifetime. Our driver was Tibor & our TD was Xavier. Both were top notch. The days were planned out beautiful. The breakfasts were “pretty good”, but the eggs were always soupy. I guess that’s how they do scrambled. The included dinners were generally quite nice. The accommodations were nice, except for yhe one in Vradal - it was rather dated. We would recommend this to anyone, 5 stars.
What our customers ask about Coach / Bus Tours & Trips in Denmark, Norway and Sweden
What are the key attractions covered on most bus tours in Denmark, Norway and Sweden?
Nordic bus tours connect travelers to essential sights across three countries. In Copenhagen stops include the Little Mermaid statue and Tivoli Gardens while Oslo features the Vigeland Sculpture Park and Viking Ship Museum. The UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf in Bergen and Stockholm's Royal Palace round out the urban highlights. Nature takes center stage with cruises through Geirangerfjord Sognefjord and Hardangerfjord. Accommodations range from city-center hotels like the Scandic Sydhavnen in Copenhagen to harborfront properties such as the Thon Hotel Orion in Bergen. A TourRadar traveler notes: "The Norwegian fjords were breathtaking - the cruise through Geirangerfjord with its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls was a definite highlight of the whole trip."
What are the most spectacular natural highlights visited on Scandinavian coach tours?
The natural wonders of Scandinavia unfold through visits to Norway's most notable fjords including the UNESCO-recognized Geirangerfjord Sognefjord and Hardangerfjord. Tours stop at the Briksdalsbreen glacier and travel the curved Atlantic Road with its sequence of eight bridges. Waterfalls like the 182-meter Voringsfossen provide dramatic photo opportunities. Swedish landscapes feature Lake Vänern and the scattered islands of Stockholm's archipelago. According to one TourRadar traveler: "The views of Geirangerfjord from Eagle's Point were absolutely incredible - pictures don't do justice to the dramatic landscape of deep blue waters surrounded by snow-capped peaks."
What are the typical daily driving times and distances covered on coach tours through Scandinavia?
Daily coach journeys typically span 4-6 hours with some longer stretches between major cities. The Copenhagen to Oslo route takes 8 hours while Bergen to Stockholm requires 10 hours on the road. Scenic stops along routes like the Atlantic Road and Geirangerfjord break up travel time with comfort breaks scheduled every 2-3 hours. Overnight stays at properties like Hotel Randers in Denmark and Thon Hotels in Norway provide proper rest between travel days. A TourRadar traveler shares: "The scenery was breathtaking - even the long drives were enjoyable with our knowledgeable guide sharing stories and history along the way."
How much free time is typically available in the major Scandinavian cities?
Capital cities receive 1-2 full days of exploration time combining guided morning tours with independent afternoon activities. Copenhagen offers chances to wander Nyhavn harbor and visit Tivoli Gardens at leisure. Bergen provides free hours to explore the historic Bryggen wharf area. Central hotels like the Radisson Blu Scandinavia in Copenhagen and Park Inn by Radisson in Stockholm enable easy independent sightseeing. One TourRadar traveler notes: "I appreciated having guided orientation tours followed by free time to discover hidden gems and local restaurants at my own pace."
What kind of accommodations are typically used on these tours?
Tours feature 3-4 star properties ranging from modern city hotels like the AC Marriott Bella Sky in Copenhagen to Radisson Blu locations in urban centers and scenic accommodations such as Hotel Union Geiranger near the fjords. While rooms offer contemporary comforts some historic properties may lack air conditioning. A TourRadar traveler shares: "The hotels were well-located - I especially loved the Thon Hotel in Oslo with its harbor views and the unique Hotel Randers in Denmark with its artistic heritage dating back to 1856."
What type of weather and temperatures can be expected during the peak summer season?
Summer brings temperatures between 15-25°C (60-77°F) to Scandinavia with extended daylight lasting up to 18+ hours. Southern cities like Copenhagen tend to be warmer while fjord regions around Geiranger stay cooler with periodic rain. Wind commonly sweeps across the Atlantic Road coastal route. A TourRadar traveler reports: "We had beautiful sunny days in the cities but needed layers for the fjords where temperatures dropped. The midnight sun in June was a magical experience especially from our room at Hotel Union in Geiranger."
