Discover amazing wildlife and landscapes in Hwange National Park. Most travelers enjoy exploring our Hwange National Park adventures in June, making it the most popular time of the year.
See all Hwange National Park toursThe mighty Zambezi River creates the world's largest sheet of falling water at Victoria Falls, and our travelers love experiencing it from both sides of the border. You get totally different views from Zambia and Zimbabwe, each worth exploring. The river cruises at sunset have become a real highlight - you'll drift past hippos in the water, spot crocs sunning themselves on shore and often see elephants wandering down for their evening drink. Many visitors combine their falls stay with a trip to Chobe National Park, where you'll find the world's biggest elephant population and excellent wildlife watching. The falls change completely with the seasons - February through May brings peak water flow with spray visible for miles and permanent rainbows in the mist, though some viewpoints get pretty soaked. Come during the dry season from August to December for clearer views and a chance to swim in Devil's Pool right at the falls' edge.

"What can I say, an excellent trip from start to finish, picked up from the airport on time by my assigned driver, Wilson, who took me to my hotel, the Shrub Lodge, and what a little gem of a place, beautiful, nice and quiet, extremely friendly, polite, and pleasant staff, comfortable, clean room. The walking tour of Victoria Falls was out of this world, as a solo visitor I had my own ‘personal’ guide, Locke, she was brilliant, very friendly, knowledgeable, and just gave my visit that little something extra that I will never forget. The sunset cruise on the Zambezi was amazing, and very relaxing. Did an extra optional helicopter ride over the Falls which was an awesome experience, well worth $175. Was picked up from hotel on time and was back at the airport with plenty of time for my flight. Overall my 3 day tour to Victoria Falls was an amazing experience.

Best places to start your Zimbabwe tour
Most Zimbabwe tours kick off from Victoria Falls - about 39 of our recent departures started right there. While some folks begin from Harare, Pretoria and also Livingstone, the Falls makes perfect sense as a starting point since it's close to many key sites. Book around 70 days ahead to get the dates and guides you want, especially for those popular Zambezi cruises. The Falls show their full power from February to May after the rains, though river cruises run all year. Many visitors combine their Falls experience with Hwange National Park nearby - head there July through October when elephants and other wildlife gather at the waterholes during dry season.
Discover Zimbabwe tours for every budget
Our budget-friendly 8-day Zimbabwe tours blend Victoria Falls with quality game viewing in Hwange National Park. You'll ride elephants at Antelope Park, discover Great Zimbabwe's ancient ruins and walk with rhinos in Matopos - all while staying in comfortable lodges that keep costs sensible. The guides at places like Big Cave lodge love sharing stories over dinner, and our travelers particularly connect with the lion breeding project visits. For shorter trips, the 5-day options zero in on either Victoria Falls or Hwange, where you'll head out for both morning and evening game drives to spot more wildlife. Many travelers pick our 3-day Victoria Falls packages that include guided tours, river cruises and time exploring local craft markets.
Our luxury Zimbabwe trips come in two distinct flavors. The first puts you in exclusive tented camps along the Zambezi in Mana Pools National Park - think guided walks, canoe trips and tiger fishing. The second centers on Victoria Falls with stays at upscale spots like Bayete Guest Lodge, mixing helicopter flights over the falls with elegant dining at The Victoria Falls Hotel Stanley's Terrace. What makes these trips special is how flexible they are - you choose between morning walks or game drives and pick your ideal time for sundowner cruises. The guides at these camps are pros at reading the group and adjusting each day's activities to match what you're in the mood for.

Special touches include viewing elephants from underground hides and staying at private bush camps. Demographics
Our Zimbabwe solo tours really hit the mark with personal guided experiences, especially the Victoria Falls and Hwange combinations. Guides like Fungayi make sure everyone's part of the group while keeping things flexible. You'll join guided walks through the Victoria Falls rainforest and full-day game drives in Hwange, where there's always something happening - from elephant herds moving through to lions lounging in the shade and also over 400 bird species to spot. The lodges become social spots in the evenings, and our solo guests tell us they love how the days mix group activities with time to explore on their own.
Couples really connect with our multi-day Zimbabwe trips that mix wildlife with quiet moments together. The 5-day Victoria Falls and Hwange tour starts with private sunset cruises - just you two sharing a drink while elephants come down to the Zambezi. Many pairs split their days between morning wildlife tracking in Hwange and lazy afternoons at the lodge. Some go all out with bungee jumping at the falls, white water rafting on the Zambezi and also helicopter flights over the spray. For a slower pace, staying at Hwange Safari Lodge lets you alternate between game drives and quiet afternoons watching wildlife from your private deck - our guests say those peaceful moments often become trip highlights.
Young travelers are drawn to our Zimbabwe tours that blend wildlife encounters with high-energy activities. Our four and five-day combinations of Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park hit all the right notes - you'll spend full days tracking big cats, visit painted dogs at the conservation center and also get up close with elephants at busy waterholes. The Falls region delivers proper adventure experiences, with Zambezi white water rafting, cliff jumping from Victoria Falls Bridge and also ziplining across dramatic gorges. Our guests particularly value the tented camp stays in Hwange, where fireside evenings seamlessly transition into morning safari drives searching for lions, leopards, buffalo and other wildlife. The tours balance structured activities with independent exploration time, while sunset river cruises let you connect with fellow travelers as hippos and crocodiles surface along the riverbanks.
The 5-day tours to Zimbabwe give seniors a perfect blend of Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park experiences. Afternoons start gently with Zambezi River cruises, where you'll watch hippos and crocodiles glide by from your comfortable boat seat, cocktail in hand. Fall weather suits mixed-activity tours perfectly. Popular 5-day itineraries blend misty morning walks through Victoria Falls rainforest with Hwange game drives. Zambezi River sunset cruises are excellent this season - watch hippos, crocodiles and also elephants come down to drink. Our customers appreciate meeting new groups each day instead of staying with one fixed tour. Many also like having the choice to upgrade from camping to chalet accommodation. Travelers keep telling us great things about Afro Honeyguide Adventures, and their guides Fungayi and Innocent really stand out. These two know their stuff inside out, pay close attention to all the small details and are always ready to help. Our guests particularly love how the tours flow through Hwange and Chobe National Parks before wrapping up at Victoria Falls - it's a natural progression that just works. Little Roz Tours is hitting all the right notes too. Their guides Bothwell and Shakes have earned quite a reputation among our travelers, especially for their deep knowledge of Hwange and Victoria Falls. The way they plan everything takes the stress out of African safari travel, letting you focus on spotting wildlife and soaking in the landscapes. What makes both companies special is how they've figured out the perfect balance between wildlife viewing in the parks and time at Victoria Falls. When visitors write back to us, they often mention how smoothly everything runs - from pickup to drop-off and all the game drives in between.
